I changed my iTunes to run on my external hardrive and now it won't go back

I changed my iTunes to run on my external hard drive and then decided to switch it back to my PC...now it says it's reading from my PC in the preferences menu but it's still actually running off my external hard drive. Does anyone know what's causing this or how to change it?

VoiceOver changes the gestures used to control iPod. Once VoiceOver is turned on, you have to use VoiceOver gestures to operate iPod—even to turn VoiceOver off again to resume standard operation.
It's easier to use iTunes to turn it off. Connect to iTunes and go to the Summary Pane. Click the "Configure Universal Access..." button. In the "Seeing" section, select "Neither" and click "OK".

If the purchased content is not playing, delete the songs from the Music app by swiping at the song. Then go through the process of downloading the track again.

ITunes library help - moved to external drive and now my apps are gone?

I moved my iTunes library to an external drive, but now my apps are gone? I do have iTunes match and iCloud, so my songs are all on the cloud, but none of my apps are showing...
I copied everything over, consolidated, but I must have messed something up as I think I have too many library files on the external drive now. I can see all my files on the external drive, but they are not showing up when I open itunes. It looks like it linked to a new copy of a library as only my most recent apps are showing, nad none of my existing ones are on itunes. What should I do to fix this? How do I know which files to delete?

I followed the instructions from Apple support to move itunes to an external drive, did what it said (obviously I messed something up). I then started itunes and missed the part where it says to tell itunes where the library was, and consequently itunes created a new library with none of my apps or anything in it.
All of my music is on icloud and I als ohave itunes match, so all of my music is on the cloud.
I have read some of the other postings to delete the newly made (and missing apps) itunes library file and ithen point it to the correct library file, but I am now paranoid I would delete the wrong one.

I've got a 2006 macbook, and i have run out of disc space, and now it won't boot up, what can i do?

I've been running dropbox, and adding files from a different computer, and my laptop got jammed full, and now when i start it up,i just get a blue screen, or in safe mode, i get a screen saver type background, but no finder...then i get a message that my disc is full, and i should dump some files, but i still get no finder after that....
Pretty sure i'm running Snow Leopard...version(?)

Tried back way to download itunes 8 on a 10.3.9 and now it won't work!

I didn't realize when I bought my new iPod nano that it wouldn't work on my 10.3.9 iBook G4. I stupidly decided to try to download iTunes 8 without having to upgrade my computer. Someone on a blog said that you could download it if you went to /System/Library/CoreServices/ and changed the SystemVersion.plist. So I changed it to a 10.5.5 and it worked to download iTunes 8. However, now when I click on the iTunes icon it won't open. This is the error info I can find:
dyld: /Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/MacOS/iTunes can't open library: /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreVideo.framework/Versions/A/CoreVideo (No such file or directory, errno = 2)

Not likely. It may be that iT8 got far enough into opening to have altered the structure of your library and made it unopenable using your old version, but I doubt it. If you reinstall the old version, I suspect it will open your library OK.
The library is not stored in the application, so trashing the application will leave the library untouched. Of course without any iT application the library won't be very useful, but you can easily remedy that by reinstalling your previous iT version. If you want to use your new Nano with it, though, there's no way around upgrading your OS.

I moved iTunes music to my hard drive "D" and now it won't open!

My hard drive "C" was getting somewhat full, so I decided to move my iTunes music files over to my second hard drive "D" (I have a dual hard drive on my computer). When I try and open iTunes, it says, "The folder 'iTunes' cannot be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the 'Music' folder."
I cannot open the "Music" folder, because when I do, it just opens up the same window I was already in when I tried to open it. The main reason I want to open iTunes is so I can reset my iPod because it is not working anymore. The scroll wheel, the hold button, the backlight, and it automatically sleep mode (after not touching it for a couple of minutes) is all that works. I cannot click anything.
I have moved all of my iTunes folders back over to my "C" drive, but it still won't work. I also reinstalled iTunes in the "Music" folder, and it won't work. Basically nothing has worked!

How do I combine an old itune library thats on an external hardrive and a newer library thats on a newer computer into 1 library and keep them on the external hard drive so I won't use up all my memory on my newer laptop

I copied an old iTunes library off my old Toshiba laptop with windows xp and put it on an external hard drive. I have a newer Microsoft surface pro laptop with windows 8.1. I have a small iTunes library on my newer laptop. I want to combine the 2 libraries into 1, add newer podcasts to the combined library daily, but keep it all on my external hard drive, so I don't use all my memory on my surface pro. I have an older ipod classic that I have all my old library on. I love it and don't want to stop using it, but want to be able to add podcasts from my 1 library from time to time. What I usually do is download podcasts for a few weeks then, download them to my ipod. Haven't done any of this in about a year. But want to start getting regular with it again. PS I'm not very computer savy Thanks for any help or advice!

This article explains how to open a different library: iTunes: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file or create a new one. The assumption is that the whole library was copied to the external drive from the old Toshiba laptop, not just the media. If that isn't the case make a new library on the external drive in a folder called \iTunes and move the media inside \iTunes\iTunes Media before adding it to the library.
Once iTunes is using the library on the external drive you can add any content stored on the internal drive to the library by drag & drop or by moving/copying the content into \iTunes\iTunes Media\Automatically Add to iTunes. Make sure the option under Edit > Preferences > Advanced to Copy files to the folder iTunes Media when adding to library is selected. Once complete you can delete the original copies on the internal drive.
Should your library contain duplicates after merging see this recent post on deduping.
If there are ratings, playlists, play counts, or content stored on the iPod classic and not located anywhere else then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
Ideally you should backup your library to a second drive for security. See Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy for a suggested strategy.

That's not how to do it. You don't move stuff then set the iTunes prefs > Advanced.
Once you move the /iTunes/ folder, hold Option, launch iTunes and select Choose library... and select the ITunes folder on the external.
This will use the iTunes library file in the iTunes folder you moved.
Don't change iTunes prefs > Advanced.

Do you have sufficient storage now? And did you turn on iCloud backup in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup?

If I already moved Itunes media folder to my external drive and now my music is not matching up in iTunes, what should I do? I have tried my solution !?, and now I have 17,000 songs, instead of 9,000!
Should I just uninstall Itunes, and then reinstall Itunes, and let it do it's thing, and then figure out how to move to the external hard drive later?
Help, I screwed it up all on my own!
Any/all help and Itunes educated suggestions appreciated!

I have a very similar problem. Hope I don't confuse people trying to help us since the solutions may be different.
I had my iTunes path directed to a 2nd internal hard drive. Everything was working fine - except I found that purchased Apps were still being downloaded to the Mobile Applications folder on my main hard drive instead of the 2nd internal drive. I decided to retry directing the iTunes path to my 2nd internal drive, hoping that might get iTunes to save my Apps there. Big Mistake. Suddenly, there were no Apps showing in my iTunes Library Apps window at all. I verified the downloaded apps are still in my main hard drive's Mobile Applications folder, but I cannot get iTunes to display them in my Apps Library window anymore.
I decided to try downloading a new app and, sure enough, iTunes once again downloaded it into the very same Mobile Applications folder on my main hard drive, where all my (now orphaned) original apps are, but the only one iTunes will only display in my Apps window is the new one. I read you can redownload purchased apps, but my apps are not missing. iTunes just won't display them in the Apps window anymore.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.
