I changed my iTunes password and now I can't download previous purchases

I changed my iTunes password (but kept the same username), and now I can't re-download any songs that I purchased BEFORE changing the password.
When I follow the steps in the Apple support pages on how to re-download previously purchased songs, I am taken to my "Purchased" page in the iTunes store, but the songs I purchased before the password change don't show at all.  Only the songs that I purchased after changing the password appear.
When I search for one of the older songs in the iTunes store, the menu bar to the right of the song says "purchased," confirming that I did indeed purchase the item.  But again, I can't download it.
Again, I did not change my AppleID, only my password.
Does anyone know a fix for this?  Thanks.

Hi hyperslam,
Are you certain that you are looking at "Purchased" here:
And not here:
You want to look for your Purchased items under QUICK LINKS not under the "Store" heading in the sidebar!
Cheers,
GB

  • I downloaded the new operting system, but automaticlly has changed the calling tone and now  I can't download the song I had in the calling tone. Someone can help?

I downloaded the new operating system in my Iphone and automatically has changed the calling tone and now I can't download the song I had.
    Someone can help me?

Try deleting the app and redownloading by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • I changed my password and now I can't download anything

I was prompted to update my password when I tried to download a soBG, and after updating it (and changing my credit card info since my card was almost expired,) I can't download any songs or make an app updates. When I put in my password it just thinks for a minute and goes back to the beginning. No error message saying incorrect password or anything (since it should be the correct password!) I don't know what to do. And this is on both my ipad2 and my iPhone 5. Help!

Under settings, go to iTunes & App Store - logout of the old account and enter the new account and password.

  • I downloaded Itunes Match and now I can't download the music from the cloud on  my computer

When I click on the clouds by the songs no longer on my computer it says something about the apple id and not being able to download for 90 days. I need someone to help me fix this.

Apple have imposed a limit of 90 days between switching AppleIds in Match - this is to stop people attaching their mates commuters and copying a library that doesn't belong to them. The downside if like many people you have used more than one Id to purchase music you are stuffed. Apple currently do not provide a way to merge AppleIds owned by you.
If you have a small number of tunes on another id you can burn it to a CD and re-import but it is not ideal.

  • I updated my I D and now I can't download or purchase an updated game app

I can't update an app for my games since changing my I D and downloading the IOS 6 update. The info box pops up and says that I purchased the original game under an old ID ! Has anyone had this problem and what can I do to get back to my games? Also the rest of my Game apps are frozen!

When I downloaded the new iOS 6 while on holiday in Alberta.  Why there you say. My Husband is hunting.  Anyway as soon as I updated I immediately had problems.  The ID that came was one used when I first bought the iPad before it was changed to my personal ID.  Which I have been using for month with no problem.  Then with the upgrade it was like it did not exist,  So I re-entered my original ID and password.  I then tried to purchase a game that I had previously downloaded I like it so wanted to purchase it.  Entered my password and was informed that this app was on another iPad and I had to download it again.  What bothers me I have downloaded a few games will I have this problem with all of them.  And when it comes to updates on games I already have will I not be able to do those updates.  Not only that but games I already play have been in frozen mode.  I am so upset I was planning on using my iPad while my husband was hunting.  There have been a few times I have wanted to throw this thing in the campfire.  So any help would be gratefully received.

  • Changed I'd and password and now I can't down load or play games because the go under old e-mail how can I change this

Changed e-mail and password and now I can't download or play games because the still go under old e-mail address what can I do

Try tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores on your devices (Settings > Store if they aren't on iOS 6+) and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on them.

  • HT5622 I had to change my iTunes password. Now, when I try to download a song, it repeatedly asks me for my password. This is frustrating! Can anyone tell me what I can do about this??

I had to change my iTunes password. Now, when I try to buy a song, it repeatedly asks me for the password and doesn't seem to register it and go to the next step. It's becoming very frustrating. And, equally, if not more frustrating, is the fact that there is no simple way to contact Apple to find out how to fix the problem. I hope someone here has the solution.
    Thank you!

After you changed the PW did you go to Settings>iTunes and App stores and sign out and sign back in?

iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
    iOS- Understanding passcodes
A Complete Guide to Recover Your iDevice if You Forget Your Passcode
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup.
If you can not restore your device then you will need to go to recovery mode.
Placing your device into recovery mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
         1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end
of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
         2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the
red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake
              and Home buttons.
         3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device.
The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device
charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then
             start with step 2 again.
         4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
         5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
         6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

  • I changed my Apple ID (other email address and password) and now I can not login to my account in the iPhone iCloud. When I open the tab iCloud displayed my old Apple ID (it was in the iCloud) and asks for a password, but neither the old nor the new passw

I changed my Apple ID (other email address and password) and now I can not login to my account in the iPhone iCloud. When I open the tab iCloud displayed my old Apple ID (it was in the iCloud) and asks for a password, but neither the old nor the new password does not match. What to do?

If you want to change your iCloud ID or password on your phone go to Settings>iCloud and tap Delete Account, then sign back in with your updated information.  Note: this only deletes the account and any synced data from your phone, not from iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account and not changing accounts it will be synced back to your device when you sign back in.

  • I changed my Apple ID password and now I can't log into iCloud

I changed my Apple ID password and now I can't log into iCloud.  In addition I am unable to sign out or exit the iCloud System Preference page and have to force a shut down using the power off button to get rid of it.  Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

If the Preference Pane hangs, hit comand-option-escape and force quit System Preferences to avoid having to reboot.
In order to sign out you need the original password if you have set up 'Find My ....'. However you can't now change the password back to the original one (as you are not allowed to re-use a password). In this situation only Support can help you.
To contact  iCloud Support: if you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/
You will need the serial number of the covered hardware.
If you are not covered by AppleCare, then - in common with other free email services - there is no free support and you may be asked to pay a fee.

  • I changed my Apple password, and now one of the iPhones on my account cannot do FaceTime.  It says that it has to be activated....help, my grand daughter is going to assassinate me!!!

I changed my Apple password, and now one of the iPhones on my account cannot do FaceTime.  It says that it has to be activated....help, my grand daughter is going to assassinate me!!!

Yes. I have tried that. When I use the ID I had before, it sets it up as a new account and I don't want to lose my stats attached to my old account.
Let's say that my old nickname was "user10" and I used the email, "[email protected]" for my apple id. I changed my apple id to "[email protected]" and it changed my game center account to "mynew" and somehow I am friends with my old acct, "user10". I tried getting a password reset for "user10" but I apparently don't know my own birthday, which is possible because I usually give a false one, but the same false one each time.

  • I need to change my iTune Password and in order to do so I need to know my security question. Obvioulsy I forgot but it does not give me any options to remmber or get to some point to change my password

I am not sure if I am in the communit I need to but I need to change my iTunes password and when I try it ask me for security qestions that I obviously forgot...and it does not let me proceed....help

    Hey neener64,
If you can't remember your security questions and answers, the optional rescue email provides a way to reset them. You can read more about that here:
Rescue email address and how to reset Apple ID security questions
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
If you did not provide a rescue email address, you can't reset your security questions and you'll need to contact iTunes Store support to have them reset.
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
    All the best,

I changed my AOL Password. Now I can't send photos on iPhoto   It can't recognize the username and password. Any advice?

What version of iPhoto and of the OS?
    For iphoto '11
in the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete your e-mail account and reenter it
    OR
IMHO the better solution is to set Apple mail as the email client in the iPhoto preferences
