I couldn't update os in ipad1,how to know what apps are supported in os5
HOw to know what apps supported by iPad 1
Try this link to find apps whose current version is compatible with iOS 5.1.1 and below : https://sites.google.com/site/appleclubfhs/support/advice-and-articles/finding-a pps-for-older-devices#5.1.1
Some developers allow you to download older compatible versions of their apps, so if it's an app is free you could try downloading the current version on your computer's iTunes and see if you can then download a previous compatible version via the Purchased tab in the App Store app on your iPad : Install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X - Apple Support . If the app is paid-for then contact the developer first and see if that will work, don't buy it and then find that it doesn't

How to know what reports are running by looking at SSReproting Services to see what reports are running and also any clue of which application is using the reporting services?
To see what reports are running, take a look at the execution log views that are available in the database. Which views that are available are dependent on your version of SSRS.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159110.aspx
To see which application is using SSRS is a little more difficult. You can turn HTTP logging on, which will give you an idea of where connections are coming from, so you can see IP addresses. You can also look at the execution log view to see
user accounts. So, depending on your environment and use of service accounts, this could be easy, or difficult.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb630443.aspx
If all else fails you can look for clues in the SSRS logs. Good luck... -

Anyone know how to see what apps are still open on lion?
If you do not have the light in dock active, activate it, or slide three finger up to open Mission Control or in Force qQuit all open programs are listed (even the hidden ones).
Hope that helps.. -
How to tell what apps are "running" in multitasking pane?
My understanding of how the ipad works is that when one presses the home button, the open app closes. However, when multitasking using the bar, how does one determine which apps are actively running versus which apps are simply displayed as part of the recently used apps list? I often have multiple safari windows plus a few apps open at one time. (I know I can view the safari windows by hitting the "windows" icon on the menu bar.
I'd like to be able to conserve battery life by killing background apps when necessary. But there is no "task pane" to see what's open at any given time.
Any help appreciated,

No, when one presses the home button the open app does not necessarily close if it is capable of multitasking (for example Pandors radio).
The recent apps bar is really for selecting among recent apps. That is to say it is a way to switch between apps without having to go to the app screens to find the app.
Note only a subset of apps are actually capable of multitasking and these are rather obvious when they are running. There is an indicator to the left of the battery level indicator which indicates this (>).
Let me give an example. I just opened an app called My First Puzzle Toys. From the app home screen there is no close or exit option. With the app open, if I touch the home button on the bottom of the bezel, does this close it? Or is it still running? Similarly, if I double click the home button and choose Safari from the list, are both then running? Another example: I just double clicked the home button and launched Labryinth. The game's home screen has no exit choice. If I double click the home button and choose Safari, is Labrynith still running?
Maybe I just don't understand how this os works. Do apps not use memory if they are not actively shown on the screen?

How can I know what apps are running in the background of Q10
My battery is not lasting more than 12 hours even though I'm moderately using it. How can I tell which applications are running in the background?
As of now, the BB10 does not allow any apps to run in the background unless they are baked in the OS or in the active frames. So if an app is not in a active frame, no app is running in the background. try maximizing your battery by switching to wif whenever you have a wifi network.

How to identify what apps are on disc
I already closed my other thread about G5 discs and unidentified Tiger disc.
I have discs 1 and 2 belonging to 2Z603-5439 set.
Disc 1 is a 2Z691-5025-A Ver. 1 for a Power Mac G5...nothing on grey label denotes what is in software bundle.
Does this disc work on any PPC G5? and does software bundle include iMovie, GarageBand, etc????
Need help asapThanks BDAqua
As Klaus wrote in replies to my other post I definitely got stabbed on this one.
"Lost" my Tiger retail disc so went looking for replacement...very hard to find
Found this supposedly full set on ebay, then found out it was for G5, but ad appeared to refer to ANY G5.
Of course not all the same, but Black retail disc will install on ANY PPC. I knew this and thought this came with one. Picture showed that disc, but what I ended up with is probably a seller labeled 10.4.6 upgrade disc in the set. This is only disc that looks likeit would install that version of Tiger. I tried it up to options page, indicating it would install the OS. Upgrade wouldn't act like that, so therefore this disc is definitely a copy of Tiger retail disc, but with "homemade" label
Thanks for the help......If I intended to buy a G5 someday I probably would get a 1.6 or 1.8 Mhz Single Processor one.Of course that isn't full blown but alot better than what I now have. -
How to find which displays are supported
Is there a way that I can find out what monitors are supported in 10.5.4? Is there a file in one of the directories that shows the various drivers? I had been using my Sony KLV-S32A10 as an external monitor, and it worked fine in Leopard 10.5.2, but with the upgrade it just creates an unreadable mess on the screen. I think that there must have been a change in the drivers and for some reason the Sony is not supported. Any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks.
Your best bet is to go to Sony's website and see if they have updated drivers for it.

Activity Monitor: How to know what processes to turn off?
I cant seem to find something like a glossary for the processes that appear in Activity Monitor.
I get the idea for using the AM - to find out what processes are running and how much memory they are using, however, I just don't know what processes are "suspicious", uneccary, good, bad or whatever. Anyone know of some resource to help me know what I should turn off?
Many thanks!Ah, in that case, watch your CPU usage.
When Activity Monitor starts, select either +All Processes+ or +Active Processes+ in the toolbar, and sort the list by the +% CPU+ column, so the highest numbers are on top, and select the CPU tab towards the bottom.
For this purpose, also select +View > Update Frequency > Less Often+ from the Menubar.
Various processes will "spike" up and down normally as they do things, then are idle, so you need to watch it for a while and get a feel for the processes that are using the most CPU, and the +% Idle+ at the bottom.
When the slowdown occurs, see if something changes significantly, especially if the +% idle+ goes to near zero. If that happens, see what process(es) are using the most CPU.
If the process(es) involved aren't familiar to you, post their names here (and/or check this out: http://triviaware.com/macprocess/all)
You may also want to select the +System Memory+ tab towards the bottom. Keep an eye on the total of Free and Inactive memory (if they're near zero, you may need more), and the +Page outs+ (if that's high, it's another indication you may need more memory). -
How do i know what apps i can have on my ipod
I was wondering how do i know what apps i can put on my 2G ipod touch
Look in the requirements section of the App in the App store entry. Since your iPod can be updated to iOS level 4.2.1 most Apps should run on it with that level operating system.

How to know my macbook pro supports usb2 or usb3?
How to know my macbook pro supports usb2 or usb3 ?
And if it is USB 2, will external hardisk which support usb 2 would be compatible with & vice-versa?
What would be the cons?USB 3.0 ports were only added to those MacBook Pros that were released in mid 2012 and later.
So you would have USB 2.0 ports on your machine.
But USB 3.0 and 2.0 are 'compaitble,' somewhat - you just won't be able to get the throughput of a USB 3.0 to USB 3.0 connection.

My steam won't launch ever since I updated to Yosemite I don't know what is going on.
Whenever I try to launch it, it says "Steam quit unexpectedly" I have tried redownloading it 5 times and have every software up to date. I also have tried
deleting all my steam files and it still doesn't work. Here is a screenshot:
I also downloaded a program called EtreCheck that checks for issues so here is what it found:
