I created the PHONE version pf my sit is a separate Muse file.

I created the PHONE version pf my sit is a separate Muse file. When I publish this to my site, will it erase the desktop site I already have live? Should I somehow merge the two Muse files before publishing?

Hello,
Muse gives you the ability to create a phone layout long with the desktop layout in the same file.
As you have created a separate phone layout file it will overlap the existing desktop layout file.
I would advise you to create a phone layout in the file that already has Desktop layout and then copy paste the content from existing phone layout file to the new one created along with the  desktop layout. This will create  separate folder for Phone pages on the host and also set up the redirection codes so that the pages can be redirected according to devise type.
Please take a look at the link below that explains about Phone layout in Muse.

How do I get the phone version of my site to use the same url as the desktop version -- without the "phone" extension.  when someone posted a link to my site, they posted it from their phone and it included /phone. Now when people click on it - - it goes straight to the phone version of the site.

  • How do I narrow a widget so it fits in the phone version of my site?

Here is a screencap of the problem.  The widget I used to set up this slideshow extends beyond the layout of the site and will not let me drag the right edge to be within the layout.  So when I publish and view the site, the program shrinks the content of this page to fit the empty part extending beyond the layout.  How can I pull the edge of the widget within the layout?

    Hello,
Enable the thumbnails for this slideshow temprarily and check for each Hero image if any of the Hero Image's container is stretched outside the page area.
Also, please check for Next/previous or Captions if it's containers are present outside the page area.

  • I'm having trouble with the phone version of my site shifting to the left on screen

Anyone else encountered this problem? I've tried centering my anchors and having them to the left, but no success.

I see the space gap on right side of page in mobile version , have you tried to check for any empty object outside the page area or any other content stretching outside page area ?
    Thanks,

  • When I create a tablet/desktop/phone version of a site, why are all the pages blank?

Hello, longtime listener/user, first time caller
I've been using Muse since jumping on the Creative Cloud train a couple years ago, but to date all my experience had been in maintaining and updating a desktop version of a couple small sites.  I loved the idea of Muse being able to assist in the creation of separate desktop/tablet/mobile layouts (ie responsive design), and this past week was my first experience in using it as I worked on a ground-up rebuild of http://www.eridusociety.org.  I started with a Phone layout, with the intention of getting that right and then expanding outward to a tablet version, and once that was finished, adding a desktop layout.
After completing the mobile site and testing it on Business Catalyst (thanks to all involved in that seamless integration, by the way), I clicked on the +Tablet button and proceeded to build out the tablet layout of the site.  To my dismay, all the pages it built were blank.  I tried deleting and re-doing it with different combinations of the options checked, to no avail.  Then I raced off to the nearest web browser and started searching - surely I missed a step, or the great collective brain of the internet could alert me to some way to achieve this.  Alas, no such luck.
The blank pages are intentional, and the way to populate those blank pages is to go back to the phone layout, open the page, then copy all the content, then switch back to the tablet layout, open the corresponding page on the tablet layout, and paste in the content from the source layout... and of course, rinse and repeat for the desktop layout as well (though for my workflow, I copied the finished tablet layout pages to create the desktop version).
For me, starting with all the page elements from the source layout is much easier than starting from scratch on each and every page.  That way I know I have all the elements on the page, and I can add to (or subtract from) as well as modify the layout in fairly short order.  I've been driving myself a little crazy with all the bouncing back and forth between layouts to copy/paste elements as I work on my site, and for future reference I'd like to know if there's some way that can be avoided in the future?
Ideally, I would like to see an option in the create layout dialog box to be able to copy content (and choose the source layout to copy from).
Beyond that, another great option for this dialog would be to let me choose to switch all the page links to the new layout.  That is, when it copies and pastes all the page content from source layout, Muse would then also update the links to pages within the site so that they link to that layout's pages.  So when I build a phone version and click +Tablet, I can check a box to copy page content from source, specify that source, and then check another box to update links for layout.  After Muse does its magic, I have a tablet layout that's already got page content on it, and it's linking to other pages on the tablet layout (and not to the source/phone layout pages).
Thanks to everyone on the Muse team for a pretty great product, and to the people manning the Twitter account for responding to my tweet and directing me here.

Sanjit, I think one of us is missing the point.  It could be me - is there some way to easily and quickly pop open multiple layouts and pages?  Because for me (running a 12-core Mac Pro with 64GB RAM and FirePro D700 GPU's), Muse lets me switch between one layout view and the next (not open them simultaneously), and takes several seconds to do this every single time.  Opening and closing pages (to create separate tabs/windows) is also incredibly tedious.
I can appreciate that select and drag works just as well as selecting all and using copy/paste shortcut keys, but that is the least time consuming part of the process.
Without copying the page contents from the source layout and transpose internal page links to new layout, Muse falls short of the mark of making it really easy to build responsive sites.  It's kind of like trying to take a cab to a destination across town that makes you get out and walk halfway.  No matter quickly or easily the cab made it through town, it still only got you half way there.

