I deleted the applications on my 2nd gen iPod accidentally, now I can't download anything because everything's updated and the newest software isn't available for 2nd gen iPods?! What's the point of buying apple devices then?? They're meant to last long.
So basically, am I now suppose to throw the device away??
I was really disappointed in Apple when I found out that 1st and 2nd generation iPods cannot be updated. So my device is pointless now?
Or is there any kind of solution?
Many developers when they updated their apps to support iOS 5 and 6 dropped compatibility for iOS 4.2.1 and earlier.
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.
Your iPod still plays music, gets and sends mail, surfs the web and does other things. to. It is old by electronics standards.

Again, this only affects you if someone *redownloaded* content with a different ID. In my case, I emailed iTunes Store support, explained the situation, and they reset the counter. I recommend you try the same
If you read discussion boards, this is a significant change from a year ago, when Apple told people in the same situation to go f&$# themselves. Clearly it's dawning on them that this is a stupid policy, and my guess is if people keep complaining they'll change it to something more reasonable. Remember, it wasn't that long ago you couldn't re-download content at all.
Apple can't really afford to play hardball on this. Sure, the hardcore fanboys will always say "Thank you sir, may I have another" whatever Apple throws at them, but the rest of us will just switch to Amazon, which has none of these restrictions. -

Try the remaining items of:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

First, to prevent this from happening again, turn off "In App purchases" in the Restrictions settings on your iPod. As to a refund, that's not automatic since the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. You can contact the iTunes Store, explain the reason for your request, and ask, though:

They're usually pretty lenient in the case of inadvertent purchases by children. No guarantees, though, just as if your child was in a store and ate a bunch of food (in other words, something that can't just be returned).

It's been released in your country, and you've received an email to say that it's available for downloading (and you have enough money on your account to buy/download it, pre-orders are charged for at the time of downloading) ? If it is then does the Store > Check For Available Downloads menu option on your computer's iTunes download it, or does it show in the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes, and the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your iPod, for downloading ?

I downloaded the last update on my iPad and now I can not download from the apple store or iTunes. I just sits there and continues to act like it will but nothing happens. And then it times out and goes back to home screen. Have a 32 so have have plenty of room.
What would you advice I do? I purchased this iPad in dec 2013.Double tap your home button to bring up the most recently used apps.
You'll see the app icon below and a screen shot of the app page above.
With your finger swipe the app page above the app icon upwards to fully close the apps (you should do this regularly).
Now, reboot your iPad. Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart. You won't lose any data or settings.
When your iPad comes back up, see if you can download again. -
I deleted the folder that saves everything that is downloaded from Firefox. After that I can't download anymore. I've tried clearing my download history, reset the download folder, reset the download action by renaming the mimetype.rdfs file and it's still not working. I've tried to choose a different download folder but it doesn't let me select any folder at all. If I select "ask me where to save files" and then try and download something, the download doesn't start after I select save to. The only time it does actually download is when I select "open with...windows mediaplayer" when downloading then the download will start. Please help. Thank you.
You broke your phone by getting it wet. Nothing more to say. Bring it in to Apple for an out of warranty exchange or buy a new phone. There's really nothing else we users here can help you with.

Does Apple plan to ever make the ios 4.3 available for the 2nd generation touch? Many of my apps are not longer working because they require the update. For example my Facebook app stopped working and there is no alternative app for it.

Since the introduction of iCloud, I've had this problem with the Apple ID. I've tried to "manage my Apple ID" but clicking the box to "make Apple ID and primary email address one and the same" but it just won't work. I'd given up and just ignored everything iCloud... I've ignored iCloud on my iPad mini and my iPhone 5 and now I'm going to get an iPhone 5s. I'm sure this will be an issue again. FYI, my Apple ID is in the format "a_xyz" only and it's working for purchases and upgrading of iOS, etc just not with iCloud. Any suggestions other than to create a new iCloud account with a different name? Thanks!

I want to completely remove my payment information but I don't know where the NONE option is in payment information in settings. As suggested try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the iPad back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.
Also, it might help if you provide a little more detail on what you mean by "not working" -

So ANNOYED! I changed my apple id and it wont update on my app store. Now I can't download anything.
Not sure what is going on. I changed my apple id, made the new one my only apple id. And my iPad won't recognize it. It is still using my old one especially in the app store. It won't change at all. Anyone have suggestions?
If you updated your existing account then try logging out of it on the iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPad. If you created a new account then any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can download updates to its apps.
