I created an extra iTunes library for my wife and now i can't find either of them
I created an extra iTunes library for my wife by following the instructions on Apples website and everything was working perfect. So when I opened iTunes i could select whether i was using her phone or mine.
Everything was perfect then today I have turned my Macbook on as I wanted to transfer a CD onto my phone. I plugged my phone in and selected iTunes then selected "choose iTunes library" I can not find either iTunes folders anywhere. I have been searching my Macbook for the last two hours and can't find anything anywhere.
Can anybody help???

Try this...
Quit the Mac App Store if it's open. From the menu bar App Store/ Quit App Store. Or Command + Q on your keyboard.
Launch iTunes. From the iTunes menu bar click iTunes / Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Click: *Reset warnings and Reset cache*. Now go back to the menu bar and click Store / Sign Out.
Try the MAS. If you still have problems, follow the paths here. ~ (Tilde) represents your Home folder.
~/Library/Caches.com.apple.appsstore./Cache.db. Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
~/Library/Preferences. Move the com.apple.appstore.plist and com.apple.storeagent.plist files to the Trash.
~/Library/Cookies. Move the com.apple.appstore.plist and the Cookies.plist files to the Trash.
Restart your Mac. Relaunch the MAS. Try again.

I pressed held down shift when I opened iTunes to follow the method to create separate iTunes libraries, and now I cannot find my original iTunes. I am so frustrated.
Does the original library file still exist on the computer? Hopefully when creating the new library it was done in a seperate folder as I do not believe iTunes allows for two library files in the same location.

I now get this message: "The song could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" So, I click yes and it can't seem to be found. I log into my apple account and download all my past purchases again. This fixes a few of the songs, however songs I downloaded from CDs years ago are now not available to me and some purchases from years past via my previous imac. I was told by several Apple Geniuses that my Time Machine would back everything up, and it seems that it has. I restored them, I guess because they show in my library. Only this time they have exc!amation points and say the files can't be found?! How are they listed but not there? Ugh! Did I put the files somewhere I shouldn't have? I guess it's entirely possible that I don't know where they were supposed to be. I don't have these CDs anymore. iTunes and my iPod have made moving them obsolete so I got rid of them. Please don't suggest I download the CDs again because that is an impossibility. I do however need some direction on what I may have possibly done wrong. I'm super frustrated. I tried again just yesterday and can't find where the original files were restored so I can restore from the proper place.If there is a cure you may find the folks over here have more information for you. I bought a movie from itunes on my mac air and now I can't find it.
I bought the movie Beautiful Creatures from iTunes on my Mac Air. I was in the middle of downloading it, when iTunes crashed and I had to reopen it. When I did, the movie was gone and so was the currently downloading option. I spent $20 on this movie and it seems the only option is to buy it again. I could really use some help! Thanks

Itunes 10.5.2 Issues! Been "Updating iTunes Library" for over 8 hrs now. Not even halfway finished on about 275 GB
Anyone else having issues with this update?!?!?!
Can't access anything in my library while it's doing this.I moved into a clean install last night and when I fired up iTunes 10.5.1. I held down "option" key, selected my original library and everything was perfect. That was until I quit. It started to "update" the library. I was slightly concerned, but since I had just moved into a new install I let it go and hoped for the best. For 85GB it took quite a while, close to an hour. This made me a little more concerned, but in the light of Apple, I resigned myself to the fact that "stuff" happens. And again hoped for the best. So I would imagine for 275GB would be a lot more. THEN after that was done it asked if I wanted it do something to match my settings? ***? My settings were the same as they were in the previous install. Or did something not go right with 10.5.1 in the other install and this was overlooked? I OK'd it and hoped for the best again.
But now I am getting an error as I startup iTunes:
"A required iTunes component is not installed. Please reinstall iTunes. (-42404)"
iTunes comes up just fine behind this error and after dismissing it all is just fine. Or so I think or am led to believe. I'm thinking it's a "phone home" component, so I'm not real concerned. That's why I came here today to look up this error and stumbled on this post that somewhat happened to me last night.
Looks like the process takes a while. And what it's updating I'm not sure, but I run nightly updates and all the "important" iTunes files in many iterations are safely backed up for reversion. Apple, never a dull moment . . . -
I have an iPhone and sync it with iTunes. Just got my wife an iPhone also. Is it possible to have 2 accounts in iTunes 1 for my wife and 1 for myself? I don't want to mess up things like contacts on either phone.
The best is to create another Windows user profile(additional User Account) where each one of you can manage your own account, library, playlist Apps, Contacts etc,

I was trying to add an itunes library to my computer, and now my itunes library can not be found. An ipod can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. How can I find my Itunes library, complete with playlists ?

