Apologies if I seem rude but isn't it obvious?
you have already purchased this item means you have already purchased this item - you don't need to buy it, you've already bought it.
To download it check available downloads in the store menu means to download it check available downloads in the store menu. So if you look at your top menu bar (in your iTunes programme) select the Store and from the menu that appears, select Check for available downloads. My guess (and I realise I'm risking my reputation here ) is that when you click on that, you will see a list of the items you've bought which will include anything you haven't yet downloaded to your iTunes. I assume there will be an option with that list to download those items.
I would like to thank the person who thought of the idea of taking different words and putting them in a certain order, so that those words form a sentence, and that sentence can then be read by other people and those people understand. Genius!

    Hi Dave_warr,
I would suggest restarting the iPad and see if the download resumes.
iTunes: How to resume interrupted iTunes Store downloads
Resuming downloads from an iOS device
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes icon.
For iPhone/iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password.
    Click the "OK" button.
Click the Resume or Resume All button to start the download.
If you don't see the application to download it, then follow these troubleshooting steps:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If the app does not appear in your list of purchases, then contact the iTunes Store for help:
How to report an issue with your iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, or iBookstore purchase
I hope this information helps ....
    Have a great day!

  • HT1725 When I click on a Movie I get the following "You have already purchased this item but it has not been downloaded. To download it, select Check For Available Downloads from the Store menu." Then get err = 11111

iTunes quit unexpectedly during the download of a movie.  When I click on that movie now I get the following message: "You have already purchased this item but it has not been downloaded. To download it, select Check For Available Downloads from the Store menu."
I follow the instructions, but the download still doesn't resume - err = 11111
    Any advice?

Yeah, I am going to blast my iPhone for the 4th time today and pray this goes away. I had 6 apps showing updates, the 6 badge icon shows on the App Store on my iPhone and, having run them all, the 6 apps have two copies each on my iPhone: one that is the old version of the app and will not run and the other is a faded version of the app with an empty progress bar on the icon. Click those and you get an error message about connecting to iTunes, etc. as described in the article I linked to above.
It gets stranger than this. If I install a completely NEW app, the 6 that are stuck mid-update heal themselves and appear with the new version only, however now completely different apps (Hold Em for instance - which I did not update and didn't need an update) will not launch "app name Cannot Launch" message comes up.
    Agh!

  • Apps - Download All Free Updates - You have already purchased this item

I have an iPad and iPhone, and over the past few months I've noticed that iTunes keeps getting confused when trying to download app updates.
So right now if I run iTunes, it shows that there are 16 updates in Apps.  I click on Apps and then click the "16 Updates Available" link at the bottom right.  This opens the "My App Updates" view.  I then click "Download All Free Updates" and get a prompt that says:
You have already purchased this item
You have already purchased this item but it has not been downloaded. To download it, select Check For Available Downloads from the Store menu.
    This is confusing because:
I have no idea which of the 16 app updates it is talking about
I'm not told why it has not been downloaded
Check for available downloads doesn't do anything.
I can get around this problem by manually downloading each update individually, syncing and trying an update again.  But after a few weeks I get more updates and the problem starts all over again.
Any ideas why this is happening?
    Cheers
    Boz

  • You've already purchased this item, but it hasn't been downloaded.

I don't have App sync on (have tried it with App sync on and off), my Mobile Applications directory on my Mac is empty.
When I go to update my apps per the iPhone's App Store program, they download and then I get this message:
+You've already purchased this item, but it hasn't been downloaded. To get it, open iTunes on your computer, select Check for Purchases, then sync your device to your computer.+
I did this, yet the problem remains. Have restored to factory settings and after installing my apps again, the next time one updates I get this error and despite my following the directions above, the error persists. Anyone know of a fix for this little circle?

