I chat user showing as offline

Okay so I have a pretty serious issue here and I will list everything hopefully that you will need. I have a 2008 Mac book (black edition) it has the latest version of Mac OS.
I am studying in Sweden right now and like to talk to my freinds and family back home in America.
I have a feeling my problem is with my connection or ports or something on my computer.
I have the latest version of iChat and all my contacts show up online except a few people. One person I am trying to contact also has a mac we bought ours together. Up till about two weeks ago I could see her online and then now she is never on. The others use AIM and have xp or vistas, so I know it is not a program issue. The one with the mac, I called her and we were both online, but could not see each other online. I know this is a major issue because we both have skype too and I can not add and she cannot add me either. So I am thinking maybe something needs to be erased on my computer. I have read other threads and have tried different ports, creating new screen names, even reinstalling both programs, I have tried using AIM instead of iChat... no luck.
I have tried to contact skype about this and they are not sure, what could cause a problem like this. Something that might help is that on Skype when you add someone you send a message requesting for you to see their activity (online/offline). She is not getting it and when she tries to add me I am not getting it either.
As for iChat same thing except I have her and my other freinds added and they never show up online...
Some people do though...
Any thoughts?

so I am trying to figure this problem out mostly with skype because i am getting a little more information, so here is what I have so far....

here is an update I make another account. and sent freind request to each person and Profile A was under nhinderson and Profile B was under goodandbad. I changed Profile A name to Bob and signed into Profile B and the name had in fact changed to Bob so the only thing I am not getting is a request to add the person why not

Lync client show contacts offline

Hi,
I have configured two lync server in my Lab enviroment. One is Lync server 2013 (enterprise edition) and another is Lync server 2010 (Standard edition). Federation is enabled on both servers.
On Lync 2010 client, i m able to see federated users of Lync 2013 server and their presence status. But on the lync client 2013, federated users are showing as offline.
Communication is happening properly when i start communication from Lync client 2010 but same is not happening from other side.
Kindly suggest.

yes. these lync server are setup in two different forest and yes it is automatic federation.
Users are also enabled for external access n fed.
let me brief u about my setup:
Lync 2010 Client users 1 ----- Lync Frontend 2010 Server -------Lync Edge Server ------------- private cloud --------Lync Edge Server --------lync 2013 FrontEnd Server -------- Lync 2013 Client User 2
from Lync 2010 client i m able to see users of Lync 2013 server and their presence status but on lync 2013 client, i m able to see user but their presence shows offline. But communication is happening properly when i initiate the chat from lync 2010.
I hope, i made my scenario clear. want to finish this at earliest

IChat shows me offline when I am online?

I hope someone can help me. I am running Lion with latest combo update. I used to log in as a .mac address to iChat but friends of mine are saying that the last week or so I have been showing as offline. I can still talk to them on iChat though. I today tried the same name with the .me extension and I show as online. The buddies obvioulsy have to be re added.
A freind of mine has the same issue with his AOL account. I was wondering if this is a Lion update issue? I have deleted the .plist files and such that have been suggested in other posts. It has run on this macbook for years with no issues until the last week or so, not sure exaclty when I was starting to show as offline.

This can depend on where your and the name you have are in relation to each other and the end cycle of MobileMe.
I will try to make this clear.
Any @mac.com name will work in iChat as a Valid AIM Screen Name (Original Trial account, Paid for account or Lasped account)
AT the launch of MobileMe any @mac.com could be linked to the new @me.com name that you were given if you had a Paid for account.
For Mail Purposes the names were/are interchangeable but for Logging into AIM they are two different names.
(they were/are linked for Apple ID purposes using the same Password and being able to acces the same Apple areas (iTunes, Apple Discussions etc.) )
Since June 2011 MobileMe has been in a sort of run-down mode.
Some of the services have already disappeared but the final Paid For accounts will run out in June this year (2012 for late readers)
People are being encouraged to set up iCloud Names (which also end @me.com)
These can be linking other Apple IDs (non @mac.com and @me.com names) to the new iCloud Issued @me.com name.
So...
Adding an @me.com name to iChat is in fact adding new Screen Name (it will have no Buddies until you add them)
I have noticed myself that older @mac.com names I have (I have set up trial accounts in the past) show up in iChat as MobileMe IDs.
It is the same in System Preferences > Mail, Contacts & Calendars

The Orange arrow and text shows wrong icon for an @mac.com account
The Red shows a Jabber account identified as a MobileMe account.
For some reason the Green has a misnamed account (it read @me.com in the details when it is in fac an @mac.com name)
Deleting the com.apple.ichat.AIM.plist should get ichat to refresh the Login to AIM when you restart iChat (it is this action that recreeates the .plist).
This in turn shoould change the Status setting as iChat then defaults to being "Available".
One reason that this might not happen is s second Login.
Second computer, same iChat/AIM details.
Different Mac User account on your Computer using the same AIM/iChat Account details.
Different App on your computer.
Logging in via AIM Express or AIM AV on line in any browser on Computer or phone.
(once this is done, leaving the page will not log you out and a default Login period takes over - it is 2 weeks !!)

