I'd like your feedback please.

I really like how the new 'Artist' tab  in the "Music" library is organized by artist then album and finally track number.  The only changes I'd make here are to:
Get rid of the "All artists" item at the top of the list.
Show ONLY songs in this tab.
Rename the "Artist" tab to "Songs", and get rid of the "Songs" list tab.
The 'Videos' tab should be view in the same way as the 'Artist' tab, except the music videos should be simply listed by it's year of release by the artist....no "Unknown" album listings.
Even tho I've set my view in the "Movies" to sort by title then year, it's not doing it.  For example my Jeff Dunham movies are listed out order.  It should be:
Arguing With Myself
Spark Of Insanity
Very Special Christmas
Controlled Chaos
..but they're currently listed in the following order:

[2nd try]
Actually, I know I can uncheck all checkboxes at once by pointing to a checkbox , and press [CTRL] while clicking, but my point is thate there needs to be an option to turn them off by default so that every item I download or import isn't auto-checked.
As for the Music library, here's what I'm talkin' about:
Song view:
Video view:
Only these would go under the Songs & Videos respectively, not playlists I create.
Also, I still think the Albums, Artists, and Genres tabs are unnecessary, but there could be an option to aljlow users to choose whether or not to hide them.
As for the Movies library, I realize I can manually sort them as per your suggestion, but my point is that the iTunes programmers shouldn't have greyed out the "then" dropdown menu when 'Title' is chosen in the "Sort by" dropdown menu in "'View Options'" box. I tried to upload an image of the View Options box, but for some reason, it wouldn't upload.  Anyway, the point is there should be an option to sort by Title, then Year.  Also, the tab bar here is unnecessary IMO.
The TV Shows library is fine  the way it is, except of course, an unnecessay tab bar.  It would also be nice to have an option to hide the titles (like in the Movies library) since the title in is the thumbnail art.
I don't have an opinoin about the other libraries as I don't use them.
I'm using iTunes for Windows version 11.2.2.3.

  • Your Feedback please on GUI design/development

    Hi everyone,
I am doing some research on GUI development in java and I would
like your feedback on a few things:
    (1) Do you consider GUI development in java complex and
time consuming(more than what it should be)?
    (2) How satisfied are you with existing tools(IDEs like
Visual Cafe,JBuilder or any other ones) for developing
    GUIs?
    (3) If the answer to question 2 is no, do you think a tool
that would offer a level of abstraction between the
design process and the actual swing API thus providing
the ability to design GUIs in a fast and easy way, would
be a useful addition to java? (Consider Visual Basic as
an example for fast & simple GUI development)
Thanks a lot for your time,
    SC

I've been handrolling GUIs for over 10 years (first in X/Athena/Motif)
    and now Java.
I have never found a builder that lets you get exactly what you want
plus I've always found the source they generate to be rubbish (ie
you can't modifiy it to do exactly what you want)
If there was a tool that did give me complete access to do everything
I wanted plus produced usable/reusable source code - would I use it ?
I'd probably try it and see if it was faster than doing it by hand, if
yes then I would certainly use it.
I don't honestly think a builder will ever be a complete replacement
    for a GUI developer though.
Last (silly) point: Is there an Athena L&F for Java ? - not that I want
one, purely interested to know if there is one !

  • Career in ABAP - Your feedback please

    Hello All:
I have been doing VB, javascript, XML ASP and some WEb stuff from the past 6 years and now I got opportunity to work in SAP ABAP programming. I heard SAP market is always good and I already started learning ABAP and just wondering if I am taking a right decision for my career! I know my decision is going to be final but I appreciate if you can give some of your opinions! Thanks in advance.