  • 'You have already purchased this item, would you like to buy it again?' ISSUES

This has happened to my twice now. I have bought songs on itunes, then at some point deleted the song from my itunes library and told it to hide it in the cloud or whatever. I only do this so that the songs that are not in my itunes library do not show as being in my itunes library.
Then, at some point I will decide that I want that song again. So, I go into itunes store and search for it in purchased, and it does not find it. So I then search for it in itunes store again, and it shows it there with the 99p next to it. So, I click on it to buy it, and it shows the message 'You have already purchased this item, would you like to buy it again?'. At first, I clicked no, and was back to square 1, without a song and it still showing the 99p next to it. So I did a search on google and found an article that said as far as I understand to just click buy and it would offer for me to re-download it for free.
    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090803000006AAKNkBB
So, I did that and it charged me for it.
Like I said, it has happened to me twice now, where I remeber buying a song, then hiding it in the cloud, and having to buy the song again. What can I do to stop this?? Is it a bug that I have to buy it again??
    Thanks for your help, Danny

If iCloud is available for your country, you should. Here is the article that has the steps on how you can do this:

  • "You have already purchased this item. Would you like to buy it again?"

I bought an album from iTunes on my PC. I went on the iTunes store on my iPod Touch to download the same album, but it said "You have already purchased this item, would you like to buy it again?" My question is will I get charged again if I hit buy? If so, then why would I get charged? I already bought the album. On my iPhone 4s and iPad2, the album automatically downloaded due to that one feature (I forgot the name). So why can't I do the same on my iPod Touch?

"My question is will I get charged again if I hit buy?"
Of course you will.  Why would you do this?
" If so, then why would I get charged? "
Because you are buying it again.
"So why can't I do the same on my iPod Touch?"
You can, just not by buying it again.

  • I have purchased a game from itunes store online. However, whenever I open the app, it just show me "unable to purchase this item".

    Dear Sir / Madam,
I have purchased an app from Itunes couple of days ago.  My ID is [email protected] and the game name is called Stand O'Food.
I have no idea after I have downloaded the game, whenever I go and open that app, it will show "Unable to purchase this item".
    Please advise.
The payment have already charged to my bank account but I couldn't use this application.
I look forward to hear from you shortly.
    Have a great day ahead.
    Sincerely,
    Agnes Kwa

I had the same problem. My wife had the PocketBible on her Ipad 2 and she transferred ownership to me. I had to delete the app and reinstall it from the App store(logged in with my apple ID) and its working without a problem. I do not get those error messages when I attempt to Buy/Upgrade or Add/Remove books.

I have purchase this from Dubai, UAE, some 2 years back.
I am NOT able to switch it on; when connected to power supply, the battery icon comes in but no signs of charging.
After some times the ‘Apple’ icon comes in. Tried simultaneous operation of Sleep and Power buttons, but of no use.
Sometimes a picture of cable and ITunes comes in; but not able to connect to
P C as there is no battery charge.

Sorry for this question. Can you use this device with Vlc or QuickTime? Does skype support it? Is this device supported only by its own software?
I need a device that can work with my own software. My software can work only with a QuickTime supported device.
Thanks if you will reply to me.

  • "You did not purchase this item. You can not redownload..."

    Has anyone experienced this problem?
I purchased Breaking Bad, Season 5 (season pass) in HD, through my Apple TV.  I've received an email receipt from Apple for the purchase, and it's shown up on my credit card recent activity.  When I go to play any episode, I get the following message:
"You did not buy this item. You can not redownload [Episode Name]"
I most certainly did.  So far, the Apple support has been the typical glazed-eyes, "make sure you're plugged in to the world wide web", "unplug, and plug in after exactly 60 seconds (so all the electrons drain out the back)", not really reading the specific case and symptoms I'm experiencing.
I've been able to "purchase" a free episode of a TV show and, despite a shockingly slow download, it was viewable, and the whole transaction was done directly through the Apple TV.
I was also able to download episodes from iTunes to my computer and watch them that way, but I really don't want the movies on my computer.
If there was a problem with an HDCP handshake between the AppleTV and the television, would an error message like this display?
Thanks in advance if you can help.

i am having the same problem in the last 2 days. does anyone have an answer??? very frustrating, as i have given a lot of money to apple to have the ability to download these shows when they are available.

  • You have (not) already purchased this item.

iTunes frequently tells me that I've already purchased an app and so it will be downloaded free of charge. But this always happens for apps that I haven't purchased before. So I'm downloading this new app and iTunes says "you've already purchased this." Erm... no, I haven't. And it comes up a lot of the time for free apps too. If it's a free app, I would be downloading it free of charge anyway. Does this happen to anyone else?

Try going into store then entring apple ID along the bottom...there's a tap for hidden downloads, slide finger across to unhidden then it should come bak into your library.  Hope it works it did for me .
