MacProtector and all of it's ilk (it's appeared under several names) is a scam and is lying to you. There are no viruses on your system, only the MacProtector "scamware". If you search the forums or the web for "Mac Defender", you'll find a lot of information about this scam along with instructions on how to remove it. Do not, under any circumstances, provide the crooks who created this garbage with any personal information, particularly not any credit card.
I don't know why Norton Antivirus isn't catching this, but it may be that it will block installation of the scamware but not remove it once installed.

I see. If you are syncing contacts with iCloud on both your Mac and your iPhone, deleting a contact from either device will delete them from icloud.com and all other devices.
What's really going on with iCloud is that your contacts actually reside on the iCloud server. Your Mac and iPhone are merely reading the current contact list as it exists on the server. When you delete a contact (or make any other change) on either device, you are making these changes on the server. As a result, all other devices "syncing" contacts with the same iCloud account will read this change. When you log onto icloud.com, you are viewing the server from your browser.

I did an iphone 4 software update. It then asked me to do a "restore" in order for me to be able to use the latest iTunes. I did a "restore" to "factory settings" (this was the only option listed) thinking I'd be able to sync later and get everything back and ended up losing all my purchased apps and iTunes. When I open iTunes, "Welcome to your new iphone" and it says I can re-do the "restore" and choose my lastest update. I assume this will give me back my apps and iTunes. When i choose to do this, it says there isn't enough space on the iPhone. How do I know how much space needs to be freed up? I keep deleting photos and videos from the phone, but I'm still getting the same message every time I re-try. I don't want to delete everything, but I don't know what to do...? Thanks!

Thanks but I think it has something to do with the 'restore'. in the newest iTunes 11, when I click on the tab "iphone", it redirects me to the "welcome to your new iphone" page and asks about doing a 'restore'. I already did a 'restore', but it went to the original factory settings and I want to 'restore' to my lastest back up as of April 12. When I choose that option, it says my iphone doesn't have enough space. I don't know how much I need to delete in order to make it work. I've deleted lots, but it only has 4.1 GB available. I'm not sure why this isn't enough to do a 'restore'. I don't want to delete all my photos and videos, but maybe I will have to?...7.7GB is used up for that. I can't sync or do ANYTHING...

Not a lot. Once the decision had been made to get rid of MobileMe the writing was always on the wall for iWeb, so now that they have made the decision there is absolutely nothing that anyone can do.
You can still use iWeb 08 that you have got or you can upgrade to iWeb 09 by purchasing a copy of iLife 09 or 11 from Amazon.

I bought a WRT320N Linksys router and keeps dropping out

I bought a Linksys WRT320N Router about 2 weeks ago. I am very upset that I did not take time to do my home work before I got screwed. I brought the router home and connected it. I am pretty familiar with networking these routers, I had the thing connected for about an hour, everything going good and then my wireless dropped out, my son started complaining he could not get his playstation 3 to work over the net, and then I did a speed test for the internet speed. I got 1 MB/s (Normally I am pegging around 30 MB/s, which is like flying, at least for me.) I was waiting for about 40-60 seconds for my homepage to come up. Disconnected my router from the computer and plugged direct into the modem and found I was still pegging 30 MB/s. Plugged back into the router and sure enough I was at 1 MB/s.I reset the router and charged on. The next day, same thing. So I called Linksys and told them what was going on. Well for one, the person on the other end of the line did not know about routers, I do not think she could even pronounce router if she tried. I spent 1.5 hours on the phone with her. After it was all done and over with her reply was " When it happens again, call us" . Oh yea, I want to spend another hour on the phone going through reset this, reset that. I already have done that.
Anyway, I got on this post and looked up my router thinking you guys may have better ideas than linksys, and of course you did. I read that these routers are overheating. So I connected a fan to the bottom of the router and I have air being sucked through the router cooling it down. So far it works okay. I went 1 week and 2 days before I had to reset. I connected a themometer to the case of the router and what did you know without the fan the router was running around 100 degrees F, the router was hanging in the air so it had plenty of ventilation. If the case is 100 deg. F, the insides must be frying. When I have the fan running the temperature of the case stays at room temperature or just a degree above. It must work some because I was going from resetting everyday to resetting every 1.5 weeks. I will keep you apprised of how the router is doing. I just have to say, Never again will I buy a linksys product. I will buy another brand until the engineers at linksys can figure out how to correct the router they have out there.