    hi Mithun,
You're wise to "look before you leap" into ABAP right now. As I noted in a previous question, the classic role of the ABAP programmer is changing. The future SAP developer will be a hybrid of ABAP, EAI, and Web/Java-based expertise.
It's not bad to get yourself a foundation in ABAP programming, but I think you're right to ask some hard questions about how marketable ABAP skills will be down the line. The market is definitely going to get crowded for the general ABAP programmer. And you're right - automated tools like Report Painter are making it harder for the average ABAP programmer to find good projects. BW is becoming the standard reporting environment for SAP customers, and tools that automate presentation and reporting are getting more robust with each BW release. Even though there will always be the need for custom ABAP programming, object-oriented development tools like BADIs will definitely reduce the need for "grind it out" ABAP coding. For all those reasons, if I were moving into SAP development, I would pursue two different angles. First, I would try to obtain hardcore ABAP development skills (custom development, user exits, dialog programming - heavy hardcore development. Not so much using neat tools but doing the hardcore custom work that conversion and reporting tools just can't do).
Second, I would try to get development experience utilizing mySAP, EAI, and R/3 product extensions. This means mastering SAP's integration toolkit, including BAPIs, BADIs, the SAP Java Connector, and the Web Application Server (formerly the Internet Transaction Server). But I would take it further and get exposure to emerging web platforms, languages, and integration protocols including Java, J2EE, and the many flavors of XML. Exposure to competing web-based development platforms such as Microsoft's .NET solution would also give you an edge. And since you can't expect SAP's customers to rely only on SAP's EAI solutions, acquiring skills with third party EAI tools from vendors like webMethods, Tibco, and Vitria would be another key part of your skill set. In addition to all that, you want to build in as much business process and application integration know-how into your skills as you can. These "big picture" skills help to protect you against both offshore outsourcing and the competition amongst "core ABAP" programmers. Put all of these skills together, and you're truly "the ABAP programmer of the future." But at the same time, your skills will be transferable to other non-SAP environments, giving you real flexibility in the marketplace. So, the bottom line for you: yes, go into ABAP if you see a good opportunity, but continue to keep your eyes open and do your best to enhance your core ABAP know-how with all the Web-based development skills you can get your hands on.
Please Reward Points to the helpful answers and closed the thread....

  • 7.0 and your feedback on the new chat UI

Totaly agree that it would also be nice to be able to hide the useless "Home" and "Call phones" buttons on the contact list.It can be a part of a "compact list" mode or as a separate option. I never use them.

    Hi Skype Community,
Since releasing the new chat experience on desktops to users on Windows and Mac we've looked closely into the feedback you've shared with us. Since September we've released multiple updates to Skype for Windows and Skype for Mac to incorporate smaller changes based on your feedback.
Today we are making Skype 7.0 for Windows desktop available for download from Skype.com.
    New in 7.0.0.100:
Compact sidebar: Some of you asked us to see more contacts and conversation in the left hand sidebar. Enable the option "Compact Sidebar View" from the "View" menu for a more compact layout.
Compact Chat View: If you can live without your chat message having some whitespace around them to give them room to breathe you can now increase your "message per inch" ratio drastically by activating "Compact Chat view" in Skype Options - "IM & SMS" - Advanced settings. Also don't miss out on the other available tweaks to the UI we wrote about earlier.
Toggle for large emoticons: Some users prefer not to show emoticons sent in an individual messages in a larger size. You can find an option to toggle this in the Skype Options - "IM & SMS" - "IM appearance"
Toggle for unread messages: You can now quickly switch between your conversations that contain unread messages and all by using the dropdown on top right of your "Recent" list. See the screenshot on the right
Touch scrolling: If you are sporting a device with a touch screen like a tablet you can now use vertical finger swipes to scroll in conversations. Better have a screen wipe at hand all the time though
Disabling chat formatting: Especially role players using Skype have shared that they'd prefer the new text formatting options introduced in 6.22 to not apply to their IMs. This formatting is based on the use of wrapping parts of the message in characters like *, _ or ~. You can disable this permanently for all of your chats, by sending the following chat command to any of your chats:
    /setupkey *Lib/Conversation/EnableWiki 0
To enable the formatting again please use this command:
    /setupkey *Lib/Conversation/EnableWiki 1
This setting doesn't seem to stick reliably in 7.0 over restarts of the app. Skype is looking into this.
Please give the new 7.0 version a spin and customize Skype layout and design closer to your liking. We are looking forward for your feedback.

