First, don't give up and DO NOT restore your ipad. That will guarantee your pictures will be gone. Can you give more info? Has it been synced with itunes before/after you took the pictures? Please let us know all info including whether or not you use icloud backups.

Also, I just googled the question "how retrieve deleted pictures from ipad" and a list of sites/links came up. I haven't/don't have time to read them right now, but if you google it you might get some answers. However, don't act too fast. Know the source of the links and consider those sources. Read them and user reviews/responses to see if the different solutions work.

the correct way to move your iPhoto library to an exter4nal drive is
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive
And once you move it there is no reason to delete photos form the new location - taht is why you moved it to allow space for it
one possible guess is that you need to switch to the correct library - as noted above depress and hold the option key and launch iPhoto - use the select library window to select the correct library
another possible guess is that you have a corrupted library on the external drive - be sure you are using that library and Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library database

Deleted some contacts...can I get them back if they are not in my backups?

I used an app that let's you delete a ton of contacts at once, I think it was called Cleanup.
Now when I conntected my phone to my computer after deleting a few thousand contacts outlook synced my computer's contacts with my iPhone (not sure if this is regular) and so all of my contacts that got deleted from my phone also got deleted from my computer and now I'm missing contact info from about 3,000 of my clients.
I downloaded a backup recovery program but only 2 backups showed up and both contained the address book I currently have. Is there any other way I can get my contacts back?

According to this document: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 Contacts are not included in the backup. Only the settings for Mail, Contacts, Calendars accounts. It's not worded very well, but that's what it means. The information regarding the accounts are synced to is backed up, not the contacts themselves. Contacts are intended to be synced with an address book or cloud service. There is only enough contact information in the backup to maintain the "Phone Favorites" list. (the emphasis below is mine).
Backed-up information includes purchased music, TV shows, apps, and books*; photos and video in the Camera Roll; device settings (for example, Phone Favorites, Wallpaper, and Mail, Contacts, Calendar accounts); app data; Home screen and app organization; Messages (iMessage, SMS, and MMS), ringtones, and more. Media files synced from your computer aren’t backed up, but can be restored by syncing with iTunes.

OK, here are some step by step instructions:
1. Open a Finder window.
2. In the Finder window on the left side you will see a folder that says Applications. Click the folder.
3. Click the Time Machine icon in your Dock and wait for Time Machine to open.
4. On the right side of TM you will see a time line, click a date that you know the Application was still there and wait for TM to go to that date. You will see the date in the bottom center.
5. While in the Applications folder scroll down until you find Photo Booth and then click Restore in the bottom right.
At that point Photo Booth should be restored and working. If it isn't then make an appointment at your local Apple Store and take the machine in. They will help you restore the application. If you don't have an Apple Store in your area contact an AASP or call Apple Care for some help.

Photos on Nano - Can I get them back to my computer?

I'll try to be brief. I recently re-installed the operating sys on my macbook. Before I did so I backed up everything (at least I thought I did). My back-up did not contain all of my photos. I thought they were gone, but they are still on my nano. Question is can I get them back? I tunes is now asking me to re-synch my nano (will replace all existing music and phots on the nano with what is on the computer). That's fine on the music end, all of that was backed up and restored. But I can't resynch with the photos or I'll loose them. So how, if it is possible can I get the photos on my nano back to the computer?

If the iPod was last backed up with the message on the iPod then restore from backup.
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
Make sure that you do not backup the iBod since that will overwrite the last backup.

All my emails just disappeared, deleted from iphone...can i get them back?

I was opening an email and the application got stuck with a blank white screen. I turned it off and back on and all my saved mail was gone...everything I've received, everything i've sent...everything. All my accounts are still there and it is receiving new mail fine just like it should. It is just that all my old mail is gone.
Does itunes backup mail when doing a sync backup? I've never had to restore before so i am afraid...will it restore to original phone (blank phone) or will it restore it to what was on the phone before i backed it up?

