How much space is your Other using? You may be able to reduce.
How Do I Get Rid Of The “Other” Data Stored On My iPad Or iPhone?
    http://tinyurl.com/85w6xwn
With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

I have Windows XP laptop. Can I get the photos Saved on the iPad1 iOS4.3 from emails and websites etc. Onto my laptop as backup or in case I want to delete the photos from the iPad?
It never seems to synch fully with the laptop?

Ivon, when you are satisfied that you have successfully imported the new folders to the iPad you can go back (as I have described above) and delete the originals of those you copied out in order to avoid 'duplication' and also save space.
The method I have described also has advantages over creating new albums within the Photos app on the iPad since it 'duplicates' the photos and only permits the deletion of all so called copies. King_Penguin is correct when he states you can copy out photos originally taken with the iPad etc.

  • I would like to know how I can delete sync photos from my ipad as I have tried everything to delete them as they are unwanted and it was a first time try

I am having problems deleting unwanted photos from my photos app on my ipad, I synced with my pc as i wanted to see how the system worked, and now i cannot delete any of them, even with the delete button at the top left hand side, which does not function

If it was synced from your computer then it can't be deleted directly on the iPad, you will need remove/de-select it from where you synced it from on your computer and re-sync.

  • Can't delete SOME photos from my iPad Photo Album

    Hello there,
I need a bit of help.  I'm using an iPad 2 OS 6.0.1.
There's a few photos that I'm not able to delete from my Photos folder.
I click on the Photos App
    Then click on Edit
I then get the option to put check marks on the photos.  At that point I can click on the Delete button and delete SOME of them, but not all.
It's strage because some of the ones I can't delete, just seem to be duplicates of some of the ones I CAN delete.
In the past, I was syncing my iPad to my computer.  Since moving to the iCloud, I've stopped plugging my iPad into any computer.  I've read some message boards that say that this is because those photos were added by syncing to the laptop and that in order to remove them, you have to re-sync to the laptop.
One BIG issue is, that laptop is now not functioning.  Assuming these photos were added through that laptop, is there a way to remove them without syncing to that laptop?  Also, why would there be some duplicates.  Would it have been an error in the sync process that created the dups?
I'm thinking MAYBE the answer is going to be to sync the iPad to my NEW laptop.  If that's the answer, is that safe to do without risk of losing stuff?  (music, movies, apps, app data, settings)
    Thanks,
    Bill

  • How do I delete synced photos from my IPad 2? My computer is no longer holding a charge and I would like to delete photos I synced without my computer

I hope that it is not true that I cannot delete photos thaI synced to my iPad. I cannot use my computer because it is not charging. How do I remove synced photos from my iPad without the use of my ITunes?

This is a problem. Normally you do need to connect to the computer you've synced ith previously to delete albums that were copied from that computer.
In the case where the old computer fails, crashes or is sold or discarded, you need to get all of your stuff off the iPad and onto a new computer. Visit Apple support to learn how to do this. Once you establish a new tunes library on a different computer you can sync and delete the photo albums you no longer want.
Another option is to restore your iPad to its original state. That will delete everything including photos, non default apps, music, videos, etc.
Once reset and erased you can download all purchased apps again.

  • I have the original ipad. I can't delete my photos from the ipad, and the new itunes update does not give me the option to sync photos. What do I do?

I have the orignal ipad. I synced all my photos from my computer onto. Now I don't have enough storage on my ipad so I want to delete these photos. When I try from my ipad it only gives me the option to share or copy, NOT DELETE. I went to resync my ipad to itunes, after I downloaded the new version and now it doesn't give me an option to sync photos. How do I get rid of them?

    Wow.  That's weird.
Is your iPad jailbroke?  If it is, all bets are off.  If it is not jailbroke, keep reading.
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • Why am I getting an error when saving photos from mini ipad to macbook air?

I'm trying to download photos from my mini iPad to my MacBook Air and I got the attached message. Tried doing it several times and still got the same result. Is it because my start up hard disk is almost full? Please help. Thank you.

If your hard drive is full that could be a problem. Quit iPhoto restart the Mac and the iPad and try again.

  • HT204022 Is there a way to delete unwanted photos from an iPad?  The Photos app on the iPad 3 has no option to delete photos that are synched into it via iCloud or iTunes.

Is there a way to delete unwanted pictures from the Photos app on an iPad?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Navigate to the photo sheet page (the one with the thumbnails) tap the edit button in the top right corner, tap the photos you want to delete to select them, tap the delete button in the bottom right corner.

  • HT201077 I am having trouble deleting individual photos from my iPad on shared photo streaming.

I am having trouble deleting individual photos on Shared Photo Streaming on my iPad 2. There is not a trash can or delete option. If I choose edit on the first page, and I try to delete, the next step is to cancel photo sharing, which I don't want to do.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Youre trying to delete photos from someone else's shared photostream. You can only delete photos that belong to you.

  • Can't delete certain photos from my iPad!

    So this is the situation;
I was on vacation on a friend's house in Colombia and sync'd my iPad to his PC and sync'd a folder with 400 family photos.
When I got back home (Florida) I realized I wanted to delete 2 specific photos.
Obviously the original folder with the photos is in another PC in another country, so I can't delete thos 2 photos on the PC and re-sync the iPad.
... How. Do. I. Do. This?
And is Apple EVER going to fix this awful problem?!

You can't delete photos synced from a computer directly on the iPad, only by removing them from where they were synced from and then re-syncing. As you don't have access to that computer, then you could use one of the photo transfer apps from the App Store (e.g. Simple Transfer , which also also has a free 'lite' version called Simple Photo & Video Transfer) to copy them onto your computer, delete the ones you don't want from your computer, and then sync that folder onto your iPad.
Note that only the contents of the most recent photo sync will remain on your iPad, so if there are any other (synced) photo folders/albums that you have on your iPad that you want to still be on there after re-syncing, then you will need to include them in the sync.
As to it being an 'awful problem', the assumption is that if you sync photos from a computer then you should know what you are syncing and not be copying over photos that you don't want - syncing from a computer that you don't own/have continues access to is probably not that regular an occurrence. But if you want to leave feedback for Apple then you can do so here : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

  • HT201077 Is it possible to retrieve photos that have been photostreamed thru icloud to my mac from my daughter in Europe who has deleted 1000 photos from her ipad that I didn't know I had to save ?

Is it possible to retrieve 1000 photos that have been photostreamed thru to my mac from my daughter in Europe but not saved on my mac.  These same photos have been deleted from my daughters ipad in Europe ?

If the photos have been deleted from Photo Stream, then they are gone unless they have been saved elsewhere. Are they not in the Camera Roll of the iOS device they were taken on?
Photo Stream is not a permanent storage solution. It stores up to the last 1000 photos taken on an iOS device for a maximum of 30 days.

  • How do I delete imported photos from the iPad?

I have accidentally downloaded pictures from laptop I don't want on the iPad. I can't seem to delete them. How is it done?
    Many thanks,
    Avicia

You will have to sync again with iTunes to remove them. If you uncheck the box like in the picture below, it will remove all photos when you sync. Or keep that box checked and uncheck the boxes next to the photos, albums, folder that you want to remove from on the iPad.
In the example below, if I uncheck the box next to Disney 2010 when I sync, those photos will be removed. You will have to click on Apply in the lower right corner of the iTunes window as well to sync.
