I cant turn on imac, keep hearing beep sound

I am not able to turn on my iMac. There are three beep sound when I try to turn it on. Any idea to fix this problem? Please help. Thank you very much.

3 beeps means something is wroing with your dimm slots or the dimms themselves.
Try reseating the ram.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Cant startup my iMac - just a strange sound

One morning My iMac was impossible to start up. The screen stays grey and it gives me at the same time a high sound 3 times, then a small break, same sound 3 times, break and continue until I shut down the iMac.
I have tried to start up in safe boot, and I get a errror message in the code.

My iMac keeping making a sound (sort of a clicking sound) every 30 seconds when I am not using it. It is very annoying; is therre a way to stop it?

Bring it in to service, and ask them to tell you what the noise is. Sometimes it just is the optical drive realigning itself. It could be the sign of a dying hard drive. Only they can tell the difference.

CUE 7.x Beep Sound missing

I am Rohan.
I have a CUE 7.x . The users are not hearing Beep Sound after the message is being played " Please record your message after the beep". As a result the end user keeps waiting for the beep and they dont leave a message.
Please suggest how do we enable or diable the beep. Is there anything that can be done.

Hi Rohan,
I have seen this issue before and an upgrade seems to fix this this issue. Try an upgrade of the IOS and let me know how you go. This issue could also be caused by a bug in the CUE as well. If the IOS upgrade did not fix the issue, try upgrading CUE to the latest version in 7.

Beep sound coming from FIOS Box.

Every 15 minutes, I hear beep sound coming from my Fios Box. What is wrong?

if it's the battery back up in your garage or basement, then it's probably time to replace the battery. that normally is an alarm that the battery needs to be replaced. in your TOS when you activate your fios it describes that verizon will take care of the battery for 1 year, and after 1 year you are responsible to replace it.

I don't know if it's an F1 connector or an F2 connector, so on the website they give you a little guide, and you can look at your battery and see which one it has.
if you installed within a year, then call verizon and they should send you a new one at no cost.
there is also an alarm silence button, but I am not sure how long it makes it a silent alarm for. maybe a couple hours, maybe a couple days, someone else on here might be able to answer that.

Hmm. The problem still may be the RAM - Apple buys the RAM it puts in its machines from third-party vendors (usually Hynix) so it could be a RAM problem.
There are a couple of things that you can do yourself before taking your machine into an Apple Store or an AASP... download and run an application named Rember that will run a RAM test for you - let it run for a couple of hours or even overnight. If it turns out that your RAM is faulty, Rember will let you know. If it is faulty, then you have a couple of options - replace the RAM yourself or (particularly if you're under warranty still) take the machine to an Apple Store or AASP and have them replace the RAM.
If Rember finds no fault with the RAM, then you'll need to take it into an Apple Store/AASP and get a free diagnosis on the machine. Three beeps do usually indicate faulty RAM, but if it tests good with Rember you likely have another problem - it could be something as simple as the RAM, somehow, not seated correctly or signs of another hardware problem.
Run Rember first... call back with results.

You're sure the electrical socket it's attached to has power? That socket isn't controlled by a wall switch, which is off? If the socket is good, see this Apple note for systems that won't turn on.

I would go to the Apple Icon Menu and hold the ALT key down whilst doing so and select the System Profilier.
The camera should appear under the USB items.
If it does not try a PRAM reset.
Restart the computer holding down the CMD+ALT+P+R keys until you have heard three Start up bongs then let the Start up continue.

You are under warranty. You can call Applecare and get advice from the tech rep, or you can bring it to an Apple store or authorized Apple service provider.
