    1. Should be possible to do that; go to the Utilities menu and select 'reset password' before starting the installer. (while booted from the DVD of course)
    2. Standard installation of SL only replaces system components; applications, user data and preference settings should not be affected.
    3. But you do have a backup just in case, don't you?

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • M40: Password at boot - would like to deactivate it [Solved]

    Hello.
    I have a notebook M40.
I have put by mistake a password. It's when the computer starts, not the one in the bios but just after the Toshiba Logo.
I would like to deactivate it. I can't find where in the bios setup.
I think it's the line where it's written "Password". Below, it's written "Registered". I tried to change the value with space bar or backspace but it didn't changed.
I know the password but I would like to deactivate it.
Can someone tell me how to do please.
    Thank you.
    [Edit]
    Found it.
In the bios setup, I just had to enter the password in the field and "registered" came back to "Not registered" again.

I can not remember my icloud password.  I would like to recover it but the difficulty is my apple id and icloud have different passwords and the links for recovery all work only to change my apple id password.  SO how do I recover the icloud password?

An Apple ID is used for everything (including this site) and including iCloud. See the quote below from https://appleid.apple.com/
There is no such thing as an iCloud password but it is possible that you have 2 Apple IDs and you are using one of them for iCloud.
An Apple ID is your user name for everything you do with Apple: Shop the iTunes Store, enable iCloud on all your devices, buy from the Apple Online Store, make a reservation at an Apple Retail Store, access the Apple Support website, and more.

You can try this: If you can't update or restore your iOS device
If he had not turned on Find My iPad then it will work, if he had you will run into Activation Lock. If you do run into it you can take a copy of the will (or probate finding if he died without one) and/or a Letter Testamentary and ask if they can look up where he purchased it. If they can, and you have the other documents, they can reset it for you.

  • I don't need Master Password. I would like for Thunderbird to remember my password like it was set to do instead of requiring me to enter it to download mail.

Thunderbird remembered my password for several years before starting to request a password and giving the option to establish an Master Password. I may have caused the problem. If so, I don't know what to do to change it back. Thanks, Pat

What anti virus are you using? Does it have a password "vault" like Nortons? which regularly fails to get the message you have a new password and silently replaces the one Thunderbird sends (which you have just saved) with their old stale and incorrect one.
Best approach is reboot into Windows safe mode with Networking and see if that works.

I had no longer used my old apple ID and i don't remeber the password and can't even reset the password becasese i had cancle my old internet provider . How can I transfer my previos purchases app to my new apple ID ?

    Hi...
You can't. Purchases cannot be transferred from one Apple iD to another.
You will have to repurchase the apps using your new Apple ID.

  • Somehow firefox now opens with my windows mail. Each time I enter my password it asks if I want to save it so I don't have to retype my login and password each time. I hit yes and when I leave firefox it doesn't keep my password. I would like to either

I recently went to open my windows live mail, which normally opens because it has my login and password saved. Now it opens in firefox and I have to retype my login and password everytime I open my mail. I would like when I open my mail not to have to retype my login and password as this is why I have it set up in the original windows mail anyway. So I have attempted to live with this problem by adjusting the options to save my password and when I close out of firefox and try to reopen it later in the day I have to retype my login and password again.

  • I want a "request for service" form I would like the form user to be able to indicate which Prior order the request relates

Our E-commerce site sells furniture and as such we will have customer service claims or reports filed, all sales are made through a secure zone as are any service requests.. I would like the customer to be able to choose which of their past orders the claim relates to and which product code from the existing product listing it relates to.. any ideas on how I can go about this??
    Many thanks Sara

I have now recently downloaded 10.0.2 which is confusing in itself, as, as far as I can ascertain that is actually version 11, but I'm not even sure about that.
Version 10.0.2 is the newest version and the successor to GarageBand '11 (version 6.0.5).
The '11 is referring to the iLife '11 suit of multimedia application - the older GarageBand was a part of this bundle.
Have a look at Edgar's graphical enhanced manuals, the explain very detailed how things work and why. You can buy them as iBooks from the iBook store or directly from the page:

  • I know the password is correct, as other devices and this site have accepted the password.  I would like help in uninstalling a few of the devices where the program is no longer needed.

I would like to use Adobe Digital Editions on a new Nook Tablet.  I believe I have gone over the limit of devices and this may be why my password is being rejected on the new device.  I would like to uninstall the program from devices where it is no longer needed.
Obviously my password is correct, as I am logged on here.

On the wireless networks that your Mac has had trouble connecting to, do you know which Wireless Security type (WEP, WPA, or WPA2) is being used?
If it is WEP, one of the problems is that the actual standard relies on a 10 character HEX key for 40bit WEP and a 26 character HEX key for 128bit WEP.   In order to make things easier, vendors use certain algorithms to convert simple alphanumeric passwords (or passphrases) into HEX keys, thus enabling the use of simple easy to remember WEP password rather than lengthy HEX keys. The problem is that different vendors use different algorithms to generate the HEX key and therefore a ASCII password on an AEBS will be hashed differently on a non-Apple client and vice versa.   You may find the following Apple Support article helpful.

I do not think you can find out on what device the purchases was made.
I would change the password for your account.

  • I lost my ipod touch- if someone deletes and resets it will I still be able to use that tracker app?

    I lost my ipod yesterday
and my friend told me that if they go to settings and delete and reset my ipod that i wont be able to find it- is that true?
and if it is how does the report your lost device thing work? like if someone opens a new account on your ipod does Apple send something to them or what? Do they send the police? I'm just curious. Thanks

    No.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