  • Give us your feedback on v1.2 of the ILM Assistant

Please give us your feedback on v1.2
What would you like us to do next?
    Lilian

    Lillian,
I had sent you information back on 02/29/2008 as a reply to this thread but it must have got deleted.
Here is the thread from that day.
I finally got this to work in my 11g database with Database Vault.
I got to the ILM login page when I exchanged p=4550:10:2805095104274743
    for p=737677:10:2805095104274743.
    i.e.
    http://oraprod-dr.lodgian.com:8080/apex/f?p=737677:10:2805095104274743
The documentation for logging into ILM 1.2 seems to be not quite accurate.
What I saw on that page were 2 boxes:
    1. Database User
    2. Password
So you actually need to login with a "database" user account.
Initially I logged in as "SYS" just to see what would happen.
Then I was able to see the ILM tabs and menus.
I then went into OEM and created a new database user "ILM_DB_ADMIN".
I followed the instructions for executing the grant_privs.sql script to that newly created database account.
I was then able to login with that database account.
Now the url http://oraprod-dr.lodgian.com:8080/apex/f?p=737677 immediately refers to the ILM login page.
I would not think that this is a "backdoor" login method into ILM since the documentation does mention that you must use a "database" account.

    Bruce Hawkins

  • My Bill: Feedback please

    Hi all,
We want to make the billing and payment process as easy as possible for you. So we're improving our billing platforms to make it as easy as possible to access your bill and manage your account.
To help us make our billing service as useful as possible, we'd like to gather as much feedback as possible from you guys about our current billing platform. What works for you? What needs changing? Have you needed to call us because you needed something that wasn't available on MyEE or on your bill?
Please let us know and please be as detailed as possible. We take your feedback extremely seriously.
    Thanks,

The key is that it should work. If it does not there should be a contingency system in place that you can switch too if your having problems. Online billing needs to always be available short of thermonuclear war. APPS: Your app should have ALL of the functionality of the website. it's not only 2014 but as the forefront of mobile technology in the UK its important to be a market leader in apps Utilising apps is crucial. Bills should be notified via a push notification and this notification should contain a link to pay if there is no direct debit on the account. The app should have a way to contact customer service personel in the same way you can twitter and facebook. Moving the conversations away from call centres (which we all hate) can only benefit us both. I would like to see a slide bar which increases or decreases the level of information about your account that the app provides via push - some people want more information than others and giving customer's control of that puts the onus on us to provide the info we need. One of the key complaints people make on these boards is data usage - they dont think its real, its not tracked and EE has no information to prove or disprove this. To rectify this I would have an opt in only tracker built in to the app that records internet usage by site and diplays it so the customer has visibility over it. In order to cover the costs that this would generate make the opt in service have a condition allowing the sale of your data usage information. Online account The key thing I would say is entering your online account should immidiately bring up your last bill on one side and your unbilled charges on the other. All information on bills and charges should be contextualised - a third party charge / 08 number etc would be automatically referenced to the database so that simply hovering over the charge would give you information about it including what it is, which company or contact the charge relates to and the date and time the charge was made. Direct debit charges would have an explanation of what the charge is and how to avoid it in the same way. The point would be to create a multilayed level of information that gets has the ability to cater for everyone without driving contacts in to customer services. Not everyone has the latest PC and browser. Have the ability to make your website and billing section simplified as its quite resource heavy currently Display a usage section which shows historic data usage month by month Have a section which allows you to read the notes added to your account. This will give confidence in what advisors are saying - a key complaint. It will also promote advisors doing the right thing making them more accountable.

