the background to the toolbars had options to turn all 3 off, and since I wanted to maximize the size of my screenshot, I turned all 3 off: drop-down menus, the webaddress, and bookmarks.

Firefox 3.6+ versions have a feature to allow the user to hide the Menu bar.
Hit the '''Alt''' key to temporarily show the Menu bar, then open View > Toolbars and select Menu bar, so it has a check-mark. 
The F10 can also be used on most PC's to temporarily reveal the Menu bar.

Hey I'm a novice on computers but i've just done a full system restore on my laptop and put it back to factory spec, obviously i backed up all the data on an external hard-drive but when i have re-installed itunes and gone to import all my old music files from my previous itunes library as mpeg4 files it keeps telling me i don't have permission??!! *** someone please explain or tell me how to get music on to my new itunes without having to re-import every cd i own which is alot!!!

Other than iMovie, GB always incorporates the audio files into the GB package. So just save or move the GB project to the external drive, and you're done - anything you import, edit or record will be saved to the external drive.

Have you tried restoring your iPod, this will erase the hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings so make sure you have all your songs backed up in iTunes. Once the restore is complete a fresh installation should update from iTunes: Restoring iPod to Factory Settings

Lost all my tabs when my computer died and now I can't get tham back

I forgot to plug in my computer while I was browsing Firefox and it died. I was not worried as this has happened before, but when I reopened Firefox and tried to restore my 53 tabs (I know I have a problem, I love tabs) I was unable to click restore previous tabs in History. I don't know what to do because these tabs were collected over a period of months. I tried to rename the systemstore.bak file to systemstore.js like many of the forums suggested, but it gives me a warning telling me that changing the file may make the info unusable and when I try to reopen Firefox there is nothing there. Once, in the past I found a forum that involved pasting a link into the browser and being able to do a system restore in some way to find your old tabs, but I can't find this old post. I just don't know what else to do now.

You can try to restore a previous version of the sessionstore.js file.

First thing I think would be to do a search for the folder in case it's somehow got moved.
Failing that, you can retrieve the folder from your original installer disc using Pacifist.
Insert the disc (don't boot from it) and open the installer package with Pacifist. Navigate to the Desktop Pictures folder (might be a bit more fiddly to find in the package structure). When you find it, select the folder, right-click (or ctrl-click) and select 'install in default location' from the context menu.
Exit Pacifist and eject the disc.

If you are running Lion then all drivers are distributed through Software Update. You do not need to install anything, other than to install the printer in System Preferences > Print & Scan. If you already added the printer while it was connected using USB, you might want to delete it and set it up again wirelessly to avoid confusion. Or, give them two distinct names e.g. "Photosmart D110 (USB)" and "Photosmart D110 (wireless)".
All scanning functions are now performed using Preview, but you can also access the scanner through the same Print & Scan preference pane, or with Image Capture.

Yup, your question and Diane's answer helped me also. Tho' I had had problems before getting into the iTunes store I always managed to find a way. Today they had me blocked cold with the "Update to 10" advert no matter what I did. Other questioners are being told, incorrectly as it turns out, that they have to update their OS to accomodate iTunes 10 and upgrade to iTunes 10. I did the download which did not take up much more room on my crowded old hard drive and now I'm back in business.

I believe now you potentially lose all extensions, plug-ins when you use the new reset function, but you will let me know.
If that is the case, your find corrupt file method maybe better. However, I reviewed the two help articles and there appear to be more files than just the delete search.json file and a possible search.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder. I am confused. Then I have to find the folders. I think help articles mentioned how to find the profile containing the files, but not sure.

All my emails just disappeared, deleted from iphone...can i get them back?

I was opening an email and the application got stuck with a blank white screen. I turned it off and back on and all my saved mail was gone...everything I've received, everything i've sent...everything. All my accounts are still there and it is receiving new mail fine just like it should. It is just that all my old mail is gone.
Does itunes backup mail when doing a sync backup? I've never had to restore before so i am afraid...will it restore to original phone (blank phone) or will it restore it to what was on the phone before i backed it up?

No, I haven't been able to get them back. I have searched and searched and can't find any information on it. I guess they are gone forever...which really stinks because I use my iphone to send most of my emails so they were all on the phone instead of in my Outlook.

Many but not all Favicons disappeared from my tabs & bookmarks last week - how can I get them back?

I have been using many of these for years, eg google and tvguide.co.uk but now they show as dot edged boxes instead of favicons on tabs. Others are OK eg Firefox and Facebook. All these sites still display correctly in other browsers.
I have: cleared history, cookies and cache / deleted and remade bookmarks / tried safe mode / restarted several times / tried some recovery addons, but nothing works.
I updated to FF 25 at about the time I noticed this problem and am running Windows 8

Do you see the favicon on the tab if you visit one of those sites?
Normally Firefox should fetch the favicon from the server if you click a bookmark to visit this link.
You can check these prefs on the about:config page to make sure that they have the default value.

Try to let all favicons expire to see if that makes Firefox to store properly them once again.
Copy and Paste the JavaScript code in the command line in the Browser Console (Firefox/Tools > Web <pre><nowiki>Developer;Ctrl+Shift+J) and press the Enter key.

Note that your System Details List shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize some prefs on each start of Firefox.
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created it, so normally it wouldn't be there.
you can check its content with a plain text editor if you didn't create this file yourself.
The user.js file is read each time you start Firefox and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.
You can delete the prefs.js file and possible numbered prefs-##.js and user.js files to reset all prefs to the default value or reset these prefs to the default value via the right-click context menu on the about:config page or edit the prefs.js file and remove related line(s).
