is, in my opinion, an extreme example of how users misuse the forum to garner points and advance their status.
The question(s) by user captfred are so obviously, deliberately "created" in order to award points to another (?) user, it makes me sick.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we have looked into the matter.
The user you are referring to has reached level 3 so it is doubtful that the user was created specifically to award points. It does appear that they created the topic specifically to get someone else the last points they needed to reach level 4.
If there was a history of the users gaming the system it would be a problem, however on investigation it appears harmless enough. One user wanted to get another user they respected to Level 4, something that would have happened regardless. We see it more as someone recognizing the efforts of another user and thanking them by giving them those last few points.
It's not something we encourage, and if there is a pattern we would need to take action however in this case it seems harmless enough.

If you need one more column, then you need to expand the field catalog table and data table as you did for all other fields and you need to code the logic to calculate the subtotals and populate the new column, but if you want to have row, that will be easy. JRC Export to Text like Crystal Report Designer Export

We need to Export report to Text like Crystal Report Designer Export using JRC. Is this possible? I see export ReportExportFormat CSV, PDF and RTF only. These exports are working, But I need plain text that looks like Text export of Crystal Reports Designer. I see this working in RAS 2008. What I can do to get this with JRC. I am using Crystal Reports 2008 to design reports.

Is it possible to change the position of beining of text in a standard report

I am wondering wether it is possible to change the position of the test (the starting point) in a standard report. I would like to print a label with different texts at different positions. If its not possible in a standard report is there any other way to do it.

Hi Mudda, I don't see any way myself to set any particular starting position for your text. It looks like the best way to emulate this behavior would be to add a new line with lots of tab characters or spaces to place your new text at a specific offset from the left. You can also use Append Table to Report and wire in a 2D string array with only a few positions filled in with your various text labels as shown below. This will space text labels pretty well across the page. Try it out and see if it works for you. You could be more clever and build the 2D array programmatically if you wanted more control over position.

How to design Customized ALV report like normal report !

Hello Friends,
              I like to design a ALV report, with sub headers, sub totals, summary total and other summary details like percentage sale, which is not relavent to the fields displayed in the ALV.
I know it is possible to get total of the displayed field, but is it possible to design flexible ALV report like normal report.
Could U please provide example code, if available.

I have created the power view reports in SharePoint 2010 and now I want to create an email subscription for Powerview reports like SSRS reports in SharePoint 2010. Is it possible? If not, is there any workaround?

Unfortunately, you can't setup subscriptions in PowerView like you can on SSRS. I would suggest you to open up a connect item here and request for this feature - http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer

Is it possible to take the CDR data from a v4.2 Call Manager and copy it to a separate server where it would be made available for reporting? We are not interested in migrating the CDR data to v6 because of the concerns it introduces to the upgrade process. Is it possible to get the raw data and somehow serve it from a different machine? (knowing it would be 'old' data that stops as of a certain date). If so, what would be the complexity involved in doing so?
It seems like the CDR data lives within MSSQL and the reporting interface is within the web server portion of the Call Manager... that's as far as we've dug so far.

It is absolutely possible to get the data - anyone you have in your org with basic SQL skills can move the data off to a standalone SQL server. This could be done most simply by backing up and restoring the DB using SQL Enterprise Manager.
Moving the CAR/ART reporting tool would be more difficult... if you do actually use that for reporting (most people find it doesn't do what they need and don't use it for anything but basic troubleshooting, and get a third party package) then the best option may be to keep your publisher (possibly assigning it a new IP) and leave it running for as long as you need reporting.
You would then need a new server to run your upgraded V6 CCM; you may find you need this anyway.

Does report generation possible frm 2 diff projects within single database

we have two seperate projects created in our eme DB. also we have few results present in first project say P1 and Few results are present in Project 2 say P2

yes only if it is stored in the same database. If both projects results are stored in the same databse, you may view the crystal report graphs that is provided in addition to the built-in reports that is viewable using the report tab. To open the crystal report viewer, go to tools and select Crystal Report Viewer. So, once you have selected the report whose data you would like to see from both project, then click on Add Filters.
In the Add Filters popup, move all the projects you want from available to selected. Once you are completed adding filters, then click OK on the view report popup to render an html report with data from both the projects. Please let me know if this answer was helpful.

Don't daisy-chain the camera with Hard Drives
The camera only uses a data rate of 200Mbps and the differences in Hard Drive data speeds can be an issue.
The External iSIght should work no matter what Firmware is on there currently.
There is some evidence that having the 1.0.3 version (Open the System Profiler > Hardware > Firewire) on the device makes it more compatible/useable in later OS versions
The Updater is included in Tiger and Leopard.

How to show more than one record at a form-like style report?

I developed a form-like style report
I want it to show more than one record at once (At the same page)
I tried that by setting the value to "Maximum records per page" property for the repeating frame to 10
but when I close the property palete and open it agian the value is returned to 1 !!!

there's perhaps another property like "page protect". If than 2 records didn't fit at one page there's a page break. Or is there any object inside the repeating frame with page-break properties? Sorry .. it's like looking into a chrystal ball ...

Grouping in rtf template like oracle reports - a newbie question

I am new to BI Publisher and have probablly a silly question to ask.
I have a basic query that returns a flat xml file which looks something like this. it will have multiple rows.

Because i am fairly new to xml i am at a loss trying to work out how i can form a template that will effectively allow grouping at say
1. Date Level
2. Package Level
3.Drop Off level
4. put all other data in here
In reports i would just do groups and alter the layout accordingly. Obviously if i had an oracle report version of the sql that generates the xml then i could just generate the xml from the report and i would get the xml i am looking for .
But I am working with basic sql not reports and am wondering What do I have to do with my xml to get it looking live the grouping I mention above, given all i have to play with is the example xml I included. I am really bamboozled and think i am missing something simple.
I dont want to have to write multiple queries with different groupings using cast , multiset as I thought one of the benefits of BI Publisher was one query multiple layouts.

If you haev word plugin installed,
please follow the documentation and try using that,
load the xml in the word plugin
and then select insert table/form and then you can do the drag and drop,
and group by each fields.

Hi, is it possible to add a complex filter to a DESKI report using the JAVA report engine sdk?
In the developer tutorials for this API, I've only found references to WEBI in terms of modifying reports, though it seems to be possible to view DESKI reports with this sdk.
I am a bit confused in terms of the scope of this API and how I would use it in regard to DESKI.

Current (XI R2) version of ReportEngine API only supports refreshing/viewing functionality for Desktop Intelligence documents. Document modification/creation is only supported with Web Intelligence documents.
