I didn't get set up discs with my macbook pro when it came from the US - how do I create them on my Mac Mini?

I uninstalled Intego anti-virus software and it has interfered with some of the essential parts of the operating system - (advice from support team) and I cannot access the internet at all - it appears to be all ok on the networking assistant - all green lights but web pages don't open and mail is not sent or received.
Can I make an operating system disc from my Mac Mini to use in the MacBook Pro?

The first MacBook Pro's were not released until the beginning of 2006, and they had USB 2 ports.
Anything available new in 2005 would have been a PowerBook G4 and they also had USB 2 ports.
A USB 3 disk will just transfer data slower then it could do, if you plug it into a USB 2 port though, so you can buy either.

iTunes is a mess! It couldn't find it's own libraries and I was forced to create a new one. Now I don't know where my music is or if any's missing.

Hi, I had a similar issue with an HPC4480, I unplugged both the power & connecting cable from the printer,

Can't get iPad2 to sync with my MacBook Pro.

Have always been able to in the past. In my utilities on my iPad2, it says it was last synced with my MacBook on 3/16. I am on wi fi and plugged in but the Sync Now button on my iPad is grey and it says it will sync when my MacBook is available.

Probably because on the Mac you set it to something other than IMAP. Check your advanced account settings on both your iOS devices and see what they're set for. By default (if you pick Hotmail on the wizard) I think iOS sets them up as IMAP.
I believe also no Hotmail may allow you to do Exchange ActiveSync as well, but not 100% sure. I know that protocol was added to Gmail last year or the year before. ActiveSync would also keep your mailbox in perfect sync as well.

It is always installed with whatever new version of OS X is installed or appropriate updates. Since you plan to go forward your choice depends on your model. I would urge you to perform a clean install instead of continuing the upgrade path which may interject incompatibilities.

You can upgrade to Yosemite from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Yosemite can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.

To upgrade to Yosemite you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Yosemite from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Yosemite is free. Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Yosemite, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.

Before attempting a clean install you want to first download the appropriate installer application from the App Store. It will download into your Applications folder. You need to make a copy of it in your Downloads folder so you can make a bootable USB flash drive:

After downloading the installer you must first save the Install Mac OS X application. After the installer downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing.
   2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your flash drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the leftside list. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list.
Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to an hour depending upon the flash drive size.
Use DiskMaker X to put your installer clone onto the USB flash drive.

How can I install Mountain Lion in a VMware fusion, if it came with my macbook pro, and not purchased through the app store?

I have Mountain Lion on my Macbook Pro with Retina but I want to install Mountain Lion in a VM for application testing. I try to install it from the recovery partition but it states that when I put in my apple ID, it states that it was not purchased through the App Store. My OS came with my Macbook. Is there anything that I can do to get it to install in a VM?

I hace a Macbook Pro running Mountain Lion OS.... I need to print from time to time but don't have a new printer to go with my new macbook. Would a 3115CN work with it or no? If so, how can I set it up? Setting up a printer on a mac is a bit different from doing so on a windows machine and I am new to the macworld.

Yes. I'm running this printer from 10.6 through 10.9 and it's worked fine with all versions. Dell released updated drivers a while ago that make it much easier to administer this printer.

Problems with new MacBook Pro when using Front Row

I posted this in the MacBook Pro forum, but someone suggested I post it here, so here goes...
I just picked up a new 15" MacBook Pro 2.4 last night. I was very excited, as I've wanted one for a while now, but when I tried to watch a dvd in Front Row a few strange things happened that I've never seen anyone post about on this board.
First, when I selected play from the DVD's menu, Front Row quit. I launched it again and everything seemed fine as the dvd was now playing, but then I noticed that the backlit keyboard would light up and turn off every minute or two. This went on for the whole time I was watching the disc... about a couple of hours... the keys would light up then they'd be unlit and then light up again.
Finally, while I was watching the dvd the screen went blank... there was still audio, but no picture to go along with it. After I touched the trackpad the video came back. This happened a couple of times.
I don't think it should matter, but I'll also mention that I was using the MacBook Pro on battery while all this happened.
So, has anyone else experienced these issues? I tried looking through all the posted topics, but couldn't find anything related to my experience with Front Row. I'm debating on whether I should exchange my MacBook Pro as I may just have a lemon.
If anyone has any advice/tips I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

I would be curious to know if the same kinds of things happen when you are using the AC power? It's possible that the ambient light was just at the point where the keyboard backlight would turn on and different parts of the movie would make it just light or just dark enough to turn the backlight on or off...

My Macbook (13" White) that I have had for three years recently had its screen die, and so I purchased a new macbook pro, since I cannot use the screen, how do I go about getting my information off of it such as my iTunes, iPhoto and other documents?

The screen would fade into these weird pastel stripes, and if I pinched the sides a bit it would return to normal, but a few weeks ago it stopped returning to normal. I would like to get my iTunes and iPhoto contents and my documents of various sorts off of it and onto my new macbook pro. A friend of mine removed the hard drive and got the information like it was an external hard drive. Can I do this? I don't know if I can use my migration assistant application because the screen of my macbook won't let me see anything to even log into my username on the computer... Help?

Plug in a foirewire cable, most likely need a 6pin (400) to 9 pin(800).
on the older machine, boot it up, and hold down the t key
HDD should show up on the new computer.
If you havent booted up the new machine, you could run migration assistant whith the above steps to pull the data off.
