I currently own adobe cs5, why don't I qualify to upgrade to cc?

I currently own adobe cs5 design standard. I recently switched from PC to MAC as well. Today I tried logging in to my adobe account from both my new MAC and my old PC. And when I signed into my account and the website checked to see if I qualified for an upgrade it said "You don't qualify for this promotional offer. Please visit our plans page to browse our list of other offerings." I am new to all of this so it may be a stupid question. But does anyone have insight into what is happening and why I can't get the discounted upgrade? Thanks!

why I can't get the discounted upgrade?

Currently using Photoshop CS5, but with a replacement computer and upgrade to Yosemite, keep being told I need to install the legacy Java 6. Currently, Photoshop won't even open. I absolutely do not want to subscribe, don't want to mess with the cloud, just want to buy an upgrade to something that will run for a while longer. I don't care about Lightroom, Bridge, Illustrator, etc.; most of those I've deleted over the years. But I do use Photoshop - or would if it would still run. What options do I have?

This is the java you need for photoshop cs5 to work on mac os x 10.10 Yosemite
    https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572?locale=en_US
It's also possible you may have to reinstall photoshop cs5 even after installing the above java, because sometimes the upgrade to mac os x 10.10 messes up the photoshop cs5 installation.
You can download photoshop cs5 from here if you don't already have the install media.

Why don't I qualify for the special offer of £8.odds per month for Photoshop CC despite already having CS 5 on my computer?

Are you talking about the Photoshop Single App subscription?
or the Photoshop Photography Program ( = Photoshop + Lightroom + extras)?

The option to update without the computer (Over the air) was made available with iOS 5. If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

  • Adobe CS5 production premium "doesn't" qualify for new Adobe cc membership discount, WHY?

    Hi All,
I have tried to qualify for the Adobe CC membership discount using my CS5 production premium serial number and the website is telling me that I do not qualify.
However on reading the terms and conditions it stipulates anyone from CS3 and above can get the discount. Not only that the adobe live chat is only for paid memberships so I cant talk to anyone until I pay... frustration.
Can anyone clarify this situation at all?
    Thank you in advance

Hi, thanky ou for your response,
I have the retail version with physical discs. It is not the educational version so I paid full price.
    ... hmmmm

  • Why don't I qualify for the $29.99 per month subscription? I put my serial number in from my CS3 and it says I don't qualify...

I'm sure I read that Adobe was going to give this deal to current CS users...

We can't know. We don't know what CS3 product you are referring to and under which conditions it was purchased back then nor would you care to provide sensitive purchase details on a public forum. Inquire with sales support via web chat if you have specific questions.

  • Owned Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 Editor for 6 weeks - upgrade?

I bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 Editor from the Mac App Store 6 weeks ago. I didn't need the organiser so the cut down version was perfect for me.
However, now Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Editor is out but there is no upgrade option and it seems a bit harsh to expect people who bought recently to buy it all over again for a few new gadgets.
I really expected to see an upgrade to 9 to sort out the bugs I found but I'd guess that's not gonna happen now.
Is the only option "buy the new version" and hope that the bugs have been fixed?
When I Alt click "remember" on the save properties, it'd be nice if it actually remembered and not keep reverting back to GIF.

    Argh56 - I feel your pain.
I, too, just paid $80 for the app store version of Elements 9 very recently.   The update, Elements 10, is FULL price to me.
    That is rediculous.   Rediculous.
Charge me $20 in-app for the upgrade.  Charge me $40, if you must Adobe, but asking me to pay another $80 is absurd.
The Adobe website says that app store download version of Elements will "qualify" for an upgrade price.  What is the upgrade price?  $80 - the same a brand new user would pay!
It is business practices like this that really anger those customers on whom Adobe has built its success. I used Photoshop for years, and Elements for the last few years. I enjoy the product and am familiar with how it works.
However, right now.... where I'm sitting... I am oh so close to clicking on the "buy" button for Aperature and giving my $80 to a company that treats its customers better.
Maybe this is what we all need to do to communicate with Adobe in the language they speak - $$$.  (Similar to the OWS 99%ers are telling the big banks?)
Honestly - this is no way to treat loyal customers.
    Holly G.
P.S. I don't believe those who defend this highway robbery by saying that something about the Apple app store makes Adobe charge this much for the update.  Baloney.  I buy upgrades in-app all the time.

  • Tools in Adobe Elements 12 don't work after Yosemite upgrade

Trying to edit my son's wedding photos - the basic editing tools in Adobe Elements 12 will not work and I have to force quit to get out of app.  Others have reported the problem on Adobe forums but it seems like an Apple issue??  I've only owned this program for a month and it would be horrible for it not to work because of an OS upgrade.  Adobe's response is to upgrade to 13.  I'm not spending another $80 on a program that I just purchased.

So the download completed; did you also install it?

I have receipt, serial number, and registration confirmed on my previous purchase of the CS Master Collection 5.5 from 2012 yet when I put my serial number into the system it's saying that I don't qualify for the introductory $29.99/mo.

  • MacBook Pro and Adobe CS5 graphics card upgrade

I have a few questions that I can't seem to get answers to from Adobe. I have a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.5.8 with a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB DDR2 SDRam, and GeForce 8600M GT graphics card. I currently have Adobe CS3 on it, but would like to upgrade to CS5. I know that I'll need to upgrade to Snow Leopard, but I believe I'll need to upgrade my graphics card also. According to Adobe's site, the compatible cards listed are the Nvidia quadro fx ones. the one they suggest is for a macbook pro, however, and costs about $1500. I'm trying to find out if I can even upgrade the graphics card on my MacBook, and if so is there anything that costs about a tenth of that price. CS5 specs can be found here http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/mastercollection/systemreqs/
My MacBook also has the dual boot (windows and Mac). I have never booted in Windows and have a windows laptop, so I'm wondering if it would be better to get rid of that, so that CS5 would run better when installed. any ideas/suggestions?

"... I know that I'll need to upgrade to Snow Leopard, but I believe I'll need to upgrade my graphics card also."
Why do you have to upgrade to Snow Leopard?
The graphics card is not upgradeable.
I would query the forum for users of CS5 and Leopard with your hardware configuration and see if they have any problems.

  • Adobe CS5 in Thin VDI environment

My company is moving to a thin client VDI environment.  Our shop is a graphic, photo, and video shop currently using Adobe CS5 Master Collection.  We primarily use Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premier Pro.  Will these programs be fully functional in a thin environment, especially Premier Pro?  TIA Lisa

Erm, no. Sorry, given the dependency for hardware acceleration in Premiere Pro, this is just a stupid move. And even PS has hardware acceleration features for 3D, clone stamp overlays, canvas rotation, art brushes... Seriously, you're shooting yourselves in the foot.

  • Currently Own CS3 but want to upgrade to The Creative Cloud...

I currently own Adobe CS3 but want to upgrade to the Photography Creative Cloud (Photoshop and Lightroom). Do I need to uninstall CS3 from my computer before I buy the Creative Cloud?

No, you do not need to uninstall CS3 before installing CC.  You should still be able to use it (not sure if there will be any issues though).
What you might try before buying is installing CC as a 30 day trial.  That will make things clear without having to chance the investment.

  • Adobe cs5

I have adobe cs5 for windows. Now i have upgraded to a Mac , how do i custom my cs5 so it works on my mac. Reason im asking is because i do not want to have to purchase a new version.

You can also call Adobe customer service to discuss a crossgrade. There is a small charge to crossgrade but it is not like buying a new license. You will need to destroy/end your Windows license during this process.
