I changed my e-mail address a few months ago everything was ok. Starting monday my outgoing mail can not be sent, it says the server rejected my e-mail address. Why ? I can receive mail but not send it
My outgoing mail gets rejected. I can get mail but not send it.It was working for about 6 months.
If the smtp is rejecting your password you should go in.
Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts
Select your Yahoo account in the sidebar on the left.
In account information tab you will see : " Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) "
Click on it and choose edit SMTP server list.
Select Yahoo and click on the advanced tab.
Now fill your new Yahoo password.

I bought a new McBook Pro and when I backed up from my old computer, the iCal on my new computer is not syncing. It says "The server did not recognize your user name or password for (name of my mobile me acct). Make sure you enter them correctly." Any suggestions?

Siri always contacts her own server at apple. They may be performing maintenance or applying updates, should be back soon.

I just updated my iPad to iOS 5 and now can't send email- I have tried the obvious but no luck. Any suggestions?
Usually 'authentication required' means that you need to submit a username (or e-mail address) and password to the e-mail server, when sending a message. This logic is not different between Outlook and Thunderbird, and even with the latest and previous version of Thunderbird.
Of course you can try the previous version again to see if it solves the problem, although you'll be less secure because you would be missing the latest fixes.
If you'd be willing to get back to Thunderbird, say if your frustration level with your new app would increase too much, please see our article [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cannot-send-messages cannot send messages] for further help.

As I own a Computer company I am fairly computer literate but cannot find a plugin that allows this to work in Firefox.... but I would have expected it to work in the new Firefox :(

cant seem to open up word documents. I installed original disk a few months ago and was working fine up until yesterday. When i went to open up word a question mark would appear in the backround and now the WORD icon has dissapeared all together.Any way of fixing the problem?
Use Finder and search for 'Microsoft Word'. If it shows up, launch it from Finder and when it appears in Dock, right click the icon and select Options > Keep in dock.
If finder does not find Word it has somehow been deleted. -

I bought an Ipad a few months ago and now it doesn't work
I bought an Ipad 3 a couple of months ago and it suddenly started to glitch one day. Every time I'd put the pass code in an it would unlocked the screen would go black. I tried to restart it and tried recovery mode and it didn't work. Sometimes when I turn it back on the screen goes blue. It seems that every time I move the Ipad with the screen lit up it turns black with a slight move. What could I do? Should I ship it to apple? How much would it cost to get it fixed? After installing the new Yosemite OS on my iMac I can no longer send email. I can receive email, but not send. I use gmail and can send email on the gmail (google) site, but not on "mail" on my iMac. Any others with this problem? What should we do?
My gmail, which is correctly configured for Mail with gmail SMTP and Google IMAP, works for awhile on Mail, which I leave open while working on other applications. But several times a day I get msg from Google: "We recently blocked a sign-in attempt to your Google Account" . . . and requiring me to verify my account details, re-enter passwords, confirm security settings (or change them from "disable" to "enable less secure methods" and so on). In Mail I also have tried "taking all accounts online", and re-entering my gmail password inside Mail account settings. These steps successfully re-set comms between gmail and Mail ... for awhile, then it happens again. Enough occurrences over a work day that I just quit Mail and revert to accessing gmail directly. Apple Care advisor and an Apple knowledge base article say that Apple can't deal with this, as gmail is third-party app, and they refer me to gmail, and so far I've found nothing helpful there.
From today I also have several instances of a window saying "Mail has unexpectedly closed" and asking me to Re-open it.
I also use Yahoo mail, which stops working with Mac Mail at the same time as gmail, but I do not receive notices to re-verify from Yahoo.
I recently upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite. The Mail problem happened occasionally with Mavericks but is far more frequent with Yosemite. -
I receive a pop-up from ICal saying the server does not recognize my user name and password for my me.com email address. This started yesterday and occurs about every 5 minutes or so. There are no problems with receiving or sending email through Mail. I did change me email password several days ago but have no problems sending/receiving since then.
I fixed the problem. I opened Preferences in ICal and entered my new password. No more pop-ups