  • How do I create a mobile version of a site that is based on scroll effects and a slideshow background?

I need to create a mobile version for a site that is based on scroll effects and a slideshow background.
Is it possible to copy the format from the desktop version without re-designing all the elements?

    Hi
Different renditions will use require the page elements to be optimized accordingly.
So you can surely copy the page elements and paste in phone or tablet layout , but you would need  to modify them.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

    Hi,
The customer has agree to push the site live with the desktop and the phone versions which worked perfectly.

Someone has an idea of the problem ?
Thanks (and sorry for my english)...

I have resolved the problem by duplicate the website and delete the phone version then replace the elements on a new telephone version.
I hope that will always works.

Have you an another solution if the problem is back ?

  • Assigning the phone version to a .mobi address?

I have a .mobi address and my current website has a redirect pointing to it. I am alomost ready to publish my phone version. Do I publish it to the the .mobi address? I was told that muse recognized the phone and used the phone site. Will this interfere with my .mobi?
How do I configure this? Do I publish to my website and also publish the phone version to my .mobi?
If there is an article on how to upload all your version, please send me the link.
I don't want to screw anything up when I upload.
    Thanks.
    my addresss is lettersfromyournightlynelson.com

    Hi,
Please make sure that you have assigned the resources to the required model correctly in /SAPAPO/RES01. There is no separate assignment for the planning versions.
When you assign the resource to the inactive model, the resource is automatically created in all planning versions of the inactive model (copy of the planning version-independent resources to the planning version-specific resources of the active model).

  • How to call a phone # in the phone version

    Hi,
In the phone version of MUSE, I have a phone number listed in the footer.  I want to do the following: When the user press the phone #, it will call that phone number.
would like to make my phone # be able to call.
    Any pointers appreciated.

    Hi bowbow88,
If you select you text frame, in the control strip you should see the hyperlinks options. If you click on the hyperlinks drop down, simply enter the telephone number (with no dashes, or anything, just the numbers) and hit enter. Muse will create a telephone link for you, and it should call that number when you click that link.
    Hope that helps,
    Andrew

  • Why does the Phone Version appear as desktop version when it is online

I designed a website in Adobe Muse. I also did a Phone Layout. Now the site is online. On the phone the site opens in the phone Layout but after using the navigation the site changes to the desktop version, which is not readable on the phone.
What can i do to make the Phone version run correctly?

sounds like you need to update your navigation so the buttons are linking to the phone versions of the pages rather than the desktop ones?

  • I am using the app with a nexus 7 tablet, but Its running the phone version of the app instead of the tablet version.

I've downloaded Firefox for android on my nexus tablet, but when I run it it's the phone version browser instead of the tablet browser. how do I fix this?

on tablets (to my knowledge at least in landscape mode) the number of open tabs will be displayed on the top left site, whereas on phones this information is on the top right - so this part should be a good indication of which version you're getting.
screenshots of the different layouts are also available on the google play description for firefox: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mozilla.firefox

  • The mobile version of my site not working when Published.

The desktop version works fine and the mobile version seems to be working fine in Muse in both preview and browser preview.
What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it?
    Thanks,
    /Fredrik

Thanks for your response Zak and my apologies for the delay in responding. I tried the site on a smart phone yesterday and the mobile version came up and it worked perfectly including the email and phone links. I don't have a tablet other than an Acer Iconia B1 and at the moment I'm presuming it'll bring up the correct version on a tablet that has better definition.
At the moment the site is hosted as a temporary test site on Business Catalyst. "Universal Redirect" was already selected at the time of my original query. The previous version of the site which this will supercede (not Muse and done a few years ago) is at present hosted by a different company but I want to change host to Business Catalyst as this seems to make sense and I can take advantage of the hosting credit.

  • Im trying to reorder divs when in the mobile version of my site, is it possible to do it with media queries?

    Im trying to reorder divs when in the mobile version of my site, is it possible to do it with media queries? Here is the layout in desktop view, red being what would be images. And when i rescale, the content stacks together to place two of the same boxes together, like so;
Is it possible to apply a rule so when scaled the boxes reorder to show red, black, red, black, red, black?

I used to use the free version of Adobe Reader to convert my publisher files to pdf files. When I was making a booklet for our hockey team, it said I had to buy it. Now I bought it and it won't convert the files. I am ready to throw this computer out the window!! Can you tell me what is the problem? No it does not exceed 100 M. either.

Adobe Reader never converted Publisher files to PDF, for free, never. I suspect you use to have the (paid for) Adobe Acrobat. Sometimes people have Acrobat (more than $300 worth) and install Adobe Reader over the top, losing that valuable software.
That said, if you subscribed to PDF Pack it should do this conversion. What exactly happens now.
