the finger print scanner stopped working when i log on to windows , this happened after installation of windows update
i tried solutions provided here , but still i cant use it, it works in the websites

The driver I have is the most recent version. This is a Firefox problem....fix it!
It works perfectly on Internet Explorer and worked on Firefox before the last update so it's your problem.

Yes it is called an inverter...one end plugs in the cigarette lighter and the other end has a standard AC plug like in your house.

Hi, I have a nokia OVI account, it works with my browser but when I try to log in with the OVI suite I get a pop up box with something like "could not sign in, nokia ovi suite could not connect to the nokia account server. make sure the internet connection is working properly and try again" some additional information -: I have a OVI account I can log in to my OVI using the same pc/laptop as the OVI suite I have real old firmware on my nokia 5800 and it wont update using *#0000# (the error is can not connect to server and your device is up to date when I know it is not) my current firmware version is V 20.0.012 and the other version is 20.012.224.06 my mobile is a Nokia Xpress Music 5800 dont know if this is relavant but when I check server settings I am informed that there are no servers defined Thanks for any help with this

Please check: Phone time and date is properly set
If you have a separate Nokia Software Updater application in use, download the latest Nokia SW Updater and install.
If it does not help, could you try reinstall Nokia suite?
- Go to Program and Features or Add remove in Control Panel
- Click Nokia Suite
- Click Uninstall
Uninstall also:
- Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
- PC connectivity Solution
Then restart computer.
- Download and install latest Nokia Suite 3.3.86 version from www.nokia.com/nokiasuite
- Restart Computer again
- Connect the device, do not open Nokia Suite and wait for all the driver to be loaded by windows.
- Once done then launch Nokia Suite.
- Check for the issue

Cant use Napster to go and zen micro windows explor

If i want to use my napster to go and have to use firmware --02, but if I want to use zen micro win explorer it wont recog. my device so I have to upgrade to firmware -2-05 erasing all my dl songs from napster....what i want to do is use my zen micro to upload cd's I own and use nap to go, not one or the other.....btw I woke up today and my micro is dead no matter what I try....so let me figure that out now.....should I take this back? my battery life is only like 6hrs!!!....anyway i want to like this so if anyone can help me out?

i see a lot of threads about charging the battery.
i sell high end digital cameras, have for 6 years now. i'm not talking the stuff you find at fry's but the really high end stuff.
this stuff also uses proprietary lithium ion batteries (actually the only thing proprietary is the connectors, all cells come from the same manufacturers)
the key to lithium ion batteries is:
) let it charge overnight the first time you charge it
2) it takes about 3 full charges and full drains to get the proper life out of it
3) they dont have memory, ever. i have several abused lithium ion camera batteries that can attest to this
4) replace after 8 months without fail
my point is, don't stress over it. my micro only got about 7 hours of continous playback with eq on and it just sitting there, and not much more with eq off. the player's life on a single charge and constant crashing when switching off are the only reasons why i returned it on sunday for an ipod mini.

Finger print reader will not work with password manager

i have the finger print reader working fine to log into windows but when i select advanced options for a password protected site in password manager,and custom security level ,when i click on protect with finger print,it says i have not enrolled any finger prints with client security solution,when i check the fingerprint tab in client security solution it shows my fingerprints what i have stored,why is this conflict happening?when i check my web email i want to be able to swipe my finger and log in not keep typing my password in,anybody know how to sort this??

As far as I know, your computer is not going to run SimplePass -- it wants to run the HP Client Security Manager.
There are some prerequisites as listed on the System Requirements page. Amongst these: the File Sanitizer Software, both .NET framework 3.5 and 4.5, and others. It is likely that your system has all the necessary software, although you may not have installed the File Sanitizer yet. It is available from your computer's driver page.
If you do not yet have .NET Framework 4.5, you can download install .NET Framework 4.5.1: Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1
It is of vital importance that you have all your Windows Updates in place. Make sure they are indeed complete. If you are one of the people in the world that do not believe in Windows Updates, turn them off later -- this is not the time.

You need to remove and banish that SimplePass software from the system.
Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features > find and remove the SimplePass software
Next:
Create a Restore Point Create a Restore Point – Win7 OR Create a restore point Win8
Close all your programs and Shut down the computer
Disconnect everything (little Unifier for the keyboard / external mouse can stay)
Perform the Hard Reset for your notebook
Boot the computer and log in
Reminder: Hard Reset is just a device Reset. The Hard Reset procedure does not wipe out your files nor does it destroy your Windows setup in any way. It just "clears the cobwebs". Depending on the cause of the problem, this kind of "reset" can fix a variety of computer glitches.

Finger print reader asks for password only

My finger print reader doesn't work the way it used to. It only asks for my finger print when logging on to Windows. At all other times it only asks for my windows password which is very annoying. What's wrong -it used to work fine. I reformatted my hdd and downloaded the latest drivers and programs using the system update program. My finger print reader version is 3.3.2.27. I have a T400 with Windows 7 Pro.

Additional info:
I installed client security solutions 8.3 and now the reader works with my windows apps, but not with my internet pages using firefox. Before I did a reformat, it worked properly with windows logon, windows apps and internet pages.
Why isn't this working properly?

HP Envy Touchsmart 15 finger print reader not working

Hello, I've had my HP Envy touchsmart 15 for little under a month now and it's been going great until yesterday and today, the finger print reader hardware has started acting up.I log into my account fine and then when I leave my laptop for a little bit, I then return to log in and it won't let me use the finger print reader, it doesn't flash red or white, it just stops working. So I then try to log in using my password but I can't because it's saying my finger print is not recognised and keeps flicking bad and forth to that message. So basically it seems to think I'm rubbing my finger over it when i'm not even when the lights aren't flashing or anything and to solve this I have to power it off with the power button, which is not ideal at all. This is a problem, any help?

I've had this issue on and off with my laptop, as well. It has persisted through Windows 8, 8.1, and even started up again after upgrading to Windows 10 this week. I've also done the Simple Pass uninstall/reinstall thing, as well as used updated versions of such with the problem recurring. I reloaded a fresh install of Windows 8.1 earlier this year, only to have the problem persist. This week, I decided to forgo the HP software entirely and start using the Windows Hello feature that allows Windows to natively access the fingerprint reader without any other software required. Here's what I have figured out:The issue seems to be caused by the activation of a power saving profile at shuts down the fingerprint reader out of perceived conservation. Disabling this feature seems to have wholly rectified the issue.Windows 10 has installed the most recent Validity Sensors driver for the device, and it seems to work well.Here's how I fixed it, which should work for you:At the risk of shilling for Microsoft, run all the Windows Updates needed to get your PC to prompt an update to Windows 10. (The HP software seems to be at least partly to blame, and I hated the latest iteration of Simple Pass.) The Windows Hello feature should work well, as this device is supported. All instructions below assume you have installed Windows 10.Before continuing, uninstall HP Simple Pass from the control panel or through the new Windows 10 applications window (in Settings).If you have the "My Computer" icon on your desktop, right-click it and select Properties to open the System window. Then, select "Device Manager" from the upper left column of the System window. (If you don't have the icon on your desktop, type "device manager into the search/Cortana dialog on the Windows taskbar, and select the top/highlighted result.)In the Device Manager window, click on the small right-carat next to the "Biometric Devices" entry.Right-click on the Validity Sensors entry, and select Properties to bring up a device properties window.First, select the Power Management tab at the top of the dialog.