Greetings, I am working in Final Cut Pro 7. In the timeline some clips show as offline. I tried going to sequence and reconnecting to media but it does not work. I can still see the video in the timeline and work with it. It just has the red box.

If the clips are not actually missing, you could try to refresh the timeline by using cmd-0 and then going to the timeline options tab. Then select name only where it says "thumbnail display". Press ok to accept the change, then repeat the process to add thumbnails back to your timeline.

I have a pc running windows 7. I got an Airport Extreme 802.11n Wi-Fi and the printer is now plugged into the Airport. The wireless router works fine but the printer shows as offline in control panel and in word. The printer is a HP LaserJet CP1525nw.

+For now I have it set to Share Public IP address - Is this correct for my Network Setup with The Airport Extreme being the only router being used ?+
This would be the correct setting if the AirPort Extreme is connected to a simple modem (one ethernet port).
*Settings I have Enabled*
5 GHz name indicates that you have elected to use the option to assign a separate name to the 5 GHz network. This will allow you to "tell" compatible computers to connect to that network, rather than the slower 2.4 GHz network
Use Wide Channels is recommended for 5 GHz operation.
Interference Robustness often does more harm than good and should not be used unless you know you are in a area with a lot of wireless networks and you feel that your network is experiencing interference issues from a nearby network.

I am trying to network my hp deskjet 6940 printer via a new win 7 64 pc. The printer is visible but shows as "offline" and will not respond.
Can the hp deskjet 6940 printer operate over a lan using a win 7 64 pc?

Since the site says the driver is already in Windows 7, then a different method of adding the printer will need to be performed to get the driver from Windows Update.
First, uninstall the printer from the Windows 7 system.
1. go to devices and printers and select Add Printer at the top.
2. Select Add a local printer.
3. Create a new port with port type Local Port.
4. The port name will indicate where the printer is located. The format will be \\<computer name>\<printer share name>. Leave out the < > symbols. For me, this would be \\mycomputer\printer.
5. The next screen will show a list of various printers. Click the Windows Update button to update the list to the most current.
6. Select your model printer from the list.
The rest of the prompts should continue from there without any issue. I do not have a photosmart 7760 to get the rest of the prompts from there, but it should work after these steps are completed on the Windows 7 system.
If the printer was added using the network option, then it won't work on Windows 7 and there won't be an option for the driver since a network driver doesn't really exist for the printer since it is not natively networked.
Selecting the network option is usually selected in this process and it appears to not work with printers that are shared from a computer. This process tricks the Windows 7 system into running the printer as if it was actually connected to the printer, but the port name directs it to the host computer.
Let me know what happens.
I did find these steps here in jimbo45's post. I did perform the steps with a different computer and printer successfully, but it should work in this scenario as well.

When you open a project you need to point PPro to the new media location and relink

IPhone showing as offline using find my iphone

Hey,
My girlfriends iphone 4 got stolen, as she didnt have the find my iphone feature enabled (my bad) She has since bought a new one and the first thing i did was turn this feature on using my mobleme account. However 90% of the time her phone shows as offline. I have tried restarting the phone, as well as turning on and off airplane mode. As well push notifications are enabled.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any solution that im missing?

Messages showing as Offline

Using Mountian Lion on my iMac and my messages keep showing as Offline.
I have opened the messages window and the conversations can be there one minute then suddenly just change to Offline.
I can send messages when it is in this state but no messages arrive.
The only way to resurrect the messages and conversations is to force quit the application and then re-open. Does anybody have any ideas or experience of this?

Launchpad show "server offline", but the server is running

I have a MS-Server 2012 Essential and it work very fine many years.
But now the Launchpad on my client is showing "Server offline"!
I have installed Teamviewer on my server and I can connect from the internet to my server.
Also a ping to my server works fine.
But the Launchpad and the path \\<Server-Name> in the file explorer does not work.
Can you help me, where I can find the error?
