I didn't receive my free update of the software

I bought my computer in Panama, because that's where I am.  When I bought it they told me I was elegible to update to Lion for free because of the date I buy the notebook (july 12).  I made all the steps they told me online, and I only receive a reference number.  They also told me that in 24 hours I should be receiving my appworld code, so I can update for free.  It's been almost 50 hours and nothing happen.  I want to know what the **** is happening

Unfortunately there is no one here that can give you an answer; we are just users like yourself.
But based on past experience it has been known for free upgrades to be offered ... but not before the new OS is formally announced.   There have been several references of late to the imminent launch of Mavericks.  I think you can do no more than wait for the announcement.

  • I didn't receive my purchases from within the application!

May be purchased from within one application yesterday but I did not receive my purchases.

If you didn't receive what you purchased in the application, you will need to contact iTunes store support.

I have updated from Snow Leopard to Lion with Safari Version 5.0.5. Now I can not update to Safari 5.1. There is no update in the Software Updater, and on the apple-download page, I only found a Safari 5.1 for Snow Leopard. When executing it, there is an error message, that it is for 10.6 only.
It seems that I should have first updated Safari, and then only to Lion, which I didn't. Any idea how I can fix this now without having to rollback to Snow Leopard, update Safari and then go back to Lion?

Try this Safari5.1 from the installer package

The download worked better with Firefox not sure why. At the bottom of the page after the captcha>> slow down load is the Free link,  it took about 4 minutes to download on my test.

  • How do i uninstall a purchased app (that no longer appears in the purchased app list in the store) so that i can repurchase and have the app appear as "purchased" so that i can get updates as the software is updated periodically?

I am looking for some help with the app store.  I recently purchased an app (aperture) in the app store and subsequently apple refunded the purchase price.  However, the downside of this is that aperture no longer appears as a "purchased" app within my app store account.  Accordingly, i don't believe i will get updates as the software is updated periodically.  Apple has instructed me to delete all my aperture files, reboot and then revisit the app store to re-download and it should let me pay for the app and redownload just as if i had never had the app before.  However, when i go to purchase aperture, i get a warning that it has already been purchased and that i can re-download for free.  That sounds great but again it won't appear in the "purchased" list in the app store b/c of the original refund from apple.  I never thought i would have this much trouble trying to pay someone for a product!
    Questions:
Is the app store looking to my hard drive for traces of aperture to determine whether it has been purchased or is it looking at some kind of purchase history within the app store?
Is there anyway to wipe my hard drive clean of aperture files or wipe clean my app store purchase history so that i can start over?
If none of this is possible, does anyone have a possible solution?
If i were to redownload aperture (currently for free since it won't let me pay) when a subsequent update comes out (say it goes from version 3.2.2 to 3.2.3) can i then elect to buy aperture, pay the fee and will it appear as a purchased app and allow me to get upgrades going forward?  Would any data be compromised with this?
    Many thanks for your help!

    1. Do you have a backup connected to your Mac that contains the app? If so, yes the MAS can detect that and believes that the app is installed.
    2. If the app no longer appears in the purchase history on the Purchased pane in the MAS, then it would seem that Apple has taken care of that.
    4. Updates, such as you describe are free. Upgrades are not. An upgrade is a new paid version of the app, such as v 3.0 to v 4.0.

  • Can not update iTunes because I have iMac with 10.5.8 . How I will sync my iphone 6.0 with an older version of iTunes on my iMac???? There is no update for the software of my iMac and no update for the iTunes.... So how can I sync????

Can not update iTunes because I have iMac with 10.5.8 . How I will sync my iphone 6.0 with an older version of iTunes on my iMac???? There is no update for the software of my iMac and no update for the iTunes.... So how can I sync????

    Requirements for iPhone 5:
Syncing with iTunes on a Mac or PC requires:
Mac: OS X v10.6.8 or later
PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
    iTunes 10.7 or later
The highest version of iTunes you can install is 10.6.3 which will not sync with the iPhone 5.

It's always a good idea to check the requirements before purchasing.
The person I spoke with at 1-800-MY-APPLE gave me totally different info...she said the iPhone 5 would in fact sync with the older version of iTunes and that I could restore from my previous iPhone 4 backup and also bring in my music that way.  Hmmm....
I'm inclined to go by the published specs, but now I have to jump thru a bunch of hoops I wasn't expecting to.

    Hi,
Try placing your iPod in Recovery Mode and restoring it via iTunes:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808.

Hello, I am running a Mac book pro soft. 10.5.8 version. Since June the current year I did not get any updates for the software or any kinds of the other application, in my opinion that's weird for such a company.
The problem that I have now is with the Iphone 5 which is not supported for the current Itunes and I can not download the Itunes 10.7 version. What I supposed to do in this case because I can not syncronize at all.
Please give me a hand as soon as possible.
    Many thanks

Mac OS X 10.5.8 is years old, 3 major versions out-of-date and unsupported at this point. You will never get any further updates for 10.5.8, and more and more applications will stop supporting 10.5.8 as time goes on. As mende1 points out, you can buy Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6), which will let you use your new iPhone with your computer, but you need to make sure your computer's hardware is supported. See the system requirements for Snow Leopard:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
If your computer cannot run Snow Leopard, you will need to either buy a new computer or abandon any thoughts of syncing the iPhone with that computer.
Also, note that you'll get far better integration of your iPhone and your Mac if you're using Lion (Mac OS X 10.7) or Mountain Lion (Mac OS X 10.8), which are required to use iCloud. Of course, the requirements of those systems are even steeper than those of Snow Leopard:

Tried to install iOS 7 and it said I needed to connect my phone to iTunes, so I did and then it said my phone wasn't updated to the software now my phone isn't working! all it's doing is showing a iTunes logo with a charger thing under it and won't let me cancel or anything

After connecting your iPhone to the computer did you restore using the iTunes on your computer?

  • Security Updates OS Updates and the Software Updater

    Hi,
I'm a little confused regarding security updates and OS updates. Up until recently I've always used the Software Update tool to download and install any updates from Apple. However, I've had serious problems with 10.5.2 and random freezes. I've reinstalled OS X and applied the 10.5.1 update as download from the Apple website. I've noticed that there are also security updates available separately for example 2007-009 and 2008-001. I've applied all the other updates from the Software Updater but these don't show up, in fact I can only see the 10.5.2 update. I correct in assuming these need to be downloaded and applied separately. Is it safe to do this after the other updates have been applied from the Software Updater or should I have done it straight after the 10.5.1 update?
    Best Regards, Simon

I'm not sure I understand your question, but the Security Updates are cumulative... in that if you just apply the last one, you'll have all the benefits of the earlier updates as well.
Generally speaking Software Update will keep you well informed of what you should download and install. If it's not listed in Software Update, I wouldn't worry about it.
