Hey Apple community its me again with a new problem.
after fixing a ibook G3 Clamshell, i've been longing for the simpler days when OS 9 was the best you could own.
so i'm posting this same question in all discussion that apply.
i'm currently using a eMac usb 2.0 running OSX 10.4.11/OS 9.2.2 and its great but i still love the feel of OS 9 its self.
so now i'm asking you guy for help tracking down the best G3 Mac Desktop in here and in various G3 laptops in their discussions.

A 14-inch model came out at the same time, but I would stick to the 12-incher because it's a bit easier to find parts for the (less rare) 12-inch model.
I would not buy any used Mac which did not include the original system discs that came with it when it was new. Also good to have would be the upgrade disc(s) for any software upgrades which have been installed.

I have version 5.3 which works on 10.4.11.
There are some machines what will run Classic but will not install from the independently sold 9.x cd. You have to install via the restore discs that came with the machine. There may be a workaround if you have Classic with all the updates applied on another machine. You can copy over via target disk mode or swap harddrives.

Buying a new Mac Pro, need help with Screen

Hello everyone, Im getting a Mac Pro, and I need a good lcd monitor to go with it. At the same time I would like to be able to have a LCD screen in my room to watch tv. Is it possible to watch tv with the Apple displays, any other displays or should I buy a LCD TV that has capabilities to be connected to a computer. I read a post that suggested a Dell screen to somebody for the purpose of watching tv.
Please any advice would be appreciated.

There are some non-Apple monitors with video, as well as DVI inputs. Some even contain TV tuners and speakers.
Some TVs can be used as computer monitors but there are potential problems:

I would recommend you to get it when lion osx comes out. Anyway, it is just round the corner And based on eww's statement, Lion osx will be free for you, while others have to upgrade with $29.99.
But if you are in a rush to get a mac, then you can just get it now. Anyway, lion osx is only $29.99, which is an excellent price for the new software

Intel i5 processor upgrade? No way, no how with the OEM PPC board.
The "Latest" hardware that can be used with the original G4 motherboard is imited to used 7445/7447/7448 3rd party processor upgrades (all obsolete), PCI expansion, AGP graphics (only used as all are obsolete), new IDE drives (capacity support dependant on model year) and PC133 memory.
SATA and SSD can be used, but only with PCI SATA controllers or the specially configured IDE modded SSD from OWC.
PCI controllers will get you about SATA 1 data rates. The adapted SSD on IDE won't get beyond 60 MB/s.
You could use the case and put a mini ITX or micro ATX board in to support the i5. Of course you could then run Windows 7. If you want to run OS X, discussion ends here and begins your use of Google and searching for "x86" and "Hackintosh".

You have a 13" Early or Mid 2009 MacBook. Either one can run OS X Mavericks with enough RAM, 2 GB minimum. But first you will need to update to OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 so that you have the Mac App Store installed on your MacBook

My 2006 MacBook Pro and my 2011 MacBook Air both do it. It happens because the earth ground stops at the power brick and is not carried through to the case of the machine. It is not dangerous or the machine would not have been UL approved.
Since I operate on battery 99.9999% of the time it doesn't bother me at all.

Need help on which router to buy for my BB 8320

Now i know 8320 is dated but at this point i am not planning to change anytime soon .
So I have a router which is kinda old, it didnt really occur to me since it worked. When i got my bb 8320 i was in a hotel and i could connect through their wireless without any hassle. I could surf, use youtube, name it.
When i got home i couldnt do anything, i spent countless nights trying to figure out waht was wrong then i realized its my router. If only BB said somethign it wont support old routers then i wouldve saved myself hours of self-loathing.
Anyways I also have gone to my friends house, and i could connect to her linksys router without any hassle. i was the one who set her router up and we bought it this year. i didnt do anything special, configuration-wise or w/e.

Switching over from pc to mac and need help!

Ok so I plan on getting the new imac they are revealing today, but I'm not completely sure how to transfer all my music over from the pc and how the iPhone will sync as I've heard that the mac didn't recognize the iPhone after it had already been synced with a pc. I was just going to buy an external hd for the music and other things, but I really don't want to spend $100 plus for something that is only for transfer and some backup. I was considering burning cd's as well as I only have about a 250 song library and many blank cd's. Which choice or other option would be best? As for the not recognizing problem, is there something I have to do to like "format" it for mac and a feature I need to set up on the mac? Any help is appreciated.

The iPhone will show up on both a Windows-based PC and a Mac without needing to be reformated. From the File Menu in iTunes you can choose to sync your purchased music back to the computer.
In addition the Apple Retail Stores offer a service to move your files over.
You can burn approximately 150-200 songs per CD as a Data CD in iTunes, and import from there if you would like. You can set the CD Burning preference in iTunes in Windows by going to the Edit Menu, Preferences, Advanced Tab, then the burning section. Choose the option for "Data CD"

Graphic Design major needs help choosing a Mac!

