I have a Mac book and I was trying to update it in the middle of it.it said to restart so I did and it will not stop loading

OK, lets do a complete overhaul to make sure it's working ok.
First to check your Windows system file for any corruption:
Go to command prompt (START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES right mouse click "command prompt" and choose "Run as Administrator"
type in
sfc /scannow
let Windows fix any system files that need to be repaired.
Restart the computer.
Start iTunes and see if it is ok.
If it doesn't, will have to go through the whole process of uninstalling and installing acccording to the following steps:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:

Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
iTunes
QuickTime
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)

3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

The update to osx 10.8.2 has not taken effect, showed it downloading but did not restart and why is the update still available?

the update to osx 10.8.2 has not taken effect? it showed it downloading the update in the app browser but did not restart of its own accord or take me to the grey screen it describes. after restarting myself it still says the upgrade is still available? and iphoto does not work as it needs 10.8.2 to work!
what am i not doing right? this could well be me being thick. so any help would be much appreciated.

I reinstalled my iphoto and it keeps loading

ok so I reinstalled my iphoto and now when I open it it just shows a loading icon. Its as if something is loading but nothing happens. Where are my photos and why does it keep loading??

In your Pictures folder is a icon called iPhoto Library, you can right click on this icon and "show package contents" inside is a folder called Originals.
You can use the Finder to Duplicate this folder and then move the OrigianalsCopy out of the folder and onto your Desktop, then to another external drive and diconnect, along with other personal files as you might be having a bigger problem (like a dying hard drive) . You now have your photo's.

If you reinstalled iPhoto, it's a older version most likely than the one your iPhoto Library uses, so use the Software Update under the Apple menu to get it current.
Next you may want to try restting your iPhoto

Next you might be having some sort of issue, perhaps a corrupt iPhoto preference file, see the #12 and #13 OnyX steps and other Steps here to try to locate your issue.

I down loaded Firefox 3.6.10, did the execution and still when load it as my browser I get a message that says "Almost there". What is going on?

When I load Firefox as my browser, a screen comes up that wants me to download the 3.6.10 version again but, as I said, it has been downloaded, executed and I have tried this several times with the same result. I run Vista Home Premium operating system. I can still browse the internet but still get my home page as "You are almost there" or some such. What should I do?

I have tried everything I could to fix this, but some things require actually being on Firefox, and since I cannot get on, I cannot click on the tabs to do it. I have even totally uninstalled firefox, and that has not fixed this. I still get the same message that firefox is running and I need to close it or restart (which I have also tried dozens of times). I have removed things like Java, and that has not helped either. If I cannot even get on line in firefox, how can I fix this. I am not crazy about using internet explorer, but right now, it is my only option. I even tried to start in safe mode, and the same message box pops up!

V3.6.17 keeps downloading forever. A message says that it will be installed the next time firefox restarts and I keep restarting but it keeps downloading, and never installing. What could be the problem?

Under the help menu I keep seeing "downloading firefox 3.1.6.17" and when I click on that option a window comes up showing v3.6.17 downloading. You can try to clear the Flash local storage and settings if the problem is with the Flash plugin.

Are you using a separate Apple ID on each device?
Are you syncing it with your home computer?
For photos and some other things just go to Settings>iCloud and deleted the iCloud account or use a different Apple ID for the account
If you sync to your computer use the manual method

Go to Settings>iTunes and App store and turn off automatic downloaid and turn off SHOW ALL
But to really help we need to more how yo use the school device and the ID used on the device

I am setting up ipad and it says to verify account. I opened email and see where it says click here to verify. I did multiple times and it keeps saying session timed out?? :/

I am having trouble ejecting a disk that got a code error on it. I do not know the error code. I did the restart and hold the mouse down and it ejected. Inserted another disk and this got an error code on it too. However I can't get this disk to eject

1 - open the Terminal application (in the Applications/Utilities folder).

4) installed print driver 1.41 -> it works (I don't know if it worked after updating to 10.4.8, but never had any troubles)

6) Backed up HD. this process was stopped with this error message:

7) I replaced this file from a back up. The two files had the same date and size. This did not help problems. I then was able to complete the backup successfully

1) I did a archive and install, keeping users preferences.
rebooting I got this error:
Application Launch Failure
The application "Transport Monitor" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "8<Transport Monitor><Transport Monitor><HotSyncLib.PPC>"
2) After reading Apple's warnings that things might not work properly after an archive and install until you upgrade to version you had before, I downloaded the 10.4.8 combo updater.
Still got the same error when rebooting
3) Ran software update and updated Daylight savings, some security patches, Java, etc.
4) On reboot I still get this error about the Transport Monitor/shared library
HELP?

Perhaps you should try reinstalling Photoshop and Nisus Writer, but first be sure you completely uninstall them:

Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Most applications create preference files which are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can located them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.
There are also several shareware utilities that can uninstall applications:

Uninstaller
Spring Cleaning
Look for them at www.versiontracker.com or www.mackupdate.com.

I have been having problems with my atv 3 not transmitting/receiving 5.1 surround. Whether I stream from my computer or watch movies, I am getting no 5.1 audio. The atv won't even show the option for surround. I tried to restore and reset the device but it didn't help.
I haven't had any problems with missing apps or freezing or anything similar to what you are experiencing. This update has many bugs. Other threads have reported even more problems. Hopefully I can go back to the previous update.
