  • Hi, All my music files have an exclamation mark on the left and when I tunes asks me to locate a window opens with I Tunes folders but I still cant see my music library . What can i do? Thanks

Hi, All my music files have an exclamation mark on the left and when I tunes asks me to locate a window opens with I Tunes folders but I still cant see my music library . What can i do? Thanks

The red exclamation mark indicates that itunes cannot find your files.
Are the music files still on your harddrive. Look n Finder
    Username/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media
If the files are there then keep the option key pressed and open iTunes. A dialog box will open asking you to choose your library. Select Choose and then navigate to the Music/iTunes Folder and click OK

  • HT1766 Recently updated my iPhone 4s to the iOS 6. Now I can not install application updates, my music library has vanished, iTunes Match (in Settings) keeps setting itself to "Off".

I recently updated my iPhone 4s to the iOS 6. Now I can not install application updates, my music library has vanished, iTunes Match (in Settings) keeps setting itself to "Off". I have also logged off of iTunes in Settings, and it will not let me log back in. Just a few moments ago when I again tried to log into iTunes, it asked me for my Password, then replyed that I had no Match account; but I do. Is Restore the best option?
    Any suggestions

I couldn't find the edit button on my original post so I am posting an update here.
I have gone through more apps and have had good luck on all but one more.  And it's not that the app doesn't work, I am talking about the Yahoo Weather app, It works fine, but when you swipe between cities the screen lags a bit and it sometimes doesn't move between pages the way it should.  On iOS 7.1.2 it was smooth as butter but on iOS 8.0, not so much.  I will post a note in the app store to let them know.  I really like the Yahoo app better than the new stock app.
I have been going through my games and they all work fine. Angry Birds (Original and Stella), Canabalt, Minecraft, Bejeweled 2, Silly Walks, PopWords, Doodle Jump, Deep Green all seem to work just fine.
Starbucks app works as it should.
I will stop back again next week after I have had the weekend to play with it in detail and post my thoughts again.

  • E6 - How do you update the music library?

I just ugraded from the E73. Moved my microSD card over with my music. There is no where to update the music library so it sees all my music on the SD card.
    Am I missing something here?

After repeatedly sliding my finger along the upper right corner of the screen (no icon of any sort present), the Options menu suddeny appeared in the lower right corner, and I was able to update the library. Seems like this might be another situation where the OS was not properly customized for the E6-00. No help from any of Nokia's documentation, either. NO mention of how refreshing the library is accomplished in either the User Guide (which, BTW, still reflects Anna) or the Nokia Support web site. Pretty poor!

  • Updating my Music Library

I have added a number of folders to my Music Library over the months. During that time I have added and deleted songs within those folders. I would like to have iTunes bring those folders up to date, but I don't want to go the Consolidate the Libarary route. My iTunes folder is My Docs is up to date, so I don't need to touch that folder.
How do I update existing non-iTunes music folders to show all the music that is currently that folder?

    Zevoneer,
Thanks for the information regarding updating iTunes Music Library. It is surprising that iTunes will only let you update an existing folder by adding new music one song at a time. I investigated a little further and found a software program at PC World's site called iTunes Library Updater (iTLU), Version 1.22. It's a freebee. I downloaded, installed and ran the program on my XP machine, and as far as I can see, my Music Library was successfully brought up to date. iTLU has a number of options so I was able to fine tune how the update ran. I was wondering if you have had any experience with this little utility? The site says it will run on W2K and XP, but nothing about Vista, so I have not tried to run the program on my Vista machine yet.

  • How to update my music library?

Is there possibility to update the whole music library? I mean not manually adding folder by folder by "Add Folder to the library". But in one click to add new folders?!

File > Add folder to library and select the top level folder. You don't need to go to the lowest level folder.

  • When downloading iTunes onto a new computer, is there any way to automatically import old music files? Last time I got a new computer I didn't have to use an external drive to update my music library.

When downloading iTunes onto a new computer, is there any way to automatically important songs from your previous computer? I recently cracked the screen on my computer and cannot access any files. Last time I got a new computer my iTunes media files automatically appeared in my iTunes when I downloaded it, and I did not have to use my external drive. Is this still possible?

If your backup copy of the old computer was not stolen, then use it to put everything back.

  • N73 Music Library Update Problems

The N73 is a very good phone that is so feature rich. However, it is extremely volatile.
Every other person has a different issue with it. I keep hearing of issues that I never experience, and people do not seem to have experience my issues.
Firmware 27.0628.0.0.3 (Latest Version) - Just updated a few days ago
    My Issue:
    I have a Kingmax 1GB Mini-SD Card
I load it up with music (fully)
I then Ask the Music Player to update my music library (It sometimes does it automatically or when I start the player)
Then either for no reasons or when I add or remove tracks, the tracks available go from 180 to 112,8, 32, or 4 songs available. I can still see and play all the songs on the file manager, but the music player will not update the songs.
The only way I solve this is by copying the songs out of the SD card, formatting the card, and then copying the songs again. It is a painstaking process. But it happens again and again, sometimes when I dont even make changesHas anyone else experienced this and do you have a solution?

