They will be gone from the iphone, but you should be syning all contacts to your computer regularly and should be importing all pics to your computer regularly, particularly before any update.
Have you failed to do this?

After setting up an "Exchange" mail account on my device, iPad/iPhone, it requires a new passcode to be set before data will be downloaded. The passcode is a requirement set by the administrator of the Exchange server you are connecting to.
It is purely for security purposes.
If you do not want the passcode, you must remove the Exchange account. There is no way around it. -
I downloaded the Keynote app to use on my iPad and because of iCloud, it is trying unsuccessfully to download onto my iPhone. How can I get it to stop attempting to download onto my iPhone? It says waiting and I can't delete it (no X to click). Thx!
Did you try shutting down the device? Resetting? Disabling iCloud? Disabling auto-update?
I'd find the problem that is keeping the download from proceeding and fix that so that the process can finish...sounds like it may be your connection or a server issue, in which case you may need to wait. -

Without a backup, the use of iTunes or the use of iCloud, your only choice is to restore the device as new to remove the passcode. -

Can someone please guide me through this, I did an update to my imac because I heard it's good to always update. So I did it and just left it cause I knew it would take awhile cause it was my first time updating it. When I came back to it, I turned it back on and my iphoto wouldn't open..it had a question mark symbol over it and it did the same with my photobooth. It won't open and just a question mark symbol over it. So I check out my Apps folder and they are GONE and I checked out other file folders like utilities and some app is missing from there too. I just want my comp back to the way it was, it was working fine...like a charm but now these apps are gone.
Do you know which update? First thing to do right now is to open up Disk Utility in Applications> Utilities in your Hard Drive Folder. Select the drive, which is the topmost listing and click on the Verify Disk button. If you get a good report there, no errors, then go on to Repair Permissions. This will take up to an hour in Leopard so give it time. If Disk Utility finds errors, post back for more directions.

Thank you, cor-el. Your helpful instructions were far over my head. I ended up downgrading to a previous version of Firefox, and all the browser options returned.
THEN... the Norton went fubar, and we lost use of all browsers; couldn't connect to the Internet at all on that laptop. Ended up pulling out an old one, found a Norton representative who instructed us to download onto a flash drive, and used that to uninstall the Norton. Now we have all browsers working normally, with all search functions intact. -
Basically I want the library from my old memory drive, which was authorized on my "first" computer. If I de-authorize both computers (even if it's really the same laptop, different hard drive) can I get library from both? How does this work? Help!
The apps that you had will be listed in your purchase history if you login to your account in iTunes on your computer - the list isn't very user friendly though as it's listed by date order and will include all app updates that you've downloaded (so an app will appear multiple times if you've downloaded it's updates). You can re-download apps, though it's a manual process as you need to find them yourself in the app store : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519 .
If the apps are in your iTunes library then the restore might work - a backup contains app data/settings, but not the app itself, so without the app available to it the restore can't install the app and therefore it's content. -
How do I remove unautherized in-app charges from my account?
The first line of prevention is you. How were these "unauthorized" charges even made in the first place? Was it a child under your control? Did you leave your device around unattended? Did you lose the device and not take steps to cancel features activated on the device? Did you not read the fine print and note that some applications have secondary charges or subscription services?

At the moment I am unable to update my phone to any new software as I still have the software from when I first got my iPhone4. I would be very grateful if somebody had some advice for me on what I can do as I have a lot on my iPhone including songs, albums, games etc. and i really don't want to lose anything but I have heard connecting to a different laptop will wipe everything.

The iPhone is not a backup device. Did you not back up your computer?
If the music was purchased from the iTunes store, you can re-download it without charge. Otherwise, you will need to invest in 3rd party software to try and extract it from the phone. -
I'm relieved the playlists (there are 11 in the folder) are still on my phone, but I can find them nowhere in itunes. Other playlists are still there- just that one folder has disappeared. I synched my new ipad to the library, and when I did, the playlist was not one of the options in itunes.
Background: I have enabled sharing on our home network, and I haven't moved the locations of itunes files or changed anything with my computer, the settings, or my itunes login (apple id).
My goal is to restore the playlists from my iphone to the itunes library on my laptop so I can then synch the playlists to my ipad.

Did you not do File > Transfer Purchases when connected to your computer's iTunes to copy your iTunes purchases over, and/or have you not got a backup copy of your music somewhere e.g. on an external drive ?

Check Settings > General > Restrictions on Safari, iTunes, etc.

Hello, I have been experiencing similar problems and followed the suggestion and yes, the raw icon comes up as illustrated but there is nothing there to indicate any further action can be taken. So I am presuming that means it is installed and no further action required?
Here's my problem: I have had no problems getting my pics into my organiser in Elements 12 from either my Nikon D7100 or my Fujifilm X100S - until last week. Suddenly when they are imported all I see is the timer icons but they don't open to let me view them. If I click on one it will open and I can then edit it but it will not save an image onto the grid for me to view so it's really frustrating not being able to view all my photos in order to decide what to edit and compare them.
Here's what action I've taken so far - restarted the computer (endlessly), checked the updates and installed them, checked I have the latest raw plug in (I do) and gone into edit/update thumbnail (doesn't do a thing) - and torn out a fair amount of my hair. So anyone out there experienced this and can give me some advice? Please?
