I did it, I bought an I book! some questions.
I made the switch in March with a mini and haven't looked back. I just ordered a 14" iBook with a 1.42 gigahertz proccessor, 60 gig, superdrive, so on and so forth.
I will be using this machine as my sole computer and want to use my 17" flat panel dor dual screen funtionality when at home. How does this fair on the iBook?
I am sure I have other questions, but I can't think of them right now, and besides, it will be here in a few days which will answer all my questions I suppose.

in theory you could. But the 17" TFT monitor has a resolution of 1280x1024 pixels, the iBook of 1024x768. So dual use would not work really good but single use of the external monitor with its higher resolution settings is OK and gives you more display information. The only thing is that the symbols on your desktop will be rearranged every time you switch monitors. Using an external 15" TFT monitor with its 1024x768 resolution though allows a 1:1 mirroring on your iBook and the monitor and works perfect.

Expanding GarageBand for Mac (v10.0) content with an in-app purchase
Do you still have your old Mac?
How did you migrate from the old Mac to the new Mac? Did you transfer your old software and documents using Setup Assistant? Then your old GarageBand '11 version should have been migrated, and all your instruments.
if you did not migrate GarageBand '11, copy your old Instruments Library and Loop Library over from the old mac. Copy the following folders to a thumbsdrive and merge the missing dontents into the corresponding folders on your new mac: (from the system library - the top level library folder on your Macintosh HD):
/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/
/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/
And if you would like to continue to use GarageBand '11 for access to missing features, copy also /Applications/GarageBand over, but to a subfolder of Applications. I recommend, to install the old GarageBand as well. It can be used in parallel to GB 10.0, and will come in handy, if your old projects are having problems.

The JamPacks are nice to have, a terrific collection of instruments and loops, but if you did not have them previously, that will not help with your missing instruments. You can instll them by buying Mainstage 3. They work well with GarageBand 10.0

I just bought a mac book pro - When setting up my computer it told me that I there was updates to my operating sytem - to install the updates. I installed them and then restarted my computer - But it still says that I have an update to do - which is the operating sytem one that I just did??? Do I still need to do something else.

sometimes updates have other updates as prerequisites, so one set of updates can lead to another set of updates. Unless it is asking you to apply the same update over and over again, you should probably accept the new set of updates that Software Update is offering. -

Well... yes... it can happen with all computers, but that's certainly not a resolution. Are you working directly with Apple or a different service provider? If something (Word) has not been working since day one... even after repairs, then they haven't fixed it (provided you told them about the problem).
Basically, as others have said... if you've been getting the service you've described directly from Apple, I would give them a call and express your concern. You're in good shape while your warranty is still effective. Get them to fix it to your satisfaction. If something isn't working as it should, don't be afraid to say something. -
I`ve just bought a Mac Book pro 15", did the required updates and since two days ago it freezes. Now I can´t even start the computer. the screen is allways white. how can I solve this issue??
The same thing happened to me... Since two days the ******* thing keeps freezing after a while. Then I try to reboot and the screen goes white and it doesn't boot. If I wait like half an hour it boots again.
I thought it was a hardware problem, but the Apple Hardware Test founds nothing at all. I think it has to do with the software update I performed 2 days ago.

When trying to open file I get msg "You did'nt login or your session has expired. Please log in to read this document for the first time". (Like I said I have read it before). So I log in but that prompts me to give the name of the file I want to export or convert to Word or something else, which is not what I want to do of course. I have not purchased any service from Adobe or Acrobat as I only need to read. Thanks for your help..

I bought two audio books on iTunes but they will not play. My old books play without issue but the new ones do not.
Did you copy your actual iTunes content from your computer before reinstalling iTunes, or did you just copy your iTunes library which only contains the pointers to your songs / books locations ?
You might, depending upon your country and if they are still in your country's store, be able to redownload your music purchases and your ibooks via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage - you will need to delete the entries from your library (where you are getting the 'unable to locate' messages) before they will potentially show with the cloud icon against them in Purchased for redownloading.
Or copy them from your backup of your downloads/library and add them to your iTunes library via File > Add To Library -
i bought a mac book air. when i use sony bluetooth headset on mac os. it works well
but with windows 7, device manager did not know the device.
why?I disabled my microphone in Bootcamp Win7 Ultimate 64B and now it is completly gone. I used the Windows support CD I made and re-installed the 64B Cirrius drivers but the microphone is no where to be found also missing in device manager as well as Control Panel Audio.

A refund may not be possible since the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. You can contact the iTunes Store, explain the reason for your request, and ask, though:

I bought a Mac Book Pro retina display, Serial Number C02J*****2, on 8/11/2012. Unfortunately, I am unable to download updates from the App store.Whenever I tried to download updates, it shows me an error message, "we could not complete your request. there is an error in the App Store. Try again later (100). Your Apple ID has been disabled, contact iTune support". However,the problem still persists even after my password has been successfully reset. What is is the error in the app store? I really need help to resolve this issue.
Moreover,I also need help how to update to the mountain lion free of charge as my Mac pro is four(4) days old.

I just bought a Mac Book Pro and the Appstore show one upgrade of iPhoto (9.2.1). I started a section with my Apple ID (the account that I have I use to iTunes) but when I try to update it says that there are upgrades available for other accounts and that I have to upgrade using the account that I used to buy iPhoto.