It is not possible that all WRT320N Wireless router's would act same, maybe the router you bought went bad, you should replace the router with the same model and that should resolve all your issues...

Slow broadband, and keeps dropping out

I've done all the recommended things: unplugged, reset, downloaded and run McAfee scans. Checked the lines via BT website, they say there are no problems in my area and that my lines are fine. I've checked on multiple computers, Lan and wifi, same problem.
Noise on phone line.
My hub is a 4.0, type A

in order for the forum members to help please can you post the adsl stats from your router if HH4/5 then go to troubleshooting then logs and you are looking for 2 line together when hub last connected to internet and they will show your connection speed and noise margin or if netgear enter 192.168.0.1). Then run btspeedtester (MAC users may have problems). when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post the results ( do not reset the router).
Lines should look like this

are you connected directly via a filter to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home?
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

I Have just bought an ipad2, I have downloaded the latest version of iTunes but i cannot sync correctly. The music is displayed in light grey font but with no album art and will not play. The photo albums are listed but with no photos inside. Do you have any answers to this? Help please.

Have you selected the content to sync to your iPad in your sync settings in iTunes. The content that you want to transfer must be selected (checked or "ticked") to sync out will not transfer when you sync.
For instance - if you want to sync music....
Connect the iPad to the computer and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Music Tab on the right.
Click on the albums or playlists that you want to sync - or the entire library if you like.
Click on the Sync Music Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
This applies to all content that you want to transfer from iTunes to your iPad. Make the selections in the appropriate tabs in the iTunes window on the right.

Well the question had a bit of obfuscation built in.
I trunked my AP from the local switch... native vlan 125. Vlan 16 is the dsl pop.
AP links to the WLC via 125. Flex ssid is linked to the local vl16. The flex ssid is wpa2/psk and the WLC tracks all associations there-too with MAC/IP data, adequate to create user/count data.
Too simple. I was thinking ACL's and all the rest.

Hi, I have had exactly the same problem as you. EE reset my account, I did several Network resets. No joy. Got a new SIM from an EE shop yesterday, started working about an hour ago, only to stop working 30 mins later. Switiching phone on and off, performing Network resets haven't helped. Phoned EE. They promised it would be sorted by 8AM this morning. Here's hoping..... In the meantime, I have topped up a PAYG SIM which works perfectly. Looking at this forum, Twitter and Facebook, tens of thousands of users appear to be having a similar problem. What rules do I need to include in Windows Firewall to allow Thunderbird out?

This issue applies to all mail clients I try (tried with Outlook too), but I'm asking here because Thunderbird is my preference.
I'm using Windows Firewall on Windows 8.1. I changed the default Allow Outbound traffic in Domain, Public and Private settings to Block so that my outbound traffic is restricted only to what I allow through firewall rules. I've allowed thunderbird.exe. But my mail client doesn't connect to the webmail servers and retrieve mail. Because I don't have an application to watch my firewall in real-time, I don't know if the specific disconnect is when Thunderbird tries to authenticate with the remote end or if it simply can't retrieve the mail (although my guess would be the former). But when I change the Block Outbound setting to Allow, it connects.
That tells me that I'm missing a rule, and just allowing thunderbird.exe out isn't enough. Has anyone experienced this issue before and know what other rules I would need to apply? If not, then would anyone suggest a good, free firewall analyzer that I can use to sleuth what's trying to get out?

My next big task is pulling informaton from my DB, organizing it into an invoice template and then printing it out.
I know the DB stuff but what do I need to use in order to organize that information into a pre-designed invoice and then printing it out with a single press of a button?

My program handles customer accounts and all of the transactions that I do with them. I need to get my program to print out invoices with certain information taken from the DB and organize it into an easy to read and professional looking invoice.
I have allready figured out how to use the Print Class so I'm pretty sure I have the information I need to create these invoices.
The "Single press of a button" comment was referring to just pressing a "Print Invoices" button located somewhere in my program that would print all of the invoices instead of going to a customer account, clicking "Print Invoice", preview the invoice, and then print it before going on to the next customer.
I think the only way you could help me at this point would be if you know about a class that will take a .txt or .doc file, replace words like %CUSTOMERID% with the correct information from the DB and then printing that document without changing the layout of the invoice.
