First contact your ISP. You need to confirm that the issue is not on their end.
Change your router channel. Sometimes this is all you will have to do.
Power cycling the router. Read the router's user manual or contact their tech support for instructions.
System Preferences/Internet & Network/Network
Unlock the padlock
Locations: Automatic
Highlight Airport
Click the Assist Me button
In the popup window click the Diagnostic button.
System Preferences/Network- Unlock padlock. Highlight Airport. Network Name-select your name. Click on the Advanced button. Airport/Preferred Networks-delete all that is not your network.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined." Click the OK button and lock the padlock. Restart your computer.

No internet connection (wireless)
Check to see if an extra entry is present in the DNS Tab for your wireless connection (System Preferences/Network/Airport/Advanced/DNS).
Delete all extra entries that you find.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined."

Also try turning Off Face Time
Open Face Time
Go to the Preferences
Set it to Off.
Also make sure your router has the Time and Date/Time Zone set as this upsets Face Time which in turn upsets IChat

If your iPhone cell carrier allows you to use Tethering, you can turn your iPhone into a wifi hotspot, then your iPad Air can connect to that for internet access. Not all cell carriers allow tethering without you signing up for additional fees/services. For example, AT&T in the US still has grandfathered "unlimited" data plans, but they do not allow tethering for those plans. With AT&T you need to switch to a Mobile Share plan (or a tiered plan if still available) to use tethering (legally).

Likely because you are both using the same Apple ID? (and have Photo Stream or iCloud Photo sharing on https://www.apple.com/support/icloud/photos/ )
If you are using the same Apple ID you may want to consider changing that. It is now a bit more flexible to use separate ids with new Family Sharing features: https://www.apple.com/support/icloud/family-sharing/

I keep saying this over and over, in the hope that people who do a search will find it. Apple cannot possibly test for or be reponsible for the bazillion combinations of adapter, cables, and TV's out there. The only monitors that are 100% guaranteed to work with the MacBook Pro are the Cinema Displays and Thunderbolt Displays, because, they're made by Apple. They're expensive, but they work perfectly.
My guess is that you bought a cheap MDP to HDMI cable, or have a defective one. From my reading of these boards over the past few months, cheap cables have a high failure rate. And the regular priced ones have only a slightly less of one. Try a new one. Make sure you do not damage the Thunderbolt port.

Hangs with Javascript busy or stopped error on every website I open

I have firefox 20.0.1 and Java SE 7 U21 10.21.2.11 Plugin installed..I don't have any older versions of Java installed..I have checked and there are no older java consoles or plugins..
For last couple of day..for any website I open (Facebook.com, Espncricinfo.com, dx.com, even Support.mozilla.org or any mozilla troubleshoot page searched through google).. Firefox hangs..then gives me a popup error window with following message;
"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete." (message is followed by the path of .js script file..different filename for different site)
I disabled Java plugin from "extentions" , restarted firefox and opened facebook. I expected to open facebook properly and get a "no java installed or enable java" error at the most but instead same thing happened and got the same error message..
Even after disabling Java plugin I am getting same error on all websites...
Infact other than opening google and searching I cannot use firefox for any other website..
Even this message I am posting using Opera because firefox wont let me open this page also..
Anyone has any solution?

I have solved this issue..
First of all thanks everyone for suggestions...
Thing is I used to use firefox without any added extensions or add-ons..so my firefox only had plugins/add-ons/extensions installed automatically by programs.. i.e. Flash, Java SE, QuickTime and Foxit Reader plugin..
As previously stated..disabling any or all of thse plugins was not solving the issue..
So I backed up my bookmarks..
I uninstalled firefox... removed all settings and data and profiles...removed any leftover files too...
Then I re-installed firefox using "Run as Administrator" ....
And the issue is solved....
the Flash, QuickTime, Java SE and Reader plugins were automatically enabled after first use...
And so far I have opened lots of websites (which used to hang and give error window) without any issue..I have also played flash games online...and accessed content that needs Javascript enabled..
And I am typing this reply using Firefox only...which was not possible when I had the issue...
I don't know exactly what or why the problem was...but it is solved now..

Getting online with a G3 iBook (Dual USB) & Mac OS X 10.2.8

I recently inherited the aforementioned iBook from my sister - it's in great condition and will suit my wife well for internet, word processing, etc. It isn't equipped with either Bluetooth or an AirPort card - the former I've fixed with a USB dongle, the latter I'll (eventually) fix with an AirPort card.
In the interim, I'd love to just plug its Ethernet port into my ADSL router to get it onto the internet. I have done this and can't figure out how to get the internet "working". I was Mac prior to OS X and then again Tiger and beyond, so I don't have any experience with Jaguar. Can anyone help?