  • New beta features (July) - feedback please

Since we launched the site redesign back in June, we've heard a lot of feedback from active Kuler members.  And, we took your feedback to heart. Today, we're happy to be able to share several changes we've been working.  Some of these changes are no-brainers and we're making them available to everyone.  Others need a bit more refinement--so, we're looking for input from you.  In this post, I'll explain what's changed and how you view/use the new features.  Please reply to this post to share your feedback.
Features enabled for this group: (click this link to view the features: https://kuler.adobe.com/features/enable/newFeatures)
We have created a special link to give you access to new features (new feature link)--without this link you won't be able to see the new features.  This link will allow you to use the site, same as before, but will also enable the new features that we're looking for feedback on.  So, here's an overview of what's new:
    (1) Create themes from an image: You can create themes from an image stored on your device.  Here's how: from the the Create page (color wheel), you should see a camera icon above and to the right of the color wheel. Click the icon and you will be asked to select an image from the file picker.  Select your image and start picking colors.
    (2) Resizing the color wheel: You can resize the color wheel to make it small or keep it large.  And, the site will remember your preference. Here's how: hover over the color wheel on the create page and your cursor will change to a magnifying glass with either a "+" or a "-" symbol.  If you click the wheel you can make it smaller or larger.  Large is good for selecting the right hue and small for viewing color interactions on your theme.
    (3) Smaller borders (and the ability to remove the white "active" border):  We've reduced the size of the borders so they don't get in the way.  We've also made it possible to remove the "active" color selection when editing on the color wheel.  Here's how: while viewing the color wheel, click on the dark grey portion of the page above, below or to each side of the color wheel.  You can now see your theme without any "active" border.
    (4) Easier to find color space data (e.g. RGB, CMYK, etc.): several people had some trouble finding all the color spaces (e.g. RGB, CMYK, LAB, HSB).  So, we added a hover effect that will automatically expand the color space data when you mouse over it.  If you prefer to work in a specific space and don't want it to keep expanding, you can stop the expanding feature by clicking  on the white triangle.  That will contract the menu and will make the last space you edited the default.
Features available to everyone: (no special link required to view)
    (5) Save changes dialogue: many of you mentioned the new site would not give you a choice to save a new theme or overwrite an existing theme after editing.  That's now fixed.
    (6) Tab order: a few people mentioned tabbing through color spaces was tedious.  You asked us to allow you to tab through each color in a single space (e.g. RGB) before moving on to a different color space (e.g. CMYK).  We've made this change.
    (7) Instant saving: Saving a theme was taking a couple seconds--which was too long. We've updated the save feature to be much quicker.
That's it for now.  We're working on a bunch of other features and we plan to share those on the forum in the coming weeks.  We look forward to reading your feedback!

Just had a quick look, so my (first) comments are just about the new/fixed features. I only took a look at my laptop with small screen, so I would have to check on a bigscreen computer, tablet and iphone to give complete advice. And checkout more of course.
So, for now on small screen laptop:
    (1) Create themes from an image:
    (a) Choosing picture: You can only pick a picture on your disk. Why not from the web? That's a missing.
    (b) Working: After picking it seems to work allright, but I haven't used it until now.
    (c) Activate camera icon: It takes a while (3 sec) before responding. That's too long, looks like it isn't responding.
    (2) Resizing the color wheel:
    (a) covering colors: Hurray! Very nice to get rid of the wheel in front of my colors.
    (b) magnifying glass: recognizable and it works. Good option.
    (c) changing magnifying glass in a colorpicking +symbol:  To my surprise that works good. When hovering over the colorpickers it and I used it without thinking.
    (d) remembering settings: Nice! But will it remember my settings on a different computer? I have to try.
    (3) Smaller borders (and the ability to remove the white "active" border):
    (a) Smaller borders: Nice, just small enough to notice and not disturb too much
    (b) remove the white "active" border):  Smooth!
    (4) Easier to find color space data (e.g. RGB, CMYK, etc.):
    (a) Expanding: Not very fond of the constant expanding. I would prefer to choose a preference when working on a theme.
    (b) change default color space: That's a good option, but still it expands to all spaces when hovering over it.
    (5) Save changes dialogue:
    (a) dialogue: works fine
    (b) naming the theme: the name is still default, you have to give a name afterwards, by editing. Why not ask for a name when you save the first time or save a copy?
    (6) Tab order: works fine, tab and shift-tab
    (7) Instant saving: Saves quickly

  • New beta features (August) - feedback please

We've added a few more beta features for you to check out.
    (1) Re-order swatches: You can re-order the colors in your swatch simply by clicking and, while continuing to press down, drag the color to the desired location.  Give it a try and let us know what you think.
(2)"Slider" editing controls: Previously we had one slider that controlled the brightness level of your color — we've added a slider control for each value in the color space you are editing.  For example, if you are working in the RGB color space, you will see a slider control for "R", "G", and "B".  For RGB, you will see a 4th control, set apart from the others, that allows you to control brightness.  Each control provides a visual spectrum which will allow you to visually edit your colors with more precision.
Note, we are still working out a few performance issues for these features on the Android default browser and Windows surface.  Ideally, you will have access to another browser to test these features on.
In addition to the beta features mentioned above, we've also rolled out several features which were previously in beta.  Those features include creating themes from an image, resizable color wheel, and less distracting borders.
That's it for now.  We look forward to reading your feedback!

