I'd like to make a photo out of one of my videos. How can I do this?

My video is in Imovie and I just want to freeze a clip and print it as a photo. Should be easy, right?

The Drive you are copying TO should be a Mac OS Extended (journaled) format drive.
If you have formatted to a different format, or never changed the factory format, it is likely formatted to an old Windows format that has severe restrictions on file sizes and number of files.

Did you import an iPhoto Library from the old Hard Drive? Do you still have that old Library?
The way to clear out a Library is to Export the photos - Apps like iPhoto2Disk or PhotoShare will help you export to a Folder tree matching your Events.
For the annoying start-up message:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a Folder called 'Import' or 'Importing'.
Drag it to the Desktop. *Make no other changes*.
Start iPhoto. Does that help?
If it does then look inside that folder on your desktop. Does it contain anything you want? If not you can trash the folder.

Try updating to iPhoto 9.4.1. If it's not appearing in your Software Update yet, try updating using a .dmg installer downloaded from the following page on the Apple website:

Add the corrected ones to your PS - PS contains only what was added to it - changes made are not applied to the PS - you have to re add the updated photos

yeah, in itunes if you select your phone, you should get tabs across the top for what to sync, under photos uncheck the box

Have you looked on all the pages of your iPod? Have you looked in all your folders? Have you you tried finding the apps using the iPod's search page.

Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. My new iMac with Yosemite displays photo icons with a white border. How can I remove this border?

How can I remove the white border/'frame' around the photo icons, which I store in folders other than iPhoto?
My computer is an iMac 27" (Late 2014 5K Retina display) with Yosemite 10.10.3.
The border does not exist on any photos /images created on my MacbookPro (Lion) or any earlier computers. It appears after importing to the iMac and only then after saving in either Preview or Photoshop Elements.
I have looked in all "Preferences" but could not find how to remove the border.
Any advice will be gratefully received.

Thank you for the reply. I wanted to wait awhile in order to ensure that this corrected the issue. For a brief while, it did! However, it did not take long before the screen began once again hijacking my home button presses. This occurs even with Firefox removed from default applications ( triple-checked ).
This never happened before version 35.
