I close Firefox is also still continue to download while watching video

When I close my watch, or watching a video, video downloads continues to close my firefox. Watch other video players such as Quicktime video link I do not see this problem.

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the malfunctioning extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. That will revert its settings to the defaults.
If there's no improvement, continue as follows.
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. Test.

Does the ATV continue to download while in sleep mode?

The reason why I am asking this is because I use an all-in-one remote which automatically switches devices on and off. So if I choose to rent a film, for example, and it's starts downloading, then I select to watch Sky while I am waiting, my remote will put the ATV to sleep automatically (the front light goes out) when it turns on the Sky box. So if the ATV doesn't download while sleeping, then I will have to make sure my remote doesn't put it into sleep mode.

Yes it will download as long has you have not cut all the power to the AppleTV (unplug it or somehow turn the power source off).

Firefox 5.0 stalls while watching videos (at least) and the only way to get it back working is to close it and restart it, and this is not right !

I have been using Firefox 5.0 for the past few days. I have been experiencing the following error : I watch videos and suddenly, the video stops. From that point, it becomes impossible to open new tabs, especially, I tried to use the search box (with Google or Yahoo) on the top right of the page and got no result.
However, if I close the browser and restart it, Firefox works again, until it drops again. I therefore have to close it and open it again every 5 minutes to read a video (the problem also appears when not using the video). The only thing that might cause this that is not Firefox could be my latest upgrade from Xmarks, however I disabled the thing and still got the issue.
I would like to uninstall Firefox 5.0 from now and put Firefox 4 at least until the browser is more stable, but how do I do that ?

I used to be able to close the browser and still have the download box open and still download stuff but now I can't...what happened???!!!

I was in the process of downloading something tonight and decided to close my browser. Unfortunately, the download window also closed and that meant my download was gone and I would have to start over again.
I went back and started the download again and the download box showed the file picked up where it left off but when I closed the browser the same thing happened again; the download box closed when I closed the browser.
The reason I close the browser is because my downloads download faster when the browser is closed and now that option is closed to me.
Is this a new feature if so I don't like it as a matter of fact I would say I'm very pissed off with this new development. Please go back to fixing it so I can close the browser and still download.

I went to about:config like you suggest and changed the the thing you said. There is no improvement. Instead of my browser and the download box closing when I click on exit button/link now a box pops up with the message "If you exit now, 1 download will be canceled. Are you sure you want to exit?
I don't need a box to warn me that if I exit that the downloads manager would close as well...I already know that and that's the problem. I want a way to stop the download manager box from closing when I exit the browser like it used to.

Video play freezes, but continues to download rest of video

So, on every single video, it will stop playing at a random
point in the video, and I will not be able to go any further than
this point, the video will continue to download the rest of the
movie, but i'm stuck at that point !
I have tried running a video just after I ReFormatted my
entire PC, it still did this, I wasn't running any programs at the

Ok, I've fixed the problem.
It seems to be a Graphics/Video-Card problem, make sure your
card is running on the right version, the CD-version it came with
is best, unless you want it more up-to-date !
Most people have Nvidia cards

NOTE: Remove the old drivers before installing new ones, PC

Why are the pages still loading so slowly? Firefox is also still using a lot of memory. I've tried everything and still have the same issues. The new versions never help either. The support section still lists the same "solutions" that do not work.

I have spent too much time on the same issues. Will the issues ever be resolved?

i'm also having major CPU problems w/ FF 29.0.1. when i restart the app it calms down again but after loading tabs it steadily climbs up to 100% after not too long. i have checked out the 2 CPU links/articles above and do all the basic troubleshooting and tips, but with all the FF tools & add-ons isn't there some sort of CPU monitor that has the ability to display which extensions/scripts are hogging the CPU? Activity Monitor on Mac just shows the total used by the app. it's impossible in my case to efficiently disable dozens of add-ons & scripts, restart, and test each one by one b/c it can take several hrs before the CPU starts to spike high again. i have no time for this.

No. When you put your computer to sleep/hibernate, download will stop functioning.

I can't get the videos I load up to play for me. When I push the arrow which should open the video, it then goes to a blank white screen. Maybe my question should be how do I load the Firefox so that it works correctly for my watching videos on line?

Hi all. I. Bought videos from iTunes and also bought the lowest amount of extra iCloud storage. I assumed the videos could be stored in the cloud and called back automatically to the iPad when I needed them. They won't all download, Apple hasn't answered my call for help via e mail, and I don't know what to do. I deleted stuff from the iPad and got rid of some of the videos I'm not watching (hoping to maybe download them again later on).
I don't get how the Cloud works, and I don't really know which article to read for info. HELP?

Not all video is available for redownload.
Purchasing more icloud storage has nothing to do with itunes purchases.
Itunes purchases ( the ones that are made available for redownload) are automatically available in icloud. you do not have to purchase any icould storage for this.
You should not delete anything. you should always have a backup copy.
Movies are only available for redownload in the U.S:
Learn more about which content types are supported for iTunes in the Cloud by country, as well as where iTunes Match is available.

Now that I installed Firefox,will I be able to download or watch a hole video?

If I try to watch or download a video it works for 15sec to 30sec an stops. I wait for 2min-5min or up to 45 min it Start's again. It shuts down when texting on Web browser or phone.

It is mentioned that a video/audio in Firefox for Android will stop playing when you switch to texting, or another application. I could not reproduce this, is there a url or testing video that can be tested here.

That ensure that you preserve whatever information that you do have.
It appears that you have not previously done anything to backup bookmarks yourself. I am thinking of manual backups or syncing to a second device.

Do not blindly do bookmark backup restores as that overwrites any current files with files of speculative / no value. Before you attempt to restore any bookmarks file always make a manual backup of the current one, or you may just make the situation worse. The Windows restore points may not always be effective and if they are it is rather a sledgehammer and nut approach.
It is possible looking for previous versions of the file ''places.sqlite'' may help. That is a database file in your profile that contains the bookmarks.

The profile also contains a folder of some automatically created bookmark backups. I have already asked above that you backup the whole of this.
I am not sure what you did exactly that caused the loss of bookmarks. If you reformat a hard disk that destroys everything. If you reinstall Firefox and use any option to remove personal information again bookmarks will be lost.