Been awhile now since I last used Jaguar 10.2.8, and the fact the Dual USB iBook G3 12"
with 500MHz processor and RAM upgrade capacity of either 576MB or 640 MB, with a
10GB hard disk drive or larger, and CD-ROM optical drive can run Panther 10.3.9 adequately
but a little slow, may give you an option if you can get the Panther retail install set on CD.
Panther has better internet tools and some other interface details are extremely improved.
And it is a stable system with a minimal of preventative maintenance. Frankly, I am not
sure how valid Jaguar is online; it is two full systems behind the leading edge now, and
will not have any security updates or support. Panther bits are still online, and if you get
a retail installer for 10.3.5 or later, the 10.3.9 and security updates and other bits are
still there at Apple Support Downloads, for free. Newer browsers are compatible with 10.3.x
and the last version of Panther is recommended. It is stable. The HDD can be zeroed;
the OS X can write zeros on there and then you can reformat it with HFS+ on Disk Utility
on the booted OSX installer (should be retail installer, not one from another Mac.) An
advantage is doing all that can fix low-level errors; and it also defragments the whole HDD.
If you were to keepsake anything on the computer, you'd want to archive it off; and then
consider if you'd need OS 9.2.2 to look at anything found there, in the future. I no longer
use pre-X applications, though I have some in a box. That's another story.
{If you have no attachment to the OS9.2.2 system probably shipped with the iBook G3
white dual-USB, you do not have to worry about it. On the other hand, if you do keep
9.2.2, it is fast on that hardware. It should connect to the internet, but there are almost
no browsers available -- maybe old downloads of iCab and odd builds of old Mozilla --
secure software? Probably not available; but the odds of an attack should be way down!}
With Jaguar you should be able to plug the Ethernet cable into the iBook, look into
the System Preferences and find the equivalent of the Network panel. You can
more easily do most everything in Panther compared to Jaguar; so I won't even
try to remember details on that OS X version. I do remember Panther since I ran
it up to about six months ago on one of my G4 Macs. I still have a bootable clone
of the entire computer from just before I went to Tiger. (There's alot of deadwood
between Panther utilities and addons and Tiger, depending on how it was set up.)
Jaguar and Tiger are universes apart. I had an iBook G3 white dual USB May
2001 build, it was fun, nice, and I used an AirPort Extreme Base Station to
go online with it; the unit had the original AirPort Card and my AEBS has a
built-in 56k dialup modem; so before I got DSL, my iBook was wireless online.
When I sold the iBook to an 85 y/o guy some miles away, I upgraded it to
Panther only and set up two user accounts with passwords; so he would not
have to learn all the basics - it has been over two years - he's still a Mac user.
And that's his first computer. I call and say hi and ask if it still is working OK;
and included a pile of stuff with the machine, and had it repaired before I sold it.
Well, I have said a bit -- too much. The System Preference panels have one
for Network access and you should be able to choose what sources you need
to get the internet through; these would be 1- dialup modem 2- airport wi-fi
and 3- Ethernet. There should be some control panel and checkboxes; and
the setup should be relatively easy. The only catch may be if the ISP does
not support that old an OSX system. It should work, if not, go wireless
and set up the base station so it can see and share 802.11/b, for this iBook.

Have 3g reception but cannot get online with new 4s.

I just got a new 4s and whilst using it this weekend in Cork city centre with full 3g coverage shown I couldn't get online. Resetting it worked briefly but then stopped and wifi is working fine. Any ideas? Thanks. Oliver

In the Airport Admin Utility, configure the airport with the following:
Airport Tab: Wireless Mode: Create a Wireless Network (Home Router)
Internet Tab: Connect using: ethernet
Network Tab: Make sure the Distribute IP addresses is NOT checked.
Have a go at that, if that get's you up and running, then I would suggest going back under the airport tab and turning on some form of wireless security. (I recommend WPA2)

Can't get online with 10.4.11?????

I have a 2.16 GHz Intel iMac and updated to 10.4.11 and now I'm unable to get online w/ mail, safari, itunes, etc. I'm wireless with a Belkin N1 router. My good ol' iBook 10.3.9 is working fine, so I know my modem and router are working. I've read other threads on the topic but I'm still having trouble. Any wise MacGuru out there who can walk me through this?

Well, I am able to browse the internet again, and actually i still don't know why exactly i wasn't before. The update seems to have fondled a bit with my network settings, the ip-address that I received from my local network had changed to a 192 number while normally this is a 172 number. After updating the network settings (actually nothing has changed, just some back and forth-changing) it got the right ip again and internet worked. I have actually no clue about the reason why it keeps changing ip's. Strange update this 10.4.11. Now I manually have changed my ip-address, hope it keeps working.

Cannot get online with netbook

We upgraded to Infinity but now I cannot get online on my netbook. The icon and wireless connection panel indicate I am connected by when I launch my browser (IE) it says unable to display webpage. My husband managed to get online by using Openzone but this is not very satisfactory when we are paying for Infinity. Our OS is Windows XP.

It's good you've got on line with Openzone, I presume from your own signal... checks that wireless connectivity is working between your Netbook and HH3.
If you go to your HH3 you can pull out a useful plastic card/tab which has your wireless code on it.
Then with your Netbook click on your wireless icon... probably bottom right and click on your wireless name.
This should say something like connect, enter in the wireless key exactly as shown on your tab/hub settings card.
And it should connect.
I removed the BT Help Desk software off my XP PC as it caused connection problems... kept saying connection failure did I want it fixed... say yes and click on the picture of the HH I was using then it went and connected.
I didn't have this problem on any of my other machines so as this XP PC was the only one with the BT software I removed it as it is uneccessary and the problem never re-occured.
A useful wireless scanner that's free http://www.metageek.net/products/inssider/ will show your home signals and
can help identify a clear or least used channel you can moved your HH3 from it's Automatic setting to this least congested channel.

Mine is around 40 to 50, a picture in my post HERE showing my signal is the strongest and my neigbours which is on a nearby channel is weaker.... If it was the same signal strength I would move my HH3 wireless setting off the Automatic setting and set it to a clearer channel.
Let us know how you get on... I'm using a Win 7 laptop but have the PC running win XP upstairs and could go thru the exact log in process if you still have probs.
