If you are talking about the screen-lock passcode, thate means that the restore never successfully completed.
Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall.
- Next try the manual install method of:
iDevice Troubleshooting 101 :: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
Place the iPod in recovery mode after the firmware download is complete and then restore using the instructions in the article. Sometimes recovery mode timeouts and returns to disabled before the firmware download is complete.
- Then try on another computer

The Apple ID and Password that was Originally used to Activate the iDevice is required
If you do not have that information you will not be able to use the Device.

Placing your device into recovery (DFU) mode:

Check USB connections
If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.

Do other devices connect to the same wifi router?
Have you tried powering off and then back on the router?
Did you connect before OK?
Have you reset the iPod?

What do you mean it won't save date? What exactly are you pressing and what happens or doesn't happen?
Try this:
Open the Calendar App and Tap Calendar at the bottom of the screen. Make sure all calendars have checkmarks, then Tap Done. Do your events show up now?

Excuse me. I am on a contract with O2 with an iphone 4s, suddenly xmas day it said "no service", took it to o2 who sent it to apple factory who refused to repair it because a screw missing. I wouldnt know have never opened phone in my life,wouldnt know how to, then went direct to Apple Regent St London who also said "screw missing, warrenty void, then produced a phone just out of contract due to upgrade,a vodaphone carrier 3gs, it was unlocked but then told by apple the owner had to go to vodaphone and get it unlocked on their books which could take up to 48 hours, it is now 72 hours later and i have the same error despite backing up old phone with i tunes and i cloud,am very angry and am paying alot for a contract every month, all i can see is "no service and waiting for activation" and all ths started when I upgraded to IOS 6.Am extremely upset and still under warranty but no one seems to want to help me to connect to WiFI, i cannot keep going to Apple Regent Street at lunchtime and be shooed of with excuses, this replacement phone 3gs should work and it doesnt. When Zeen's battery level goes below 5 %; it tends to Reset to Default where it looses all the connections and sync to the printer or router.
So its very important to make sure that Zeen's battery does not go to low. To avoid this I would suggest to charge Zeen regularly.
You may try the steps below as of now and check the results.
We need to Factory Reset the Zeen making sure it is connected (Docked) on the C510a printer.
Once it is docked try the steps below:-

The thread title differs from the original post, sorry for the confusion. I read password instead of passcode.
The only way past a passcode lock is by entering the passcode. Refer to HT1212 iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen:
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
As for timing out during the restore...
If there isn't any antivirus or firewalls in the way, I would try restoring from a different user account or even a different computer. If still unable to restore without timing out, I would try a different network.
