I deactivated photoshop CS4 (one of many times) to reinstall on windows 8.1. It errors with a message that it could not install and advised I contact support. I also tried to install on my laptop with the same results.
use compatibility mode to install.

Because of a problem, I uninstalled Firefox once, reinstalled it and it ran. I had a problem so I uninstalled/reinstalled it again. Now it will not run. If you were actually talking about CS5.5 and an upgrade to CS6, you only need the serial numbers from both products. Adobe's installer will look for CS5.5 on your system and when it doesn't find it, you will be prompted to enter that qualifying product's serial number.

Update to iTunes will NOT install and all subsequent attempts to reinstall fail.
I was informed of an update to iTunes tonight so I tried to install it. It would not install. "The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. I've tried reinstalling iTunes 3 times. After each time I've cleared cache and temporary internet files and re-booted. I've used Firefox, IE 10 and Google Chrome. Nothing works.
I need this fixed. It was working great until Apple decided to put out an update that screwed everything up.Go it done. The key appears to have been UTTERLY removing EVERYTHING - even going so far as to delete every iTune folder under Users/Local, LocalLow, and Roaming, and Programs Files, and clearing out all Temp files.

No, iLIfe is a suite of applications: iMovie, iPhoto and GarageBand (earlier versions of the suite also contained iDVD ad iWeb).

I tried deleting or removing Thunderbird several times and I still can't get it to install so I can try to swap out the default profile with the one I want to install.

That is the profile and the pointer to the profile deleted.
Now if you have access to your old computer go to %appdata% on it and copy the Thunderbird folder and it's sub folders including your profile. It will copy the profile and the pointer file to the profile. No more fiddling should be required when you copy into the new new computer.. -
I had to reinstall Acrobat Standard 8.0. It will not update and I cannot manually update it.

To manually update AA8, you can go to http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows. Start your downloads with the most recent update and note what version is needed for that update. Then download back to the version you have. This process allows you to figure out which updates can be skipped. Then install the updates in order. You only need to reboot after the last update. If this is the process you tried, the other need is generally to log in as the administrator and disable anti-virus.

OK. Have you got any other Adobe products like Photoshop or Dreamweaver? IF the answer is NO then I suggest try to use this Adobe cleaner:

This utility works very well in PSE so it is a good idea to clear the registry entries using the official tool from Adobe.
If you have other products then PLEASE DON'T USE THIS TOOL BECAUSE THE TOOL CLEARS EVERYTHING FROM THE SYSTEM PERTAINING TO ADOBE. (sorry about capital letters but it is essential you read it carefully)

Tried to reinstall my CS6 master collection onto my iMac. It will not install - In Design, Fireworks, Premiere Pro, Encore, After Effects, Flash Professional, Photoshop, Illustrator & Prelude. Could you give me some advice. I noticed problems when I was doing some 3D work and the computer kept crashing and thought I would just reinstall my software.
uninstall (using the uninstallers), clean Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 and then reinstall.