I'm a Graphic Design student, and I'm about to purchase my first Macbook Pro. I need to know the minimum specs my Mac needs, without sacrificing performance. I'll be running multiple Applications/Programs simultaneously without stalling or crashing. (ie: Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Internet with lots of tabs, music, and occassionally whatever program they'll use for my animation class.) I have a MyBook external terabyte, so saving large projects won't be an issue. Also, I kind of want to have an internal CD/DVD drive, but if that sacrifices performance way too much, I can get an external.
I've been offered this used MBP that is one year old, for a reduced price, http://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/specs/ (See the specs for the 13" for $1199), but will it be enough? Even if I buy more RAM and install it myself, will the processor be fast enough? Will everything else be enough?

Your link to the Best Buy MBP does not work for me but I looked on the best but website and found the only 17" MBP, model MC725LL/A, which is an early 2011 MBP. It does not say which CPU it has, a 2.2 GHz or 2.3 GHz. Either way the price is the most attractive.
If this is left over and not an open box, it probably represents the best value in that respect. I would establish if it is really new and what CPU it has before committing any funds. I note it has Snow Leopard as the OS which has been supplanted by Lion and Mt. Lion. You might think that this is a negative, but it really is not. You may always install Mt. Lion at a later date ($20) if you feel you have to. I have a late 2011 17" MBP which came with Lion and I have also installed Snow Leopard on it. Snow Leopard is the most efficient OS that Apple has offered and I do not consider obsolete by any means.
Though Apple says that 8 GB RAM is the maximum, all 2011 MBPs will accommodate 16 GB. I have that in my MBP.
There is one point that you should seriously consider. That Is the Glossy vs. the Anti-glare display. It would be best that you go to an Apple store and look at them side by side in order to make an informed decision. I have a MBP with the Glossy display, my first one, which I like but the second one I got has the Anti-glare and that in my opinion is the more practical. The newest one is also Anti-glare. I have heard it said by serious photographers that the colors are more accurate on the Ant-glare displays. It may be worth the price differential, but you have to decide. (That is another item that should be determined with the Best Buy option)

Specific things I want in an Android Tablet include the following: Android 2.3 or newer, touch screen, Micro SD card slot & good battery life are all my must haves!!! Additionally, if possible, I would prefer a White Android Tablet over a Black Android Tablet!!! I am a T-Mobile employee, I work @ their customer service center/inbound call center in Portland, Oregon. My expertise is cell phone activations, new customer activations/sales/upgrades, tech support & billing. I am very unknowledgeable when it comes to the iPad & Android Tablets. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated!!! So far I've narrowed down my tablet selection to the Sony Tablet S, Asus Transformer Prime, iPad 2 & Asus Slider... Suggestions??? Keyboard is not hugely important, however it would be nice, I can type very well on a tablet, so keyboard is not a must... Micro SD card & Android 2.3 or higher is an absolutle must!!! Cameras of at least 5MP would be nice as well. I've done a little research since I posted this & iPad 2 is officially off my list. Asus Slider, Sony Tablet S & Asus Transformer Prime are what I'm looking at as of now. As far as screen goes, I want a larger screen if possible. Flash websites I also want access to. BB Desktop Manager no longer works with Mac Maverick - Need Help Urgently

I have been a loyal Blackberry user since the Government of Canada officially began using these cell phones. I feel, however, abandoned by Blackberry (they obviously don't believe that it is easier to retain an existing customer than acquire a new one). I'm using a Blackberry Bold (9900) with a Macbook Pro. Everything was fine until I upgraded my Mac operating system to Maverick; my Blackberry Desktop Manager no longer works, so I cannot sync the content (contacts, calendar) of my phone with my Mac, but that's not the worst of it.
I recently had a momentary lapse and exceeded the 10 password attempts to access my phone... this accidentally wiped my phone clean... and because Desktop Manager does not work with Mac, I do not have a way to recover my data. Rogers was of no help and had Blackberry updated its desktop software months ago, as it should have, this issue would have been moot. I do not know how or why, but I was able to recover most of my data, but I'm not sure just how up-to-date tha data is and am still going through it, but I'm having issues with some functionality.
I'm in the US for several months and have suspended my Canadian services. Prior to the wipe, I was able to use wifi on my phone to send and receive emails with no problem. After the wipe, I can't send emails or bbms. I checked my blackberry internet service and all email accounts are good to go. BBMs are another issue. I need help. Suggestions please.

Apple has ceased synchronization with Mavericks. The issue lies with Apple, not with the desktop software. To mitigate the lack of sync capabilities in Mavericks you can sync your contacts and calender on your Mac with the usual suspects (Yahoo, Google). Create a backup (archive) for Contacts and Calender on your Mac first, then create one of those email accouonts that allow syncing. On your 9900 and with BlackBerry provisioning enabled create the new or existing email account. See which email accounts can sync with BB, I know Yahoo is working fine. For Yahoo, get the Yahoo Calender sync (a few bucks one-off payment required), Contacts sync works off the shelf within BB. If you reset the 9900 you should be able to restore all data with BB DTM. Please note that emails you received during the 9900 reset and the date of restore will not be available on the device. You will still not be able to sync contacts/calender over BB DTM.