    Looking better and better!
I am testing in Google Chrome in Windows
    1) Reorder Swatches - this works as described. Click, drag and drop. It will be good to have this feature back. On the down side, sometimes changing the base color causes the swatches to reorder... and sometimes the button to set the base color does not respond at all while the swatches shuffle. It hasn't been consistent enough to track down a cause.
    2) Slider editing controls - good to see these back, too! These greatly speed coarse adjustments to colors, while using the cursor keys in the number fields allows for finer deatail control of the number. Seems to work as intended with my brief testing. A possible option would be to have a toggle to switch between the Full sliders and the brightness slider for those that preferred the other way or that simply wish to simplify/minimise the appearance (I like the full slider control, but at times could see the simpler view beneficial as an OPTION).
Thanks for the opportunity to preview these features!
    -mt
    Edit:
Another thing that seems to work better now is the list of color spaces. It no longer jumps open on hovering over it. I like that it retains the view setting (open to full list or 'minimized' to HEX + 1) regardless of the pointer hovering over it.
Feature request: On the sliders, perhaps you can add/enable a set of sliders for the hex values?. Perhaps add an option to minimize the color space list to only hex values?. This could be beneficial for those that work in hex color values only. And, since this is all hypotheical for now, perhaps a toggle to enable or disable a limit to web-safe colors when tweaking hex values via sliders?

  • Feedback, please. How are these overviews and links to resources working for you?

I've been working lately on providing concise introductory sections in After Effects Help that each give an overview of a topic, provide some related tips, and then give a bunch of useful links to more detailed information.
I'd like to get some feedback on how these sections are working.
    http://blogs.adobe.com/toddkopriva/2009/09/feedback-please-how-are-these.html
If, as I hope, these overviews and collections of tips and resources are helpful, then I'll do more of this kind of thing.

    Hi Todd,
Thank you for all that you have contributed to this board, and beyond. I have looked at, and used some of your resources, and found them to be very helpful. In my particular case, I learn much better through video tutorials, especially ones that include the project file and elements that are used in the tutorial. I'm glad to see you include links to other peoples work, but with your wealth of knowledge and talent, I would like to see you make your own series of video tutorials. I think you could do as good or better than anyone out there at this point. I hope you will at least give it some consideration. Thanks again for all that you do, keep up the good work.

  • Product Availability- Be clear in your ads please!

In yesterdays newspaper circular  (8/2/15) you had several blu ray movies for $4.99.  I wanted this one-http://www.bestbuy.com/site/the-blues-brothers-blu-ray-disc-steel-book-limited-edition-ultraviolet-digital-copy/9090567.p?id=43012&skuId=9090567 Nowhere in your printed ad did you mention "in-store only" or limited quantities.  However when I got to the store 1 1/2 hours after opening that was exactly the case.  Couldn't order online, and the nearest store with one (and only one) in stock was 25 miles away (one way).  It would have cost more in gas than the movie cost!  Evidently Best Buy does not issue rainchecks either. I question whether it was ever available at the store I went to.  I have no problem with restrictions, please just don't waste my time by not telling the consumer upfront!

    Hello ktwray –
Finding a movie like The Blues Brothers for $4.99 is a steal, especially considering it is the steel book limited edition! I apologize for any availability issues you have encountered. I too would be upset if it seemed near impossible to get ahold of such a great deal after it was advertised.
Upon researching the availability of this product, it is currently available at the majority of our stores. I can understand how it not being available online, or at your local Best Buy would become a cause for concern. I would appreciate the opportunity to look into this.
I will be sending you a private message to request more details about the situation so that I can find a solution for you. You can view your messages by logging in and clicking on the envelope icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page. I appreciate you taking the time to address your concerns with us here on the Best Buy Forums and please note that your feedback has been documented.
    Thank you,
