I didn't want iOS 6.1!

My iPhone 4S stopped connecting to wifi about 3 weeks ago. I set up an appointment at an Apple Store. In trying to find out what the problem was, the Apple tech offered to check the firmware for the antenna. No luck on the wifi. So, I headed back to the office to run a restore and get back to work.
Wait a minute! After restoring, I realize my phone has 6.1 on it. There's a difference between "checking firmware" and "installing a softare update" - or so I thought.
Now that my phone has 6.1, I can no longer get any of my corporate email. IT only supports up to 6.0.1 at the moment.
And as an added bonus, my battery is now draining like crazy! I do not need this and I certainly wasn't asked about installing 6.1 on my phone!
No wifi, no email, gimpy battery. Now what do I do?

I have a 4S and i was on 5.1.1 up until 48 hours ago and the battery life is definitely better than when i was running 5.1.1. I charge my phone every two days now instead of daily!
My 4S is a year old now, WiFi also works just fine. As others have said there is no way to downgrade sadly so your stuck with 6.1, even if they replaced your phone your going to get 6.x on that too.
Try doing a full restore and setting it up as new, i know this is not ideal but it's the best way to try and resolve your issues. I would also go back and have a few words with the idiot who upgraded your firmware without your consent! He should have informed you that you were running an older version and that a software update was available and that it may resolve your issues and request permission to proceed to update the device.

There is a similar setting for Videos on that Settings screen, so if you leave that 'on' you may have similar happening in the Videos app

The song can be deleted by swiping the song, then tapping 'Delete.'

I bought a Air Port Express device from Apple yesterday. We decided to set the Air port device in a room near the router to use as a wifi extender to areas of the house where the signal is weak. In our discussion with Josh, the Apple Rep. he explained how it can either be connector to the router or use in another room relying on the existing wifi signal to extend it further into the house. We have verizon DSL. Our town is very small...no cable provided so we are lucky to have what we have...some areas of our town can't even get what we have. We, didn't want to connect it directly to the Verizon device (router)....we followed the directions from Josh as well as the explicit directions provided by Apple support...it didn't work. We keep getting an error message. Does anyone have any advice ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please speak in "Laymen's terms" I am not technically savy....but..am determined to get this set up. Thanks to anyone, in advance!

Unfortunately, it appears that Josh was not aware that the AirPort Express can only "extend" a wireless signal from another Apple router.
From Apple's literature:
Extend an existing Wi-Fi network’s range.
If you already have a wireless network in your home and want to extend its range, AirPort Express can help. Just place it in range of your primary base station — an AirPort Extreme, Time Capsule, or another AirPort Express — and near the area where you want your wireless connection. Launch the easy-to-use AirPort Utility app on your iOS device or Mac, and you’re mere minutes away from long-range Wi-Fi enjoyment.
The AirPort Express is not compatible with a Verizon product for this purpose.
Your might want to have another conversation with Josh to ask his advice on how best to proceed at this point.
If you do decide to keep the AirPort Express, it will be necessary to connect it to your Verizon router using a wired Ethernet cable connection if you want the Express to provide more wireless signal coverage.

I have just bought an ipad2 and was told that I could transfer all my saved photos from an old computer that I didn't want to synch with and then delete the ones I didn't want later. I can't do this without synching. How do I do this?

I bought an ipod2 yesterday and all the photos were from an old computer (that I don't want to synch with) were transferred in the store without synching with it. I was told I could delete any I didn't want later but now find I can't delete any without synching through itunes which I don't want to do as I want to synch with a different computer. Is there a way I can just delete them all before I go and buy any apps etc or just restore to the shop settings and start again with a more selective upload as I now have over 8000 photos clogging up the memory when I only need about 1000.

Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view.
Photos that were synced from a computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from and then re-syncing. If you want to remove them all then normally you could just sync an empty folder (in terms of photos) to the iPad, but as you don't want to sync at the moment you can't do that.
You can reset the iPad back to factory settings and start from scratch with it : Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings

Your problem is that she used your icloud ID to connect to icloud and thus had all your data synced to her device. Contacts are not saved in a backup to icloud, since they are stored independently in the Contacts section of icloud. If someone deletes them, they are gone. If you had them on the PC would they be available in some backup you frequently make of the PC?

You have to enter your password whenever you purchase something. Sort of an added "are you sure?" feature built in. In your case, I am guessing you had purchased something immediately previous to purchasing the album in question? Which means that your password was already entered? Try contacting Apple concerning the issue, I am sure they will help you.

The person who sold you the device can remove the ID without giving it to you. Follow the steos in "What to do if you no longer have the device." In the artcle below. If you can't find the person or they won't do it you're stuck with a unusable device.

According to the requirements it appears you may be able to run it if you don't have the 8GB version.
The 8GB version was actually a snazzed up second gen with newer iOS software.
If it doesn't see it, the hardware probably doesn't support it.
First make sure you've updated iTunes, then check it again, and if it doesn't show, it probably won't run on it due to the hardware being too slow to handle it.
