I created a new apple ID for my iPhone, but when i go to activate iCloud (for the first time) it says i need to sign up with my old ID. How do I use my new one?
So I used to share an apple ID with my mom who also has an iphone, but i decided to make my own so that i could set up icloud with my mac. I created my own ID and activated it and all of that, but when i go to activate my iCloud, it tells me to check the email adress of the old ID. How do i activate it with my new ID?
Providing your Apple ID is not a .me or a .Mac address, you can change it with Apple and continue to use your account.
Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
Once who have done this you can then correct it on your mobile device.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
When you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
If however, your Apple ID was a .me or a .Mac address, then you will need to create a new account, follow the instructions above for deleting your account on your mobile device and then tap the "create Apple ID" button to create a new account.

If you registrate one Apple ID for each iPhone/iPad, you'll get 5GB on iCloud for each Apple ID, right? I have two iPhones and one iPad with the same Apple ID, why can't I get 5 GB fo each of them?
Actually, everyone missed one point, when a device is priced, the cost of icloud storage space for that device is also included in it that is why they are able to give you 5gb each for each user ID, in nutshell there is nothing free coming with apple device purchase, it is paid for. What they are trying by giving only 5gb per user ID irrespective of the number of devices used is pure broadlight looting, they take money from you when you buy each device and give you nothing, This is a case of goods and services bought but not fully deliverd ie apple can be suied for discreminatory treatment towards it's users. I wonder why no one tried this yet in America where everyone sue everyone for petty things..... there is no one to take up this issue? . if tim got any love for the guys who shell out money for the devices his company makes, he should be implimenting this as priority before someone wake up from sleep and sue him.

I just set up a new computer running Windows 8.1. When I go to my icloud photostream, the pictures are in PNG format NOT JPG. When I open and upload photos from the photostream, the resolution is so low that the image quality is terrible. Help?!?
Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. You can only have five computers authorized for one iTunes account. You need to deauthorize another computer and then authorize this computer. If yu do not have access to the other computers you can deauthorthize all computer and then authorize the one you want. You can only deauthorize all once a year. No. Quit and try again. If that fails again,
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

I changed my apple ID successfully online on my iPad and iPhone but when I wish to buy an app, the old ID comes up automatically and there seems to be nothing I can do, so I cannot update or buy any apps.

If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too. -
I just switch from a Windows 8 machine to a MacPro and when I try and sync my iPhone 5s for the first time it says that sync will erase everything on my phone because it is still synced to my old computer. Any suggestions?

When you saw this dialog box, did you choose "Erase and Sync"?
If you did, your iPhone was erased, then your iTunes Library was transferred to it. If your iTunes Library was empty, your iPhone will be also.
Your previously purchased music, apps, books, and videos are still yours. You just have to download them again.

Recently, I bought a new laptop (a Lenovo), so I downloaded iTunes to it. When I bought new music from iTunes for the first time on the new computer, I went to my music library and there was no music, except for the new songs I had just bought. I have no idea what happened, I've had hundreds of songs I've bought from iTunes or downloaded from bought CDs over the years, which are all still on my iPod (nano, from 2008), and suddenly they just didn't seem to exist. I have yet to access the iTunes account on my previous laptop to see if my music is still there, but I would assume yes. When I went to sync my iPod to my iTunes to at least get the new songs to the iPod (so that my complete library can be on at least one device), I realized that in order to sync my iPod to my iTunes, I would be deleting all my old music and replacing it with the new. So now, I only have a few new songs on my laptop's iTunes, and only my old songs on my iPod. In both cases I paid for all the music, so I don't want to just delete any of it. Is there any way to fix this?
Also-I tried to use my backup hard drive, but I wasn't able to drag/transfer/send/move any of my muic files onto my iTouch when the iTouch was connected to my computer. I can't figure out why it won't let me do that.
The only thing I can see when I open my iTouch on my computer is my file with photos. I can't see videos, music, or anything else. What's going on? -
My iPhone 5 gives the caller a busy tone the first time when the phone is actually not in use. The caller has to make another call to get the ringtone. I will get the first call as missed with no ringtone and then the second time it will ring. What can be fond to solve this problem ?

So I plugged in my iPhone 5 to my computer for the first time and I accedentally pressed restore. My wife has a iPhone 4s and has plugged in her phone to the computer many times to sync. So when i restored i got all her photos and lost mine which were very very importent. So how do I get my photos back?
Unless your photos were backed up somewhere, they're gone. They were wiped off your phone when you restored it from your wife's data.

You can't delete iTunrd accounts, all you can do is remove personal info from them and stop using them - any content that you downloaded with an account will remain tied to it.
As apps are tied to the account, you can only make in-app purchases using the account that you bought the app with - so you will only be able to make in-app purchases using the old account.
For the app update, if you don't recognise the account id is showing for the app, then did somebody else download that app onto your iPad ? Only the account that bought/downloaded an app can download updates to its apps. -
My new macbook air says I need to sign in with another id to download app store updates

Did you purchase a second-hand Mac? If so, this is the answer. You need to purchase Mountain Lion by reinstalling the original Mac OS X version that came with your MacBook.
If you didn't purchase a second-hand Mac and you have a Mid 2012 or Mid 2013 MacBook Air, make sure you started up in Recovery HD and that you are using the Apple ID you used to set up your MacBook Air. Another option is to use Internet Recovery (hold Command, Option and R keys while your Mac is starting), because some users said it doesn't require any Apple ID.
