I did not set a rescue email, and now forgot my security question answers

Ive recently added my girlfriends ipad to my apple id and couldnt remember my security questions. ive ran circles and know how to reset them but to do so i need a "rescue email" which i did not set up when i made the account like 3 years ago. I cant find any info but to "contact support' to set up but ive emailed them twice and no answer. I feel it would be easier to just make a new account but cant because this is the main email i use everyday and dont wanna lose the money in the account

this does not help. I have forgotten ALL of the answers to my security questions. I can NOT reset the answers to my security questions without answering two of the three security questions. The other way to reset the answers to these questions is for apple to send me an email on my rescue email addres which I DO NOT HAVE.

  • I don't have a rescue email and I forgot my security question + answers.

I recently just bought a mac and I tried to download pages for school but it required me to put in my answers to the security questions to which I don't remember. I clicked "Forgot your answers" and I didn't get anything in my email. It turns out that I don't have a "rescue" email and I don't know what to do. I have a $100 on the account and I can't even use it.

The Three Best Alternatives for Security Questions and Rescue Mail
         1.  Send Apple an email request at: Apple - Support - iTunes Store - Contact Us.
         2.  Call Apple Support in your country: Customer Service: Contact Apple support.
         3.  Rescue email address and how to reset Apple ID security questions.
A substitute for using the security questions is to use 2-step verification:

  • HT5699 I don't have access to my rescue email and I forgot my security questions. I'm in Egypt now, apple support over the phone is not available here.

I've lost my rescue email and I forgot my security questions. I am located in Egypt now so there's no phone technical support here. I cannot activate the imessage or facetime and cannot download anything from the appstore. I need to reset my appleid password.

If you can't remember the answers to the security questions, then go to Express Lane  and select 'iTunes' from the list of 'products' in the middle of the screen.
Then select 'iTunes Store', and on the next screen select 'Account Management'
Next choose 'iTunes Store Account Security' and fill in that you'd like your security questions/answers reset.
You should get an email reply within about 24 hours (and check your Spam folder as well as your Inbox).

How to reset your Apple ID security questions.
Go to appleid.apple.com, click on the blue button that says 'Manage Your Apple ID'.
Log in with your Apple ID and password. (If you have forgotten your Apple ID password, go to iforgot.apple.com first to reset your password with a password recovery email)
Go to the Password & Security section on the left side, and click on the link underneath the security questions that says 'Forgot your answers? Send reset security info email to [email]'.  This will generate an automated e-mail that will allow you to reset your security questions.
If that doesn't work, or  there is no rescue email link available, then click on 'Temporary Support PIN' that is in the bottom left side, and generate a 4-digit PIN for the Apple Account Security Advisor you will be contacting later.
    Next, go to https://getsupport.apple.com
(If you see a message that says 'There are no products registered to this Apple ID, simply click on 'See all products and services')
Choose 'More Products & Services', then 'Apple ID'.
    A new page will open.
Choose 'Other Apple ID Topics', then 'Forgotten Apple ID Security Questions'.
    Click the blue 'Continue' button.
Select the contact option that suits your needs best.

You must of set a password on the computer when you kfirst turned it on. Otherwise you wouldn't be using it.
What I think you are talking about is a user name and password for an Apple ID.
Apple IDs use a email address and a password you create for that email address on Apples website.
There should be a link on whatever page you are on to Create an Apple ID. Click that link.
Or just open App Store from the link on you Dock then Find the link to create an Apple ID.
Absolutely not.  You can create a blank password.  Yes it's stupid.  Yes it's unsafe.  But from helping people with their Macs, I find most do not set up a password.  <facepalm>

  • I forgot my security question answers and my rescue email address has been deactivated.

As I said in the title, I forgot my security question answers and my rescue email address has been deactivated. Conveniently, you must enter your security questions to change your rescue email. The answers to the security questions are sent to the rescue email, so I am stuck. My only option seems to be to call Apple Support, which is my entire Friday off spent on an aggravating phone call. If anyone can give my an alternative route for fixing my problem, I am all ears.
