I check the "stay signed in" box when I sign in,

...and sometimes it works, but mostly I have to enter my username and password each time I access iCloud calendar or contacts. What's up with that?

Nope, icloud is set to kick you after very short default period. That period use to be longer, but too many people reported security breach during first few month of icloud. Like left logged in on work computer or worse. I do not remember exact time, but I think it times out after 15 to 30 min.

Since downloading IOS8 when I log in to certain websites that are password specific, despite checking the keep logged in box, when I go back to home screen then back to website, I have been logged out and have to log back in-very frustrating-any ideas please?

To see registered devices in My account:
    1) Go to Account > My Account
    2) Scroll down, and ensure that that you first have an active subscrption (if you do not, you are not logged in to you Ovi Music unlimited account)
    3) Below Unlimited downloads subscription box, you should have a Registered devices box.

  • Adobe Reader makes me sign-in even though the STAY SIGNED IN box is checked.

I love the idea that I can view a document on my PC and as long as I'm signed-in I can later view it on my hand held device. But even though I check the STAY SIGNED IN box, whenever I close out of the program then come back I have to re-sign-in. Why won't Adobe keep me signed in as requested?

I run Kaspersky and will have to study whether it is responsible for the problem. Under its Protection Center / Application Control there are a lot of Adobe listings and then a lot of things to look at there; many of which I do not understand. So, you may be on to something Pat; but if anyone knows specifically what I should look at in Kaspersky (or elsewhere) to determine if a specific setting is eating my Adobe cookies ... I would appreciate the guidance where to look and how to fix.

Staying signed in at iCloud.com is not a problem for me. Try resetting your browser or emptying its cache.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

Do you have DELL Face Recognition ?
That software has been reported to cause this issue.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

how can I save a jepg file in lower case letters? I check the use lower case box in preferences but it's not happening. PSCC

Let's try a preferences reset: (Windows)
Press and hold Control - Shift - Alt immediately upon cold-starting Photoshop.  If you get the keys down quickly enough - and you have to be VERY quick - it will prompt you to confirm deletion of your established preferences, which will lead to them all being set to defaults.

  • Why does Googlemail not appear on the Start Page every time instead of going all through "more" and " even more etc, plus having to sign in even though I have ticked the Stay signed in box?

There is no consistency when one gets the Mozilla Firefox Start page. There is a line as follows :
Web Images Maps News Shopping Books more
To get Gmail one has to click on "more" which gets one a dropdown menu which ends in "even more" Clicking on this takes one to a page headed "Even More Google Products", including (Hurrah!) M Gmail.
Click on this and one gets the page where one signs in, even though I have ticked the box entitled " Stay signed in" and at last ones's e-mail page turns up. Very occasionally, instead of Books or Shopping on the Start Page "Gmail" is there which when clicked on takes one directly to one's e-mail.It seems a hell of a rigmarole just to get one's e-mail!

You can set Firefox home page to one of your choosing, see [[how to set the home page]].
If the keep me signed in option is not working, you may have a malformed cookie. Try deleting Google/Gmail cookies, for details on how to do that see [[deleting cookies]].

  • How to know or check the type of a field when processing a dynamic table?

    Dear all,
When processing a dynamic table i have a short dump because of a convert_of_type incorrect, so i would like to check the type of field-symbol <f> before moving the data (type char) to this field-symbol <f>.
Could you please help me how to check or get the type of field-symbol <f> (because field-symbol <f> is assigned dynamic, so this <f> can be type char, unit, or quantity, ...)?
The source code same as below:
ASSIGN COMPONENT lc_field OF STRUCTURE ls_data TO <f>.
MOVE lv_field TO <f>. (Dump is here when lv_field is char type and <f> is quantity type => could i check the type of <f> if it's char type before using this instruction "MOVE ..."?)
    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Vinh Vo

    Try to use this way
    WRITE lv_field TO <f>.
    Instead of
    MOVE lv_field TO <f>.

I upgraded my phone to the latest operating system a few days ago.  I really like the gray suggested text boxes that appeared when typing an email or text message.  That function has stopped.  How do I get it back?

  • In the shared variable properties box, when enabling aliasing, what is the difference between binding to a project variable vs. to a psp url

In the shared variable properties box, specifically with regard to a the target being an rt target, when enabling aliasing, what is the difference between binding to a project variable vs. to a psp url?

The difference is in the type of variable you are binding it to.  A project variable is a variable that lives within the specific project in which it was created.  A PSP URL is an address using the Publish-Subscribe Protocol (PSP).  You can learn more about PSP URLs here: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361G-01/lvconcepts/using_datasocket_technology/#Specifyin...
PSP URLs will enable it to communicate between different machines and also between projects which may or may not be open.  The project variable will exist within the project.

  • Checking the device ASM picked up when multi-pathed.

    Hi,
I may have missed this in the documentation but I'd can't find out how to comfirm that ASMlib has picked up the multi-path device rather than one of the real paths where storage is multi-pathed.
Is there a way to confirm the device found by ASMlib?
The environment is 11g on Linux using ASMlib.
The search string should get ASM to find the mulit-path device first but I would like to ocnfirm what has actually happened.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I've been scanning metalink again for inspiration on this and found the document "FAQ ASMLIB CONFIGURE,VERIFY, TROUBLESHOOT" (Doc ID: 359266.1).
    I don’t know why I didn’t find it earlier but that’s life.
By the way that is a useful doc to read.
This solution answers my question of “How do I know what device ASMlib has actually found and that it is using the multipath device?”.
First find the major, minor numbers for the device ASMlib is using.
    # /etc/init.d/oracleasm querydisk -d VOL4
Disk "VOL4" is a valid ASM disk on device [251, 97]
Next check the major, minor numbers against the device in /dev.
    # ls -l /dev/* | grep 251 | grep 97
    brw-r----- 1 root disk 251, 97 Jun 11 19:12 /dev/sddlmag1
Simple, I just hadn’t got it until now.
    Thanks for the suggestions posted.
