KarenI had exported an address book backup: abbu
so since i wrote, i have found my way into the cloud: selected all entries - deleted them all from the cloud.
This wiped out contacts on my iphone and i pad, and MBP, as well as on the cloud. I then imported the abbu back into my now empty address book.
To repopulate the crowd, i selected all in my address book and created a single card vCard for export to my desktop. I then dragged that vcard into my empty cloud. Now my cloud has the same clean contacts as my MBP addressbook. The cloud then pushed the clean contacts into my empty ipad and iphone contacts.
I had to go back to Address Book>preferences>Accounts and Add an I cloud account - but if you accidentally create a second i cloud account - all of a sudden your address book will duplicate itself. I quickly reversed it by deleting one of the icloud accounts in my Address Book>preferences>Accounts.
I created a new entry on my MBP and it is now on all devices and in cloud
I also created a new entry on my iPhone and it is now in the address book on my MBP.
I feel empowered!!

How can I transfer text and call history from an iPhone 5 to an iPhone 6 Plus?
I just received the iPhone 6 Plus today. In moving information to it from my iPhone 5, I discovered that my text history, call history, and voicemail history haven't been transferred. I had synced the iPhone 5 to iTunes and then synced the iPhone 6 Plus to iTunes. But, since the operating system on the 6 Plus was newer than the 5, iTunes made me treat the 6 Plus as a new phone instead of just backing up the old phone. How can I transfer the call, text, and voicemail history?
Make a backup of the old device and restore the new device to that backup. You will get an exact duplicate of the old phone.

I am trying to completely turn off imessage. Although I do turn it off in settings, under messages, and when I attempt to send a message it is asking me to input my apple id and will then proceed to turn imessage back on. Too many of my clients do not have apple products. Someone help!

That is because the iPad can only text using iMessage. -
I have typed in email addresses into Contacts, but when I try to do an email, most of them have an exclamation mark and won't let me send! Where am I going wrong ? It is really sapping my confidence!
Did you set up your email account info in Settings?
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > Accounts > your account should be listed in there with the appropriate incoming and outgoing mail servers and correct user names and passwords. -

I have a new phone and when asked do i want to start this phone as a new phone or back up from last backup, i chose to back up from last back up and have had my recent photos texts and call replaced with ones from about 18 months ago. is there any way of undoing this?

i came home and my iphone is now frozzen on the apple screen and it hasnt been doing anything i put it in the charger and its not doing anything how do i get it to work so i can text and call and stuff

We are desperately trying to print our viber call history (messages are fine).
Viber used to give this as and option and could create a file but it never went anywhere.
I see viber are now saying they can't provide call history.
Previously you could go right back through the old Viber call history right to the start and now this seems to have changed and is only showing the last month.
Can anyone suggest anything at all we are really desperate and need these records.
Would really appreciate any advice.

YOu will need to contact your cell phone provider to resolve those issue, those are carrier features.

Hi! Please help. I have synced my IPhone 5 to Itunes. When I try to sync it to Iphone 6 plus, only the contacts, calendar, safari bookmarks and notes have synced to the latest date. The rest like SMS and Call History have only synced to June 2013.
I upgraded from an iPhone 4S to iPhone 6 Plus, I don't like to run iTunes, and iCloud backup is not so reliable, I think. Then I searched on the Internet, and some articles told me that I can directly transfer data from Phone to iPhone with some tools.
I doubt it first, then I gave a shot on one of them for the free trial. I follow the steps to transfer about 200 sms from my 4S to 6 Plus, and it works!

The following article has some useful tips that can help stabilize your iPhone.
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
