On the older version of the AE you can still use older airport utility.
But once you load the new one you cannot easily go back.. you can load an older 5.6 version though.. instructions below.
For 6.3 you need to run ipv6 local link.

2. Download and install unpkg.

Run unpkg on the desktop.. If your Mac refuses to run the software, because it wasn’t downloaded from the Apple store, go to security in preferences and allow other software to work.. this is limitation of trade methinks. You can set back later if you like.
Now drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. in finder, open the new directory, drill down.. applications, utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
You cannot uninstall version 6 (now 6.3 if you updated) so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. although I have had no problems when doing so.

Not sure what you mean here.
A reset will not affect any of the data on the Time Capsule hard drive. You would have to perform a completely separate and very deliberate Erase Disk operation for that to occur.
I'm not recommending that you perform a default reset, but it is an option if there is really nothing else to try.
I don't know if what you are seeing is a Mavericks issue or not, since I refuse to use any new software until at least the first major update with fixes comes along.
Another user may be able to offer more input on Mavericks.

It has to flash rapidly .. not the normal flashing which is slow.
Are you holding in reset and actually feeling it switch on.. and keep holding it until the LED goes crazy and flashes really fast.
If that is not working your TC is faulty.. I suggest you take it to Apple for testing.

To keep track of the battery charge and condition go to Apple Menu/System Preferences/EnergySaver and check the show battery status in menu bar.

Hi I am having Wi fi connectivity issues , while using my computer the wi fi dropped out , I can no longer connect and no networks come up. I have tried looking into the air port, trying manually to connect to the desired network with no success , it says the Wi fi is turned on. My 4s i-phone which is 2 years old cannot find any wi-fi networks not even my home network... I had the same problem two months ago but i turned off the i-phone for 8 hours and then it was okay... I am shocked to have found this same AX audio dropout problem starting TODAY, every few seconds the audio just drops for a couple seconds and then resumes: Latest software versions of everything. No iPad, iPhone or Touch. Internet hardwired to D-Link DES1105 (1000baseT Switch) hardwired to new 80211N AX, AX optical to stereo, AX Wi-Fi internet to basic 1st-gen MacBook operating at 80211G, and an older 'G' AX extender at the far end of the house, away from all this. The MacBook streaming iTunes is usually 12 feet from AX. I've used this setup for years of trouble-free AirTunes / Airplay until today. Today I also found 2 very reliable fixes and 1 way to force a dropout, but first, I read some posts and tried ALL following settings one-at-a-time and restored them ALL because NONE of them helped: Turned off IPV6. Streamed to multiple speakers 'Computer' and 'AX' (restored to just AX). Turned off 'Ask to Join new (WiFi) Networks'. Turned off Bluetooth (can't live without Magic Trackpad, so glad that wasn't it). Here's my discoveries: Lo and behold, each time I click the Airport icon in the Menu (you know it shows you've got 4 bars from AX) when the status switches to 'Looking for Networks' for a second it CAUSES the AX audio to drop out for a couple seconds (it never did that before today.) iTunes still playing, streaming, AX laser still lit, but the 'PCM' light on stereo and the sound GOES OUT EVERY time I click the Airport icon in the menubar, just like the regular, annoying dropouts. So, to reduce traffic I quit Safari (3 tabs, no streaming, just Gmail, Google, and Netflix browsing). Lo and behold, the dropouts stopped altogether. No other Web apps going (not iTunes Store, Genius, Ping, nothing), so I launched Chrome to the same 3 tabs and the dropouts HAVE NOT RETURNED. That's right, not only did simply QUITTING SAFARI cure it, and Chrome doesn't contribute to it, but I can demonstrate it just by forcing my Airport to re-scan. Works for me, written using Chrome. The other reliable fix is to hardwire MacBook to the Switch. This is obviously not ideal, but Airplay audio doesn't drop out over Ethernet. Also, in all my tests, it made no difference whether iTunes did the streaming, or Airfoil did.

Connected to my existing network, now how to get the IP to print?

