If you synced/backed up your iphone while they were there, then you can restore from backup.
Otherwise, they are gone.

I used an app that let's you delete a ton of contacts at once, I think it was called Cleanup.
Now when I conntected my phone to my computer after deleting a few thousand contacts outlook synced my computer's contacts with my iPhone (not sure if this is regular) and so all of my contacts that got deleted from my phone also got deleted from my computer and now I'm missing contact info from about 3,000 of my clients.
I downloaded a backup recovery program but only 2 backups showed up and both contained the address book I currently have. Is there any other way I can get my contacts back?

According to this document: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 Contacts are not included in the backup. Only the settings for Mail, Contacts, Calendars accounts. It's not worded very well, but that's what it means. The information regarding the accounts are synced to is backed up, not the contacts themselves. Contacts are intended to be synced with an address book or cloud service. There is only enough contact information in the backup to maintain the "Phone Favorites" list. (the emphasis below is mine).
Backed-up information includes purchased music, TV shows, apps, and books*; photos and video in the Camera Roll; device settings (for example, Phone Favorites, Wallpaper, and Mail, Contacts, Calendar accounts); app data; Home screen and app organization; Messages (iMessage, SMS, and MMS), ringtones, and more. Media files synced from your computer aren’t backed up, but can be restored by syncing with iTunes.

First, don't give up and DO NOT restore your ipad. That will guarantee your pictures will be gone. Can you give more info? Has it been synced with itunes before/after you took the pictures? Please let us know all info including whether or not you use icloud backups.

More info might help you get more specific info to retrieve your pictures.
Also, I just googled the question "how retrieve deleted pictures from ipad" and a list of sites/links came up. I haven't/don't have time to read them right now, but if you google it you might get some answers. However, don't act too fast. Know the source of the links and consider those sources. Read them and user reviews/responses to see if the different solutions work.

Photo stream only keeps photos for 30 days. After that, they are removed from photo stream but will remain on your device. However, if you update your phone then reconnect to your photo stream, you will only get the photos from the last 30 days as the others are no longer there.

Whenever you connect iPhone in iTunes, it syncs and a backup is created. Check backup folder if you have that time-stamped file saved.

Thanks, but I checked iCloud and it has none of them.
If it backed up to my laptop, that died and I just got the new computer. The one that's crashed won't even boot, so there's no way to even tell if it was syncing the contacts along with all the phone photos. Literally happened at the same time - it was because I had the new computer that I was finally able to pull the photos off the phone and make room for the upgrade. It had refused to upgrade for lack of space for some time.
I had thought it was set to sync to iCloud but it vanished from BOTH my phone and the cloud. That's why I'm so angry about it.

The only ways to get them back are to sync with your iCloud account, if you have one set up with your contact and messages being backed up there, or to sync with your computer that you use to backup your iPhone data and apps.

All my emails just disappeared, deleted from iphone...can i get them back?

I was opening an email and the application got stuck with a blank white screen. I turned it off and back on and all my saved mail was gone...everything I've received, everything i've sent...everything. All my accounts are still there and it is receiving new mail fine just like it should. It is just that all my old mail is gone.
Does itunes backup mail when doing a sync backup? I've never had to restore before so i am afraid...will it restore to original phone (blank phone) or will it restore it to what was on the phone before i backed it up?

No, I haven't been able to get them back. I have searched and searched and can't find any information on it. I guess they are gone forever...which really stinks because I use my iphone to send most of my emails so they were all on the phone instead of in my Outlook.

i got my new iphone a week ago. i started using it straight away, before i knew about icloud and that i could sync all my contacts, etc to the new phone. i then turned on icloud for contacts - this worked fine. today i tried putting my music onto my phone. i clicked 'recognise a B's iphone' in itunes - this has synced music and apps. the only problem is that i have lost all my text messages from the last week. the phone is showing old messages from december 2012 only! can i delete these and get my recent messages back??

You did more than sync the new iPhone with iTunes since syncing with iTunes does not include text messages.
The first time a new iPhone is connected to iTunes that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device or set up the device as a new iPhone.
The former replaces all data on the iPhone that is included with the selected backup for the other iPhone or iOS device. The latter does not.
If a backup for your new iPhone was not created with iCloud or if created and has been updated since the backup was transferred from the other iPhone or iOS device, the previous data on the new iPhone is gone.

Your problem is that she used your icloud ID to connect to icloud and thus had all your data synced to her device. Contacts are not saved in a backup to icloud, since they are stored independently in the Contacts section of icloud. If someone deletes them, they are gone. If you had them on the PC would they be available in some backup you frequently make of the PC?