Hi Every1, I am having the same problem.
I Have had my N73 ME for quite a while now & it never failed me until now. A few days back for no reason at all the Music Player got screwed up.
There r 2 problems. First when I add music to the phone via Nokia Music manager from the PC the files r added to the memory card (E/Sound/Digital, mp4 format at 48kbps) but r not added to the Music Player Library of the phone. This never happened b4. I tried evrything including formatting the memory card (several times) but nothing works. Some transferred songs do appear in the Library...sometimes a 100, sometimes 115 etc but after that no more songs r added to the Library even though they r in the memory card & can be accessed from there.
Secondly, at the same time this problem started, the Music player malfunctions all of a sudden. The buttons & menus disappear all of a sudden & for no reason & I have to restart the phone.
I even updated the phone firmware to the latest but that didnt help. So plz if any1 can tell me the cause & the solution for this problem I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You.

  • Windows 7 Music Library

I have the Windows 7 operating system that contains the various "Library" features.
With the help of tt2, I have been able to download my "Tagged" .wav files to my "H" Drive, and backup to my "I" Drive.
    I have two questions:
    1. Rather than do a complete backup, when I make changes and add new music; is there a way (setting) under SyncToy 2.1 that I can just backup the new data and changes added to my "Tagged" .wav Music Files on my "H" drive database?
    2. When I open my "H" and "I" drives, the complete Tagged Columnar Database is visible; however, when I open my "Music Library", the database has reverted back to the format that I had originally. Example: "01 Holy Water.wav", "02 Walk Through Fire". Is there an easy way, other than creating new "Left" and "Right" folders under SyncToy 2.1, to copy the "Tagged" Music Database from my "H" drive to my "Music Library" (this takes hours to run the program; and I would have to do it for my Backup and again to update my Music Library)?

    Hi haydnan
It may be a problem of Windows 7 Explorer. First you can try all the different explorer views, title, Large icon..
If there is no effect, you can try to the following methods.
    In Windows Explorer
    1. left click on the mail folder where your music is stored and select it.
    2. Now right click and go to “properties”.
    3. Now click “advanced”.
    4. Put a check in the “Allow files in this folder to have contents indexed in addition to file properties”.
    5.Click ”OK”.
    6.Click”Apply”.
    7. Click “OK” to apply changes to this folder. Sub folders and files.
Now go to your music library and see if it works.

  • Why won't iTunes save changes to my music library?

It seems like every time I update my music library (i.e. add ratings and such), it resorts to the default the next day (i.e. ratings are lost and changes are restored).  Can anyone explain why iTunes won't let me make changes in my music library?

It could be several things but we need fuller information.  If I go into a doctor and just say I have a cough it could be an allergy, it could be dusty, it could be flu, it could be cancer...  If I say it only happens when I work in a bakery that provides a clue.  If I say I also have a fever that provides more information.
Is this only happening with purchases from the iTunes Store?  Possibly something in purchased media (I am pretty sure this has only happened with purchased media) is periodically checking back with the iTunes Store and resetting the tags in the iTunes library file but not in the actual media files (metadata are stored in both).  I haven't seen a truly systematic diagnosis of the issue (I use an old iTunes and have no iTunes account so I can't test anything myself).  There are temporary workarounds but tags will still revert after a time.

    If the above doesn't work:
2014 discussion about edited tags for Store purchases reverting to originals - https://discussions.apple.com/message/26077896#26077896 - edited tags are still present in the media file but revert to the originals in the iTunes library file.  Workaround is to refresh tags so media file tags are re-read and used in library file.

https://discussions.apple.com/message/26335620#26335620 - user ended up rebuilding iTunes library from scratch
Send feedback to Apple about this so they know it is an issue they need to investigate:

Don't expect an immediate solution but maybe the next time they update the software it may be resolved.

  • I am trying to change my music library

Basically, i've been trying to 'update' my music library, and I somehow have some old music from my ipod on my iphone library. As far as I know I haven't synced these together because I don't like the music... Now, I want to delete these 70 unwanted songs but it won't let me. I really do not want to have to delete my entire play list and re-upload the songs I want because time is of the essence and that is simply to much fiddling. I can't even delete them off my laptop because they simply do not exist on it, I have tried and tried all sorts of different syncing methods and everything and it just doesn't seem to work!! It's really stressing me out, who knew something so simple to us is so awkward!!
    Thank-you x

Manually manage music is NOT checked.  I backed up all my phone information from my old 3GS phone to my computer, then connected my new phone to sync.  Everything else seems ok but music won't transfer.  It is set to automatically sync when connected.
