I deleted the U2 album from my library but it won't leave my phone even after I sync…help!

Hello howdog,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains steps to remove the U2 album:

  • The album downloaded except one song. It says purchased rather than play and there is no option to try and download the one song that had an error.  I deleted the song name from our library, but it still won't let me download. Any advice?

Where are you looking to download them from ? You might be able to redownload them via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your Mac's iTunes. If that album shows there but doesn't have the cloud symbol against it for redownloading then that implies that it's still in your iTunes library

  • I successfully deleted the U2 album from my ICloud account

I successfully deleted the U2 album from my ICloud account and followed the the Apple page directions to delete the individual songs from my IPhone 4, but the songs remain.  My IPhone still shows an album picture, the song title(s), and the little ICloud icon.  What if any are my options to remove these songs from my IPhone?

That should disappear shortly. I seem to recall there is a slight delay between executing the change for the page and when it no longer shows up in iTunes.

  • I have deleted the Facetime icon from a Contact but now want to reinstate it. How do I do this?

On my iPad Air, I have deleted the FaceTime icon from many of my listed Contacts. Is there a way to restore the icon and FaceTime facility to selected contacts?

Some of my contacts in Contacts have the Facetime icon in their listing, some don't. I guess I've deleted it from those where it's missing, though not sure how! How can I get it back when it's missing? in Edit, I can add new email addresses, phone numbers etc, but I can't figure out how to add FaceTime to a listing.

  • How do i delete the U2 album from my ipod that i didn't ask for?

Okay the new U2 album just showed up on my ipod awhile back and I tried to like it but i don't. I deleted the songs but the album cover and all is still there. It's not that big a deal but it just cramps my style.

    Go to https://itunes.com/soi-remove.
Click Remove Album to confirm you'd like to remove the album from your account.
Sign in with the Apple ID and password you use to buy from the iTunes Store.
You'll see a confirmation message that the album has been removed from your account.

  • Make it more difficult to delete songs or albums from your library

Currently, if you are listening to spotify on your computer (in my case a Macbook), you just need to hit delete when a song is selected and its gone from your library. Is it possible to have a prompt box appear to check you actually wanted to delete it? Or at least an 'undo delete' button? So many times I have removed music from my library by accident and have had to find and save it again. Thanks

  • Why do songs keep duplicating in my Library. One song has duplicated five times. If  I delete the unwanted duplicates will it delete the song entirely from my library? How do I get the four unwanted duplicates out of my library?

Why do songs keep duplicating in my library. One song has duplicated five times. I have many that have duplicated up to 3 times. How do I get the duplicates  out of the library without removing the song completely?

As above, Apple's official advice on duplicates is here... HT2905: How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls such as lost ratings and playlist membership.
Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created.  If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background, this post for detailed instructions, and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.
(If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to show it temporarily or CTRL+B to keep it displayed.)
The most recent version of the script can tidy dead links as long as there is at least one live duplicate to merge stats and playlist membership to and should cope sensibly when the same file has been added via multiple paths.

  • I deleted the app FileMaster from my iPad but still have it on my iphone. How can I get it back on my iPad?

I deleted the app FileMaster on my iPad. I still have the app on my iPhone. I cannot re download it from the App Store as it has been removed. I do not have a computer to use to access iTunes. Both my devices are backed up to the iCloud. When I go to App Store>purchases>on this device/not on this device I cannot see the app on either the iPad or the iPhone. It is alive and working well on the iPhone. From what I have read, restoring a backup will not solve the problem as apple will only restore currently available apps which if is true who knows how many apps would be lost through a backup.
The app offers you to share it but the link now draws a blank screen in the App Store.  I don't need the lost data just the app back. It was stalling constantly so I deleted it before realising it's no longer available. I don't wish to jailbreak my iPad.
    Please help.

I Had it on my iPod, but I reset to factory settings and it got deleted :( If I find a way to get it back, I'll post it here so you can too.

  • I deleted the 4oD app from my iPad but it still appears in the list in Settings. How do I get rid of that? It is causing problems when they issue updates as it apparently thinks I still have it when I don't.

Can any one help me get rid of a deleted app 4oD that still appears in the Settings list. I deleted it from the home screen and Spotlight search confirms it has gone. It is causing problems because I get notified of updates and I cannot get rid of them either. I have tried re-downloading via my MacBook because there isn't a download option from the iPad (App Store clearly think I still have it when I don't) then deleting again but the listing in Settings remains.
    It is really irritating me.
    Thanks.

Have you tried deleting the App within the Settings menu (rather than from the Home Screen)?
    Settings>General>Usage>
From the Apps list, find the App (press "Show all Apps" if the app is not in the immediately shown list), tap on the app you wish to delete, then tap "Delete App"

  • I deleted the duplicated playlists from my MacBook, but how do I delete the duplicated playlists from my iPad?

I already synced and all of that, but the empty playlists return to my iPad even though they are deleted on my MacBook. Is there any way to mass delete these or do I have to spend countless hours deleting them one at a time?

My understanding is it should show up here on my system preferences page. This is a screenshot of what my system preferences looks like. I think it is supposed to be under the "Internet & Network" section?
iCloud should be showing where you are seeing "Mobile Me".
What is your MacOS X version? You can see the version number  from the -menu in the main menu bar:   " > About this Mac".
You need at least MacOS X 10.7.5 to be using iCloud.   http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmfc0f1e2a
What exactly did you do to make the iCloud panel vanish? Did you reinstall your system?

  • I created a CD of one track from my library but it won't play on any CD player

I burned a CD of one track from my library and can see the track on the CD but it won't play on any CD player....help!  My daughter needs this track to try out for her school talent show.

Did you burn the CD as an audio CD?
If not, that's your problem. Otherwise, without more details I can only guess. You might try a different brand of disk, or if you're using CD-RW try CD-R.
    Regards.

  • I want to delete the U2 album from my cloud

NO, this was not a gift, I could throw away a gift if I didn't like it. This is SPAM. I can't believe Apple is doing this, forcing content on my phone!!!
if I turn off the "Show Music in the Cloud" option it will hide all my other songs which are in the Cloud and I don't want that. If I leave it on whenever I listen to songs on shuffle (something I do very often) I might need to hear U2 songs and I don't want that.
OK, Apple got a deal with U2 to push their horrible music on everyone's devices, fine. Now they need to give us a chance to delete it if we don't want it!!

I agree. Apple, please remove U2 from my account.
If I wanted to buy a device that featured music I had no interest in, I would've bought a radio. Not an Iphone/Ipad. Nice work.
Atleast when Lands End sent out a copy of GQ to cause much upset across the board of unsuspecting customers (http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/14/business/media/risque-promotion-prompts-outcry-from-lands-end-customers.html?_r=0) , they atleast could just throw it in the garbage if they didn't want it. But me? Nope.. now it is in permanent rotation in my music collection. Hope this gets fixed soon.. and please don't send me more 'bonus music' for my account. I have enough problems dealing with SPAM elsewhere in my life. I would hate to think that Apple not only is vulnerable to SPAM , it is now in the SPAM business.