No, I haven't been able to get them back. I have searched and searched and can't find any information on it. I guess they are gone forever...which really stinks because I use my iphone to send most of my emails so they were all on the phone instead of in my Outlook.

Accidentally deleted my photo album - how can I get it back?

I accidentally deleted my photo album in iPhoto. Now it's gone.
I have a backup on an external HD.
But when I start time machine and go back to the last backup, I can only find all the photos, but not the albums. Can please anyone help? Thanks

Since the albums are just pointers to the images and some extra information, they don't really exist separately, but are stored in the database.
The best plan is to restore the whole library from the backup and re-import any added pictures.
(Congratulations on having a backup!)
You could use time machine to create a *duplicate* library, remove everything from the duplicate except the photo book and the images it contains and then use the third party iPhoto Library Manage go merge the duplicate back with the original, but that sounds like too much work for me. 8^)

HELP!! I had two libraries in iPhoto, Photos imported the wrong one, and now I have lost 10,000 photos. How can I get them back??

I originally had two libraries in iPhoto, my wife and I share two iMacs at different locations but we wanted to share the photos and it was set up this way Apple Geniuses at the store I have no idea why. Anyway, I updated to OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.3 with the new 'photos' app. It asked me to choose one of the libraries and evidently I assume I must have chosen the wrong one. It only imported 322 random photos, not the 10,000+ we had in iPhoto. I can no longer find these photos or the other library anywhere, it appears to have been deleted. I have tried 'alt' clicking the icon which used to open a 'choose library' box, but this no longer works in photos or iPhoto. I have no idea where it has gone and it contains precious memories over the years including the birth of our children. Can someone please help???

Since you are sharing it between two Macs, is the library on an external drive or a NAS, or another remotely mounted volume?
If the library is not on a directly connected disk, formatted MacOS Extended, move the original iPhoto Library to a directly connected, correctly disk.
And the try first the iPhoto Library First Aid Tools on that library. Repair the permissions, and repair the database in iPhoto. Then try to migrate again to Photos.
To repair hold down the alt/option and the command key simultaneously while double clicking the iPhoto Library to launch the iPhoto Library First Aid tools. Hold down both keys firmly and long enough, until the First Aid panel will appear.
The select "Repair Permissions". And then repeat, but select "Repair Database"
But make a current backup of your iPhoto Library before you try this.

Facebook Albums have been deleted, yet still in iphoto - can I get them back on Facebook?

Something has happened on my Facebook account, and all my albums are missing (70+ albums)
However, on iPhoto - All of the Facebook albums still show up under the WEB section.
This would be ok, BUT, when i click onto an album a message comes up saying "Facebook album 'Holiday' has been deleted from Facebook, it will now be deleted from iPhoto" the only option is to click OK, or to force quit.
Is there a way to re-sync the albums back onto Facebook?
I know there are lots of forums on syncing the other way - from Facebook to iPhoto, but this question concerns syncing from iPhoto back up to Facebook...

exact same problem. I was doing a big clean up on my hard drive. and the FB section kept turning and turning. then I started to realize it is dumping my albums on FB!!
The weird thing is I've been synching albums to FB for years and never had this problem when I delete albums form iPhoto last year. I think this is the first time I have this problem. ie, there are albums that I have deleted on iphoto before and theya re still on FB now, I wonder if it is an iPhoto 11 problem.

Lock Photo app lost all my photo's. Can I get them back?

I had an app that was supposed to keep some of my photo's/video's private per password (LockPhoto HD). It worked fine until the last update. I went in to view a photo and all I have left are empty folders. The folders are still named, but my photo's are gone.
There is no way to contact the software developer or Costani about this app. This has happened to others, too, as the reviews of the app indicate. I have followed the app troubleshooting tips in Support, but nothing.
Is there a way to get my photo's back? How can I contact the developer/company to ask for a fix? Thanks for any help.

There's pretty much nothing anyone here can do for you. It's up to the app developer to support their product.
