I deleted mail app. How to reinstall it?

I deleted Mail app on Mac OS X 10.6.7, and if I try to reinstall it, I get this message when launching: You have Mail version 4.2 (1078/1084). It can't be used on Mac OS X Version 10.6.7 (Build 10J869).  How do I reinstall it?

Download and install the 10.6.7 COMBO update. If that doesn't do the trick, use the Snow Leopard install disc and then run Software Update to get back to 10.6.7.

  • Accidentally deleted mail app: How do I get it back?

Today I somehow managed to delete my mail app -- it's totally gone. I can't find a way to get it back. Anyone know how I can reinstall it? I tried a fresh reinstall but it seems to remember my last setting with it gone. I have an iPhone 4.

It is not possible to delete any of the apps included with the firmware/OS. None of the apps included with the firmware/OS are available as a separate download and install because it isn't necessary.
If you are unable to locate the app within any folder on any home page, on your iPhone go to Settings > General > Reset and select Reset Home Screen Layout.

  • After deleting provisioned apps, how to reinstall as provisioned?

    Hi All,
I removed all provisioned apps from my master image. Now, a customer needs the native Mail client back.
I am not sure how to install the native mail client as a provisioned app for all user accounts. please help!
Using CopyProfile, MDT and WDS for Windows 8.1 deployment

My question really is, how do you provision an app downloaded from the windows store to all user accounts?
I think the term for what you are trying to do is "side loading".  Here is the top hit for that search term:

I downloaded TunesGoWatch by Wondershare. I deleted the app. Every time I turn on my computer I get a popup saying "TunesGoWatch can't be opened because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed." I deleted the app, how do I stop this popup?  Your help is truly appreciated

    First:
 (Apple menu) > System Preferences > Users & Groups > select your account > Login Items.
Determine if that program appears in that list. If it does, select it and then remove it from Login Items with the "–" (minus) button.
    Next:
Select the entire line that follows (triple-click to select it), then control-click, and from the contextual menu that appears, select Services > Open:
    /Library/StartupItems/
If the program or an alias to it appears in that folder, drag it to the Trash.
    Next:
When you log out or shut down your Mac, de-select the checkbox that begins with the words "Reopen windows... "

  • I didn't set up my outlook on my ipad mail app; how did it know/input my e-mail account?

I didn't set up my outlook e-mail account on my ipad mail app; how did it know/input my e-mail account?
I went to my mail app today, with the intention of setting it up with my e-mail account for the first time.  All of the e-mail associated with my outlook account was already there.  There does not appear to be a sign in or out for the app and I never set it up.  No one that uses my Ipad set it up.  My Itunes account, etc. is associated with that e-mail, but how did the information get synced there?

Follow up:  Is it somehow associated with my wireless network at home?  Am I only able to access the e-mail account on my mail app while I am sharing the server that my outlook account is associated with?

  • When I flag an email with my gmail account using Apple's Mail App how do I flag and set a reminder that at a specific to follow

When I flag an email with my gmail account using Apple's Mail App how do I flag and set a reminder that at a specific to time to follow up with that email ?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact Apple ID Support, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.

  • When I use gmail in my account in the mail app, how do I flag or "star" a message?

When I  i use gmail in the Mail app, how do I flag  or "star " a message?

This feature is not available with the iPhone's built in Mail app.  You can access GMail via a browser to get this functionality.  Personally, I prefer accessing my GMail with a browser on my iPad.

  • Mail.app - How can I Delete & Reinstall It

I'm having a Mail.app problem. I backed up the whole Archive (Saved it to USB Drive) and wants to delete the whole thing and remove it from my system then re-install it.
How can I do it ?
I'm using Mac OS X 10.8 latest version - iMac Machine.

System Preferences - Language & Text - Formats - Customize  allows custom date/time formats which can include the day of the year...
If say, one of the date formats was altered to include that - Mail might  show it, while say Finder & other apps use a different, longer/shorter format, without the added day of the year. choosing a different region, or inspecting the 'custom' region, should indicate if that's the case here.

  • You guys might think im crazy...i deleted mail app. HOW TO GET IT BACK?!!?

okay. yes, i am an idiot. so when i first got my mac, i had no .mac account, therefore saw no point in having the mail app. i tried making it work for my own email address, but it failed and made my laptop freeze up (remeber? im a moron.) anyway, i just got a .mac account. and i kinda sorta want to use the mail app. but, in case you havent realized this yet, its not on my computer. how the heck to i get it back? can i get it back? am i completely screwed?
and yes. i am COMPLETELY aware that deleting mail was one of the most idiotic things ive ever done in my life.

Check this link with instructions for installing an individual application such as the Mail.app with your Tiger install package.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301229
Your OS detail provided indicates you are running 10.4.3 but if you are running the current version - 10.4.8, after doing so you need to download the 10.4.8 PPC Combo Update and re-install 10.4.8 to get the Mail.app to the current version as of 10.4.8.
If you are running 10.4.3 and your Tiger install package includes an earlier version - 10.4, 10.4.1 or 10.4.2, you need to download the 10.4.3 PPC Combo Update and re-install 10.4.3 after doing so.

  • In the Mail App how do I delete the MobileMe account after I've moved my second email account to iCloud?

I have moved two accounts to iCloud. Both iCloud accounts appear on my iPad's Mail App. The MobileMe account is still there, however. In Settings only the iCloud account appears. How do I get rid of the now redundant MobileMe account?

This works for me: In the iPod's Settings select 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars' and delete the account that appears twice in the Mail App. The add same account. Go to Mail to affirm that the second account appears only once. Bingo!
Once the second account is in iCloud it can be deleted and added to iOS devices without worries.

  • I have to delete e-mails twice in mail.app, how come?

    Hello,
When I want to delete an e-mail (me.com account) from the trash folder in mail.app (7.2), I need to do it twice in order to succeed.
The first time I select and trash the e-mail, it just sits there. The second time I select and delete, it works.
Does anyone else have the same problem?
Is there a way to change this behaviour?
Thanks a lot and best regards.

  • Deleted Mail application, How do I reinstall it?

I have accidentally removed the Mail App from my computer, and I want to reinstall it, but I have lost my original OS install disk. Any ideas?

I don't remember if I said this already, but if the Mac came with Leopard, just call Apple and give them the serial no. They may be in the process of changing this policy, but they were always willing to send discs for a modest fee.
If not, Apple doesn't sell them any longer and full retail Leopard DVDs are insanely expensive, at least the last time I looked, which wasn't all that recently. Apple's price, when they were available, was $129, but look around on eBay or Amazon and they are asking much more than that. Warning: you may find less expensive DVDs on eBay, but many of those will be grey, machine specific discs that will only work on the Mac they came with. You want the full retail DVD.