So I went to the Apple Store today and bought an AirPort Express to use solely for wireless printing.
Here is what I did:
* I added the AirPort Express's MAC address and AirPort address to my AirLink 101 router's MAC filtering list.
* I first tried the Setup Wizard to "add to an existing wireless network." I got the amber flashing light which was a bummer.
* Reset the AirPort Express to factory settings.
* Then I instead used the instructions to do it using the AirPort Admin Utility.
* After using the Admin Utility for the setup, my AirPort Express shows the green light indicating that it has joined the network and now has an IP address. (Yay!)
Now the AirPort Admin Utility will no longer detect the AirPort Express even though the AirPort Express is 4 feet away, with a solid green light -- so I can't confirm what the IP Address is of the AirPort Express to be able to setup the printer (the default 10.0.1.1 doesn't work). I've tried re-scanning as well.
Also, it doesn't seem my router gives a listing of all the IP addresses of the components connected to it.

I have the latest and greatest Time Capsule and Comcast. Here is the weird thing. If I have one network set up, then occasionally that network will wedge. If I set up a 5GHz and a 2.4GHz network, then one of them (usually the 5GHz) will wedge. I saw this with a previous Time Capsule, Apple said call Comcast. They checked it out and said it was Apple's problem. Apple said maybe you Time Capsule is bad, so I bought a new one. The problem persists.
Tonight it's not complely wedged, but super slow. The 5GHz network is getting 0.45Mb/s while the 2.4GHz network is getting 17Mb/s. Both are coming in from the same Comcast cable modem. Apparently the Time Capsule treats them as separate.
Is it the cable modem or the Time Capsule. I am betting on the Time Capsule, since rebooting it fixes the problem. Resetting the cable modem does not.
Apple is NO HELP at all. They say reset the Time Capsule. Did that fix it? Yes. Problem solved! No, problem not solved. It will happen again in a few hours.

If you have separate user accounts on the computer, then your downloaded apps are stored in your iTunes Library. See the following for dealing with having multiple users on the same computer: How to use multiple iPhone, iPad, or iPod devices with one computer.
Using More than One iDevice on the Same Computer
This applies mainly to couples who are adding another device and do not want their email, messages, etc. being duplicated on both devices. On the computer create a new user account for the person with the new iDevice. This will be the user account that person will always use. He/She will no longer use the other user account. This way that person will have a separate iTunes Library
Start by transferring the new device(s) to a new account along with all your data. Save any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless they are already in the camera roll) by opening your Photos app, tap on Albums icon at the bottom. Help needed connecting iMac and PowerBook to Blueyonder cable boradband

I'm not too knowlegeable aboout computers, so please be gentle with me!
I have had broadband supplied by Blueyonder (cable) for some time with no problems.
I have now bought a G4 PowerBook and an Airport Extreme unit and with them to share the internet connection and to share files.
The iMac has no AirPort card so I want to connect that via Ethernet, but the laptop will be wireless.
I have managed (just) to get the network set up so the two computers can share files (so I assume the AirPort unity isn't faulty), but I cannot get either machine to connect to the internet when connected to the AirPort Extreme. I can only connect by plugging the ethernet cable from my modem directly into my iMac.
I used the Airport Setup Assistant on the laptop and ended up with a message saying that I was now connected to the internet wirelessly, but when I launch Safari, I cannot reach the net at all. I then used the AirPort Admin utility on the desktop to try to configure the
I expect anyoen answering this will need more information... but can anyone supply some pointers?
The desktop used OS X.3.9 and the laptop OS X.10.4 though I doubt this makes a difference.

Power down the cable modem.
Wait 30 minutes (go and have a cup of tea or something).
Connect the cable modem to the WAN port of the Airport Extreme Base Station (AEBS).
Switch on the cable modem.
Switch on the AEBS.
Wait five minutes.
Switch on the PowerBook and see if it now works.
If it does, plug the iMac into the LAN port of he AEBS.
Use the Airport Setup Assistant in the Utilities folder to configure the AEBS.
