I clicked on a link of a site I thought was ok, but a bad window opened.

I clicked on a link. A new window opened up from https://rts.sparkstudios.com. It is clearly a malware window, I have not pressed any buttons on this window. Its close button is grayed out. I cannot close it. I can close firefox and restart the session, but the window comes back. If I don't restart the session it'll be fine. But is there a way to just kill off the offending window?

Try to rename (or delete) the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all file actions.

I am having one very serious issue that is whenever I try to click on any link on any site many unwanted tabs gets opened simultaneously & automatically with the following message "Firefox can't find the server at www.xn--14014r3c[a14-zta82fa5e1mxcs010gfam.com"
Some time it is seen that some 6 to 7 tabs getting opened with the above message. Please help me getting this issue resolved.

Ctrl+mousewheel will zoom, but if your finger isn't touching the wheel, then the zoom shouldn't change. Maybe there is an incompatibility with your mouse driver software??
Anyway, to reset zoom, you can use Ctrl+0 (that's a zero) or
View menu > Zoom > Reset
When you are using the orange Firefox button (short menus), you can tap the Alt key or press F10 to display the classic menu bar to use the old View menu.

No Click-to-Call links on https sites

I'm using Chrome 21. Phone numbers on NON-secure sites are converted to skype links fine, but not on secure pages.
Also tested and found same behavior on FireFox 11 and IE9
I just downloaded the latest click-to-call version.

Last time I checked, C2C was still not compatible with several newly released browser updates. This is the only information I am aware of:

All of a sudden, when I click on a link in an email (Outlook for the Mac 2011), it doesn't open in Firefox. Firefox widow pulls up, but no new tab. Microsoft says that since it pulls up Firefox, it isn't Outlook's fault.

I am not exactly sure why the menu did not detect the password change or if it was stored incorrectly after you changed it? When I find the result and attached link that I want, I click on it and get a "submit query" message on the screen and then am redirected to something completely different. This is usually not even a valid web page, but more of a "did you mean one of these" kind of things.

Even though you create your PDFs with Acrobat 9.5 your students most likely use Reader X or Reader XI to open them. The message that they see is a security feature to prevent malicious PDFs from being downloaded and doing some harm. Those links now have hyphenated boxes as their icons not the Amazon icon. Once I click on an existing link the Amazon icon is activated and replaces the hyphenated boxes. Literally EVERY bookmark / link icon is now a hyphenated box till I click once. How can I fix this? I'm running Firefox 8.0 on windows XP. This problem started this week. Before and After upgrading to firefox 8.0 from 7.xxxx. See screen shot example.jpg i've attached below. Double click to enlarge it for better viewing. Any input welcomed. Not a major problem but I would like to have the icons back.

Thanks. That solved it. I had my doubts since I wasn't concerned about my lost bookmarks. I was concerned about the broken functionality. In any event, restoring from a backup solved both the functionality and the lost bookmarks. I appreciate the response!

When i click on bookmark it says no site configured at this address but i know the address is operational on internet explorer

my bookmark use to work for www.kitco.com now i juct get a white screen that says no site configured at this address. when i go on internet explorer and click on favorites it is still there. what gives with firefox?

Did you try to type the address in the location bar instead of using a bookmark?
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (MAC)
You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry (Show All History or History sidebar) or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make a note of those passwords and bookmarks. 
You can't recover from that 'forget' unless you have a backup of the affected files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
Delete [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note).

Linking Edge Button to Anchor - cheat was working but now isn't...

There seems to be a few older questions relating to this but none of them look like they've been answered.. I'm hoping some people may have cracked it now!
So, I have made a button in Edge Animate (which has mouse roll over animations) and imported it into Muse. It's a down arrow at the top of a scrolling site for people who like to click. I want to link it to an anchor a little way down the page. I've read that it can be done with code in Edge but this makes the page jumps to the anchor rather than the nice smooth scroll.
I created a small transparent rectangle, added the hyperlink to the anchor and placed it on top of the .oam file. This was working fine for a while, but testing it today I can see there's an issue with the layers - the rectangle is shielding the button so the roll over effects no longer action. I've tried making the rectangle smaller but then the animation only works if you hover carefully around the outside.

I am using Mail for emails and I seem to have two different windows that switch between the two. The emails are the same but the second window opens when I click on any details and I cannot see the top of my screen with control icons for internet, file

I am not very tech savy and apologize in advance if my question is not clear. I use the Mail application on my mac and I have two users on my computer, one for gmail and another for my work email. All email addresses appear in the mail application on one page. When I open my email and click on a message it often goes to the other user screen and cuts off the top of my screen which shows the bar for Chrome, file, edit, view, history etc....Still functional but very annoying. How do I choose a user screen and stop having it switch back and forth.

When I click on Firefox, it won't open... the icon flashes as if opening but no browser window opens. It also does not appear in the task manager

I click on the icon and it flashes as if opening.... no browser window appears.... I check the task manager to see if it is open but not displayed... nothing in the task manager..
So I uninstalled it leaving my preferences, and reinstalled it but it does the same thing. This time when I went to uninstall it again wiping the preferences away (in case it is those that is causing the problem) the uninstall program said that I had to close firefox first... but it isn't showing up as open in the task manager....
Final though... the last few weeks I have had a page pop up to advertise a need to update this or that, a need to click on this or that... obviously some kind of bug/virus.... help me get firefox going again...

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. 
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. 
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
