I changed my apple ID email address and ever since my iphone 5 won't back up to icloud

I got a new email address so i changed my Apple ID email to my new email. Ever since then my iphone won't back up to icloud. Its been about 2 months now and I'm getting nervous about losing my stuff. Is this fixable?

Did you ever change the iCloud ID on you phone after making this change?   If not, to change your iCloud ID, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID.  This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account, your iCloud data will reappear on your device when you sign back in.
To avoid losing photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll (if not already there) before deleting the account.  To do this, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.

    If the old ID ("email address") is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID.     Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with iCloud on your devices after updating your Apple ID.  I recommend the following steps:
    Symptoms
    iOS 7 may ask for the password to your previous Apple ID when you sign out of iCloud.
    Resolution
    1. Use your current Apple ID password
    Trying using your current Apple ID password. If that doesn't work, continue to the next step.
    2. Sign out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime
    If you are currently signed in to iMessage or FaceTime
    If you are not signed in to iMessage or FaceTime
    3. Change your Apple ID temporarily
    If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't work, try these steps:
    Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
    Tap Settings > iCloud and try to sign out.
    Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
    Tap Settings > iCloud and sign in with the new Apple ID.

    I changed my apple ID email address some time ago - I'm trying to log out of iCloud on my iPad but as 'find my mac' is enabled it wants the password in order to sign out, but the email address is the old one (greyed out); it says password or ID incorrect - yes the ID is incorrect, but can't be changed!
    And BTW in my iCloud account under the new addres, no devices have 'find my mac' enabled

    If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple IDand that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
    This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
    However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details and some other circumstances.
    The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device. It may take a short while to remove the account.
    You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

    I changed my apple id email address  last week, not a problem I just entered the correct info on my 6 apple devices for FaceTime, AppStore and iTunes.
    The issue now, is that I have changed my appleid password so that the kids couldn't install any apps and charge my credit card.
    Now I am getting an icloud authorisation error, it is telling me that the account (old apple id) or password are incorrect.
    What have I done and how can I fix it?
    Do I have to 'delete account' on my iphone and add a new one? I have just paid for the max icloud storage plan as well.

    I FOUND THE SOLUTION!
    I had the same exact problem. I had my old apple ID connected to a school email which did not exist anymore. My ipad was prompting me to put the password in for that ID and I could not delete it from my ipad because the "Find My Ipad" was turned on, once again prompting for password. I called apple and they said this Apple no longer exists and is not in there system, which I knew already. After hours on the phone nobody could help me. Try this.
    -Go to create a new Apple ID and use the same email address as the old apple ID which is locked in on your ipad
    -Create a new password and all that, it will say it send a verification link to your email, in my case my email no longer exists so I could not do this
    - I called Apple to explain this problem and I asked if they could verify it for me, which they did after I convinced them it was worth a try. The guy told me that the verification shouldnt matter and should still be able to login but he did it anyway. You can try skipping this step but if it doesn't work then go ahead.
    -Go to ICloud and click on your account, the email should be grayed out but it should allow you to change that password, put in the new password which you just created.
    -This allowed me to sign in to accept the new terms and conditions but it said "unable to conncet to server" so I just backed out and went to "Delete Account" and it worked!
    The whole idea is to re-create your old apple ID into Apple's system and then use that new password. The guy at Apple said tons of people called about this problem and nobody could solve it. I thanked him for helping me and he thanked me for helping him. I hope this helps you!

I've spent over 3 hours on the phone/chatting to online support and none of it seemed to help as it all revolved around resetting emails etc but can't do any of it without my access to my old email. Now my phone won't take cloud because they advised to set up new apple ID and use that, but can't sign out of old one completely.     If you're trying to update an application, you need to delete it and then download it from your Apple ID. You may want to erase the internal drive and install a fresh OS.

    If you update the email address on your existing account then you shouldn't lose anything (you may need to log out and back in for the update to take effect on the iPad). If you create a new account then all of your existing content will remain tied to your old account.

    What happens when you try to change the email address ? You should be able to edit your primary email address (as long as it's not an @icloud.com, @me.com or @mac.com address) by logging into the account via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes or by logging into on http://appleid.apple.com

    I just did follow Varjak's instruction, but it refused. I was asked to enter my Apple ID's email address which unfortunately is the same as my Apple ID. I created two different passwords for each Apple ID n primary email address when I set up my I tune account in the first place, however.
    I do remember my Apple ID password because I have used it every time I installed new apps, but I completely forgot my password for the primary email address because I've never used it at all! I have another email address which I actively use it for all my email. I want to change my primary email address which happened to be my Apple ID as well to the one I actively use.
    Because of the explained problem, I can't log in to Icloud as I have been asked to verify by following the instruction sent to my primary email address.
    I would really appreciate it if any one can help me solve this problem.
