I cn't download saved word documents from icloud to my mac? Why?

I use Word for Mac as my word processor. I'm a writer and publishers only want word .doc documents. I can upload to icloud but not download my word documents and icloud doesn't appear as a source for documents neither on the Pages nor the Word menu. why? and what can I do?

However, once a file has been uploaded from your Mac you cannot re-download it until it's been edited on an iOS device, which may well make this process unsuitable for your requirements. You may find DropBox a better bet.

Not there aren't any special settings for this. You just use the Open In feature to save the document into Pages. You could have a font in the document that Pages doesn't like, maybe something that you copied and pasted from somewhere into the document that went corrupt. But there is nothing special about the way that you save a Word document into Pages. You save it like you save any document or file into a compatible app.

You don't transfer documents to the cloud on iPad. The cloud is for backups. It's not for document storage. There are however, apps you can use like Dropbox, which are cloud servers, you can use to accomplish this. You set up Dropbox, the free app on your iPad. Then you download Dropbox to your computer. You get 2GB free storage, but if you need more, you can buy it.

You need to open the documents on an iOS device before you can open them as anything other than pages documents.

When I download a Numbers file from iCloud to my Mac, it isn't the latest version.

Today I worked on a Numbers file on my iPad 2 from 4:40 pm to 6:30 pm. A few hours later, when I tried to download the file from iCloud to my Mac, none of today's changes appeared. When I looked at it again on the iPad, on the main Numbers page where you choose the file you want, it showed a time of 4:43 pm associated with the file. However, when I opened it, the two hours of work was still there even though the time was off. I tried sending the file as an email and when I opened the email attachment on my Mac, all of today's changes were there. So the new changes are captured when emailing a file but not when downloading it.
It almost seems as if the file hasn't made it off the iPad and into iCloud, but I can't find any information on ways to force that or know if it's been done.

Two possible problems. 
1. BlackBoard never supports the latest version of Firefox, for a few reasons. Some schools don't run the latest version of BlackBoard Vista or Campus Edition. Also, BlackBoard upgrades seem to be tied to the "school year" cycle, the changes they make to improve and update their software seem to be rolled out for the fall term so that changes aren't being made during the normal "school year" and possibly causing problems for the schools. That also may be a function of their contract / payment cycles with the schools that use their programs.

iCloud does not have your music, don't waste time looking there. In iTunes you can download all the music originally purchased using iTunes, additionally, and only if you have iTunes Match you can download all of the music in your library regardless of where you got it.
iCloud is not a backup system, relying on it instead of a real backup will eventually cost you your stuff.

You can copy documents to the iPad, but first you need one or more apps on the iPad that supports the type of document that you want to copy - unlike a 'normal' computer the iPad doesn't have a file system, and everything on it has to be associated with an app.
For word documents the options include Apple's Pages app, and from third-parties apps such as Documents To Go ('premium' version) and QuickOffice Pro HD.
As to how you then get the file to your chosen app will depend upon what the app supports - different apps will have different ways of copying their content to/from a computer e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc.

Pull documents from icloud on my mac

Hi all,
I use a Macbook (10.7.3 as of yesterday Feb 1st, 2012) and my Iphone (iOS 5.0.1 as the last update), both have iWork suites for the respective platforms, have the latest updates as well; sometimes I have to leave my computer at home and show whatever to whomever some documents I have created on my phone.
I would like to have my Mac show the documents I have on the cloud (iCloud) and besides storing ANOTHER copy of the document on the Mobile Documents folder of /Library/ to use that same file I have on my real Documents folder.
This is resulting in double the files and VERY large too, a 2 page Word document without images, should not be 1 or +MB on a Pages file/.TEF file.
I do understand that documents can be uploaded to iCloud from the mac, using Safari, but having the Documents DUPLICATED it is becoming very annoying.
One should have the easyness to create a beautiful document on a Mac, automatically upload it to the iCloud and present it to a client without having to carry a laptop. Yes that can be done with an iPad, but unfortunately I do not own one.
Are there any real solutions?

Saving word document from iframe

Hi, ok lemme explain what m trying to do here.

using this code my file (testing.doc) will be loading inside the browser. From here, i want to edit the contents of this file and save it.
I can do it if i click away from the ifram and then use tab key to get the focus on my document (inside iframe) and then if i click on file>save as, it gave me an option to save the document in .doc format. but if i give a button there to execute document.execCommand("SaveAs"), then it shows me a dialog box to save as 'html', probably because clicking on save button, takes the focus outside the iframe. In my javascript code, i tried using focus() with many combinations but it didn't work. I need javascript code using which i can press the tab key unless and untill i don't get focus on my frame and then execute document.execCommand("SaveAs");
Or if you have better solution, then please lemme know.

When I download a Word file from a classroom management database, why won't Firefox open the file without me having to save it?

I have been using Firefox for many years with Blackboard products. In the last six months or so, when I try to download a student's file that is a Word .docx, it won't let me open it without saving it. Word .doc files work fine. I don't have this problem with Internet Explorer, but of course IE is clunky, slow, and doesn't fill in forms. Any help would be appreciated. Let me know if I can supply more details.

Pages tells me I need to upgrade to 5.0 to open documents from iCloud. When I go to the mac app store it says pages 5.0 is installed, but Pages says it's running 4.3. I just want to open documents on my mac that were created on my iPad.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You already have got Pages 5.0, but you still have got Pages 4.3, so Pages 4.3 is being opened instead of the newest version, being this the reason why you get a message telling you to update Pages to the most recent version.
If you don't need the old version, open a Finder window, choose Applications in the sidebar and delete the old Pages icon or move it to an external drive. I don't recommend you to do this, as users are complaining about the lack of features of the new version.
Instead, what you can do is to put the new Pages icon in the Dock by dragging it from the Finder window to the Dock, so you can open the new Pages version from the Dock and you can open all your documents with it after opening the application

After saving, word documents have been disappearing from my macbook air. Have checked outlook temp files, temporary files don't show them, can't find them anywhere. Includes coursework files that I have lost because I don't back up regularly. Even the finder cannot find them, word recent documents doesn't show them. 100% positive I saved htem. Hi there. If you have save file selected in word you should be able to find it. Here is some options. http://superuser.com/questions/845543/accidentally-clicked-dont-save-in-new-word -document You could select the finder, then Go from the top menu and then go to folder from the drop down list. Then type in private/var/folders then enter.

Upload / Open a Word Document from BDS with WebDynpro

we use the BDS (Business Document Server) to storage our word files. Now we use WebDynpro with the UI OfficeControl.
Could any one tell me, how to open/upload my documents from BDS with the OfficeControl.
The UI FileUpload does not work, because it is not allowed to use specify URLs. link:[http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/b3/be7941601b1d09e10000000a155106/frameset.htm]
For example that is the URL from the BDS: "SAPR3://SAPR3CMS/get/100/BDS_5FDB2_5FR/7B3AAF5B22AAD21197ED0060B0672A3C/Forminterface.doc"
I use the class "CL_BDS_DOCUMENT_SET" with the method "get_with_url". result is above.
Each example with the OfficeControl from SAP (Package SIOS) use the Mime Repository:

When I compile everything is ok. But when I run my application, it nothing happen. No word file is opening or no error message. I create a ALC trace (SAPNOTE 949770).
Each time when I try to open my word file comes a popup-window from the alc-trace:
