    That happens sometimes.
An "other" that large usually indicates that the "other" included corrupted files.  Usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
To restore to factory settings/new iPod see:

  • Cant update my ipod. unknown error (-69)

when i try to update my ipod, after a few songs are added i get this error:
Attempting to copy the disk "" failed. an unknown error occured (-69)
and then the updating stops. this always happens when there is only 4 gig on my ipod (and i have a 10 gig ipod!) so there is 6 i cant use now
I have tried updating itunes, using the ipod updater, i even tried multiple times to completely reinstal the ipod. but still i get the error when i updated around 4 gig.

I also have the same problem.
I have a 20 gig ipod. I am trying to update the ipod to my library (about 1800 songs) and every time the ipod gets around half of them updated, I either get the error -69 message, or my computer completely freezes up.
I've tried everything (5 r's, disabling anti-virus software, even just updating 50 songs at a time).
Oh and my other 20 gig iPod updates fine, go figure.
    Someone Please help me!

hi i have a ipod touch 4 generation 64gb and my camera is blocked and dose not work i cant update the ipod either

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Ipod icons shows up on itunes but i cant sync any songs.

there was a corruption with my ipod so i deleted all my songs till there was nothing left in my ipod and when i was done cleaning out my ipod i had to start from scratch updated the latest itunes 7.5 i think and even updated my pod.....the problem is that i ran diagnostics for ipod and the ports show that it connected and i myself see the ipod icon YET i cant sync any songs i have?? can someone please help me i need help and i need someone to give me the steps to fix this.

That is because you are in manual mode and there is no "sync" for manually managed iPods. YOU do the transfer by dragging and dropping songs onto the iPod and remove them by selecting them and deleting them from the iPod.
So if you dragged and dropped tunes from the iTunes library into the iPod list, then the songs should be on your iPod. Check and see.

  • I cant update my ipod shuffle

i used to plug it into my computer and itunes would open and it would connect and i could add more songs and update it...now when i plug it in nothing happens and i cant get new songs to go onto my shuffle..can someone please help me!!!!!!

Ok guys, if you your iPod is visible in iTunes, and also it is visible in Windows, after closing iTunes (but not in the same time in Win and iTunes), and you have sync problem (you drag&drop songs, but nothing happend or iTunes freeze) than try this:
Drag and drop (or another possibility to add song into iPod) and then unplug the mouse, wait 1-2 seconds, and plug it again. In my case (i am using notebook), this seem to be the pseudo-button which tells iTunes to start syncing. ******* Apple, I spent 5 hours of solving this problem, and I realise to try this. And It works. I don't understand why we must use iTunes at all.

  • I cant transfer my songs from computer to ipod

hi i just got an ipod video for x mas and i have all my songs on my itunes on my computer. i go to file( to transfer the songs to my ipod) and the update my ipod icon is not avaible. also when i first click on itunes, it say itunes cannot read the contents of the Ipod "IPOD" use the ipod software updater application to restore ipod to factory settings. i dont know what to do to fix this. also (this may be important) but i have 2 brothers who both got the same ipod i got for x mas. my one brother got his songs on his ipod no prob. i however had to create a new account on the computer to install my cd and i still cant get my songs onto my ipod.... by the way we all are using the same computer for all of our ipods, but that shouldnt be a problem.

    Hello Matt,
It sounds like you are trying to transfer music from your iPod to your computer.  I found an article with information on transferring media from your iPod to your computer:
iTunes: Transferring media from your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or iPod
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1209
You can also use steps from the following article to download your past iTunes purchases directly from the iTunes Store on the computer:

  • I cant delete my songs

i deleted a song on my itunes thingy and plugged it in, but i cant get it to delete off the ipod

There are several methods of deleting songs from the iPod and/or iTunes, and the method you choose depends on the settings you have selected for your iPod.
If you have the iPod set to automatically transfer songs, and you no longer want a copy of those songs on either the iPod or in iTunes, simply delete the songs in iTunes. Highlight the songs you no longer want then right click and select "clear", or from the edit menu select "clear". Next time you connect the iPod, the songs will be deleted from there also.
Only do this if you no longer want the songs on both the iPod and your computer.
You can also use the "only update checked songs" method in the iPod options (right click on the iPod in the source list in iTunes and select options, then select "only update checked songs"). With this preference checked, you can remove the check mark from the songs in iTunes that you no longer want on the iPod. The next time you connect the iPod, those unchecked songs will be removed from the iPod whilst still being retained in iTunes. You can check and uncheck songs as you change your mind about what songs you want to put on the iPod. Songs that have no check mark against them will be skipped over when played back in iTunes.
If you have the iPod set to manually manage your songs, and you want to delete the song from the iPod only, then select the iPod in the source list of iTunes, or click on the "music" option underneath it to show all your songs. Highlight the song(s) you no longer want on the iPod, right click and select "clear", or use the edit menu as previously mentioned.
This method only deletes the songs from the iPod, so if you no longer want the song in iTunes also, you'll need to delete it from there separately using the method above.
If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, all these settings can be found in the summary screen.
If you want to delete everything from the iPod and completely erase the hard drive and start from scratch, then you can restore the iPod to factory settings.
Only do this if you have the songs in your iTunes library, or a back up somewhere other than the iPod itself.

  • AHHH i cant update!!!

i cant update my ipod touch to 1.1.3 it keeps saying there is this bug that has been found and it wont let me! i downloadede the itunes 7.6 but cant do the 1.1.3 help!

If any Solutions fail. you may try doing a hard-reset. But do note that performing a hard-reset will wipe out all your settings , songs, videos, contacts, photos, calendar events from your ipod touch. It works for when my iPod touch was in firmware 1.1.2, not sure about 1.1.3
To reset, press and hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button simultaneously for about ten seconds, you should then notice that the LCD display will clear, follow by the Apple logo - reset is done.

    Hello AlexCornejo,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
The screen you're seeing on your iPhone indicates it is in recovery mode.  Now since the device is not appearing in iTunes on your PC, first follow the steps in this article:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
After following those steps, you should be able to restore your iPhone.
    Take care,
    Alex H.
