I click on one song, another plays.

Title says it all. I click on one song and a random one plays. Problem started after most recent update.

Maybe it's your settings under CONTROL on the iTunes menu. Were you able to have iTunes play all the songs?

That moves only the iTunes media, not the iTunes library (which is really kinda nebulous).
iTunes library = iTunes folder and all the media, wherever it is located.
The /Music/iTunes/ folder contains the iTunes library.itl file, which keeps track of everything in iTunes.
I do however still have the original MAIN startup drive still in the computer, it's just not the startup.
This is good you still have it.
Try this...
Hold Option and launch iTunes.
Select Choose library... and select the /iTunes/ folder on the original drive. It should be in /Users/your_user_name/Music/.
Don't mess with anything. We can get it cleared up.

Because the location for each song in your library is on your hard drive. If the hard drive isn't there, how can iTunes play it?
You'll have to move/copy the music from your hard drive to your computer's hard drive.
Basically, EASIEST way to do all this, if you don't care about your play counts, etc...
-Delete EVERYTHING from iTunes, so that your library is now empty.
-Go to "Advanced" inside of the "Preferences" window, found in the "Edit" drop-down. You can also access Preferences by pressing Ctrl+, (Press Ctrl and the comma key)
-Change your iTunes Media Folder Location to something simple, but on your computer. I use C:/iTunes. Make sure "Keep iTunes Media Folder Organized" and "Copy files to...." are both checked. You can close Preferences now.
-Now, drag and drop your music from your hard drive into your iTunes library. iTunes will automatically add the music to your library, as you would expect, and also creates a copy of each file to place into that iTunes Media Folder you just created.

You get this message because iTunes can’t find the file. This can happen for a number of reasons:
The song file or a folder in its path was renamed
The song file or the folder it is in has been moved
The song file has been deleted
The device containing the song files e.g. external drive is not accessible or the drive letter has changed.

One song wont play

I have one song that plays on pc but wont play on iphone 4 or iphone 3. Its shows up but stops at 6seconds. tried removing and install again. Bought it threw itunes and the it the only song on the album that wont play.

Sounds like you have accidentally unchecked all items. In the Songs view ctrl-click on any empty checkbox.

Purchased whole album,one song wont play

I recently downloaded a soundtrack album,all the songs except one play fine,if i click on it it plays for a second,then skips to the next song,i cant download it as a single track,it is an album only song.This isnt the first time this has happened,i have had similar issues with other album downloads,its always one song that wont play,with either the whole track playing silently,or just skipping to the next track,its really frustrating and i am annoyed that i have payed for something that i havent actually got,is there a solution for this? has anyone else had this problem?

Delete and redownload it if doing so is free in your country.

OBVIOUS MEMORY LEAK iTunes about:10.6.3.25 (upgraded from 32 to 64) but iTunes*32 process is in memory. clicking on a song to play or right clicking it adds 5MB. Did 32 have this problem and didn't uninstall correctly or is 64 broken too.

Unfortunately I was able to repeat the memory leak even with turning the Toolbar off. To replicate the problem, I was able to watch the memory leak each time I actively selected a new song with the iTunes open. I was able to repeat the leak with and without both Spotify and TuneUp Companion running and not running. The only thing I noticed is when both Spotify and iTunes were open, the memory leak from iTunes added insult to injure with Spotify which kept trying to sync up with iTunes local library which would crash Spotify as well. But I can confirm the memory leak is in iTunes 10.6.3.25 (looking forward to 10.6.4 fixing the problem).

Ipod turns off before i get to click on a song to play!

My ipod is acting possessed. Its updated to he latest software and everything. Its fully charged. When I open it to listen to some songs or play a video (i have the 30gb 5th generation ipod, i got it in december of 2005)it opens fine and then i click music, songs, and then it quickly restarts by itself. I tired restoring the ipod and even did the 5 r's....i really dont know wat else to do...please help. It syncs fine and everything.

Tamy is right, you need to have the battery replaced. Go to the Apple store and ask if they can replace the battery there. If not, you can have your iPod shipped to Apple and they will replace your iPod battery for $65.95.

One Song Not Playing

I have a 120 GB IPod Classic that will not play Bulls On Parade by Rage Against the Machine. The song will play on my computer in ITunes and on my old 1 GB IPod Nano. I've restored my IPod Classic to factory settings and manually transferred the song as well as reloading the whole CD. Nothing works and it is really frustrating because that is one of my favorite songs.

This is the second time that I've downloaded an album and one song off of it will play for 3 seconds and then skip to the next song. I've tried everything under the iTunes help and nothing has worked. Any ideas?