Check to make sure that in iTunes Preferences that Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases is check or check in the iTunes Store under Purchased to see if it rests there. If you still cannot locate them, the report the issue to the iTunes Store.

I deleted some videos on my ipad before synching with my library, and now I can't find them. How can i get them back?
Do you live in the United States? If you do then you can download them again for free - as long as the movies are available for free downloads. Apple has not forged agreements with every movie studio yet so you just have to check.
Launch iTunes, and tap on the purchased tab. In the upper left corner you will see a "View" button. Tap that in order to toggle among music, TV Shows and Movies. Select Movies and then see if the movies appear. If they do, tap the Movie icon and then tap the cloud icon next to the icon in order to begin the download.
You have to use the same Apple ID that you used to purchase them.
If you do not live in the U.S. then you will have to purchase them again. -
I saved an iMovie to DVD and now I can't find the original working files in iMovie Project library to make additional edits. What happened to the files? Thx!
Did you do the moving of the image file in the Finder or do you have a reference library as asked by Larry? In either case moving the files is a recipe for disaster as you've found out. You must either move the files back to their original locations or try to get those photos back into iPhoto as follows:
1 - Find the folder you moved the files into and COPY it to the Desktop.
2 - in iPhoto delete the photos that you're having the problems with as you normally would even though you can't see see them. Also delete all the photos that are in the folder you moved the other files into.
3 - drag the folder on the Desktop into iPhoto to import them as one event. If you get a duplicate warning I'd let it import the duplicate and use Duplicate Annihilator to find them so you can cull out the duplicate you don't want.
Other than that you might have to start over from scratch as follows:
Creating a new library while preserving the Events from the original library.
1 - Move the existing library folder to the desktop
2 - Open the library package like this.
3 - Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
4 - Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.

I just updated iTunes to the latest version and now I can't play more than half of my songs. When I click on a song it comes back and states that it can't find it and prompts me to try and locate it. I don't know where to look. Help!!!!

I synced my ipod to my laptop and now I can't find my music help. I called the support but was told that that help expired. I did not even know I had that offered to me HELP!!!!
You may be able to redownload your iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
BTW, did you sync to the laptop before? Yu can only sync to one iTunes library. If you sync to to another library the iPod will be eerased and it contents replace with what is in the iTunes library on the computer. -
I've bought my 1st Mac, since than I've replaced my old disk to a new one - and at the lab they created my new admin's name as admin.. I've changed it after 'root'ing - and now I can't find my photos either at iPhoto/photo booth, what can I do to restore restore them, they are very importent to me !!!
Please I'll be thankfull.I stated that I did try to do all of this when I first set up the new computer...I did do the Setup Assistant numerous times but my old computer kept freezing half way through. Even if I did it when I first got the new computer back in Septemeber, I would have had the same issue b/c my old computer has been 'broken' for a while. My old computer can't handle doing too much at once and I think the setup and then migration functions I tried were too much. That's why I was hoping I could use the migration function piecemeal. I wish I could just check off the exact files and folders I want vs. having to choose it at the 'user' level...that's too much for my old computer to have to transfer.

To unhide your purchases
Open iTunes on your Mac or PC.
If you're not already signed in, choose Store > Sign in.
Choose Store > View My Account. (You may be asked to enter your password again).
On your Account Information summary, scroll down to the "iTunes in the Cloud" section and click Manage.
Choose a content type by clicking Music, TV shows, Apps, or Books from the top.
Click the Unhide button next to the item you would like to restore.
If they are not hidden they may have been purchased on a different apple id.
