I click resume on updating OS X mavericks and nothing happens,what do I do
I click "resume" on updating OS X Mavericks on my new MacBook Air and nothing happens. It shows Paused in light grey above 596 MBof 5.29GB in front of resume.I would like to clear it and start over.
The application manager provides activation and online features, so no, unisntalling is not an option or else your Adobe software would go defunct.

I have an Iphone 4S and ever since I did the IOS6 update I have not been able to update or downloand new apps. Itunes works fine along with everything else. I touch the update or download tab and nothing happens. Thanks for any input!

Firefox has been suggesting I update my software for a few weeks now. I happily click on "update now" and my Mac appears to be trying to connect to the update server. The window displays "Downloading Firefox" and the barber pole wait bar is moving. I've done this 5-6 times, for HOURS at a time, and nothing happens.
If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

* Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

i downloaded new FF 2 weeks ago. Since then i keep getting update window coming up every day highly recommending i update but when i try, nothing happens except blue/white moving bar at top of window. i have left it run for hours and no progress, so i close it. The next time I open FF, it appears again and again same happens.
If there is an urgent update, how urgent is it if I cannot download it.It's worries me that i can,t load it and how it might affect my security.It would be a great idea to uninstall Norton - you don't need it and it has a pretty poor reputation for mucking up otherwise healthy Macs.

Edit: To see whether you actually have Norton installed launch Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder. If it's installed you'll likely see some Norton entries there.

Try these two resets, then there is OnyX which you should download for your version and run. I'm hoping these will help.
SMC RESET
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and ALL peripherals.
Wait 15 seconds.
Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
PRAM RESET
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

I cannot get my time machine to work properly.
When I open the program I see the back-up dates on the right and click the date I would like to access. Nothing happens.
Next, I try to flip through the dated files but can't get past the first one.
The arrows do not highlight and therefore I cannot scroll to the date I need to restore an item.
What am I doing wrong?
Do I need to reinstall the software?
Any suggestions are welcomed

Lonnie SchwartzIt sounds like you're starting from a Finder window showing something that wasn't backed-up on any of those backups.
Try either selecting your Computer or internal HD in the sidebar before going into Time Machine, or pressing Shift+Cmd+C after getting there.
You might want to take a look at Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #15A, especially the pink box there.
If that doesn't help, post back with a bit of detail; are you still on Lion (10.7.x), what sort of Mac do you have, where are your backups (external HD, Time Capsule, Network Drive, etc.)? It might help to post a screenshot, too. -
I have an I Phone 4 OS is 7.1.2. The phone indicates I need to update some apps. I go to the update screen select either all or an individual app. I select the update box. I am then asked to enter my PW. I do so and select OK. The update circle spins for a while the goes back to saying update. If I repeat the process the same thing happens. I know my PW is correct any ideas?
I have the same problem. I have a store ID my family all used to buy things. I have a different icloud id for me and icloud backups. Store account is setup properly, and I can download new apps. It does not ask for a password for these as the phone is signed into the store account. You can delete an app and reinstall it (using same store account) and it will reinstall no problem.
The only problem I found with this is some apps I'd previously download for free are no longer free. Once upon a time my store list would show me an icon that an app had been downloaded before (think its the cloud symbol). Now there is no indication of this.
Also seems like something is wrong with the store account. When I tried logging in to type this reply with message with my store ID it immediately gave me an error message and told me the link was possibly outdated. But logging in with my icloud ID this message will load. Try again on store ID, error message. Even though we can log into our store accounts via https://appleid.apple.com/ and manage the account...something seems broken with how its attached to our App store. (I'm at work so not able to log into itunes with store ID and see what happens) -
I have set up my POP mail account but I can't display my mail. What's up with that. I have a POP mail account and it sounds like mail is going to my phone, because it shows I have 6 items in my mailbox; however I'm unable to see the mail????

Going by your profile your Mac has v10.5.8 installed. That is the most recent version available for Leopard.
You may be able to upgrade to v10.6 Snow Leopard > Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard - Technical Specifications

With Snow Leopard installed, iTunes would be updated for you. -
I have a shortcut on my screen to go to itunes. I click on it as I always have and nothing happens. I goggled and it went to apple which told me to reset my apple password which I did. Then it told me to download itunes to my computer. I didn't because I already have it and have a lot of downloaded songs that I am afraid I will lose. Do you know what has happened or what I might have done wrong?
It is also possible that iTunes is already running, but something is messed up (and it won't let you run it twice). Open up the Task Manager (cntrl-alt-del) and see if the iTunes process is listed. If it is, right click it and kill it. Then try to lauch iTunes again.
Or - you could reboot. -
