I do have a Deskjet 5740 with all lights fast blinking. Unplug and plugin again does not help. That's already it. I would like to know if anybody can tell me if the means the machine is completely broken. Or if this is a seldom failure situation that can be solved somehow. Please don't overlook that it's f a s t blinking.

The weird thing is, it worked before. I encoded all the videos previously and had them all listed and didn't encounter this problem, but I noticed I'd forgotten to decomb/detelecine the videos so I deleted everything and re-encoded it all. AFter filling the tags out and setting poster frames again I was thinking of making life easier by just pasting the same artwork for every episode, so I did, but didn't like the results so I deleted it again (I selected every video, used Get Info and pasted the artwork that way).
I think it was after this that the problem started to occur. In any case I've been through every episode and made sure the name, series, episode and episode id fields are all filled in with incremental values and they are. I even made sure the Sort Name field was filled in on every video. But this didn't work either.
So, thinking another restart was needed I deleted every video again. Re-encoded them all, again. Set the tags for every video and poster frame again. Finished it all off nicely, checked cover flow and was highly annoyed to find it was STILL showing the same two pieces of art work for every video as shown in that image I posted.
Ultimately, I wouldn't care so much that cover flow is screwing up like this as I always intended to sort by program anyway so it would only ever display one piece of artwork for an entire series of videos, however where-as when it was working it picked the artwork for the first episode of a series to display, its instead picking one of the latter episodes. I can't seem to find any way of choosing what artwork I want displayed.

In a group text with two phones that use Imessage and one that does not. The person that does not, does not get my message when its sent in group text. How do i fix this?

I have a group text with two of my friends. here's each person break down
person 1 ATT network, using imessage
person 2 verzion network, using imessage
person 3 verzion network, using SMS
All three of us are in a group chat. When person 1 sends a message, person 2 recieves it, but person 3 does not. Then when person 3 sends a message, both person 1 and 2 get it. When person 2 sends an Imessage, person 1 and 3 get it
so the problem is when person 1 sends an imessage, it doesnt change to sms and person 3 doesnt get it, but person 2's automatilly switches it to green.
How can person one get their phone to automaticlly switch it to green in group message while keeping on imessage?

The quote below from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5760 indicates that it in the situation you describe it should be going as MMS to everyone -- which is not what you are seeing actually happen (and also not what you want to happen if I understand correctly). There may be something else helpful in the link.
Group messages will be sent using iMessage if all recipients have iMessage enabled. If not, the conversation will be sent as MMS. Group messages use MMS even if the content is text only.

I have students whose toolbars "disappear" and global settings does not help.

As mentioned, I have 2 students that have somehow deleted their toolbars. I've been given 2 solutins so far and neither one has helped.
I have went into "customize user interface," but it won't let me bring them back. It is only on that student's login and on that particular computer.
If they use another computer, or another student uses that computer, the toolbars come up. The FAQ didn't help me because; there is no folder titled "electronics workbench"; There is a folder titled National instruments, but there is no folder under it titled "ewb9"; and the only "ewcfg" files I could find were default files, no "ewcfg" files with anyone's user name could be found. I tried going into the global restrictions using the password given, and none of the disable boxes are checked. I should also calirify that the toolbars do show up, but they are only a small grey square. You can mov ethem, but you can't "open" them.

I have Version 10 and I am not sure this is the same for Version 9, but here is what I know. In version 10 the config giles are contained in the Documents and Setting folder on the main drive. For example mine is located here: C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\National Instruments\Circuit Design Suite\10.1\config.
You might try to look and see if you have something simular on your machine. Once you do find these config files. Just delete them and re-launch Multisim/Ultiboard and the program will rebuild them and restore them back to the original default settings. This should also restore the toolbars. At least this is what I have read in the forums in the past. I have not had any toolbars disappear, so I have not tried this personally. It will do no harm to your install, but may not help with the problem. The only thing to do is give it a try and cross your fingers.
I hope this helps as I do not have Version 9 and this is about all I can tell you.

That means your iMac could not find a system to use for startup. That may mean the internal hard drive has become faulty, or the hard drive mechanism is fine, but the startup volume ("Macintosh HD" unless you renamed it) may have some type of data corruption that makes it unbootable.
First, you should try resetting PRAM

and if that does not help, use this procedure to reset SMC (power management). If your iMac is from 2008, this is the procedure for Intel (not PowerPC) Macs.

Disconnect all peripheral devices. When you connect it back to power, if you have been using a power strip of some type, try connecting it directly to a wall outlet, by itself (at least initially). Start up with nothing but the power cord connected, then add only standard mouse and keyboard. If it works, run it that way for a while.
If PRAM and SMC reset have no effect, you should insert your Mac OS X installation disc (for the currently installed system) in the optical drive, and restart with the C key held down. This should get you to the Installer screen, where you can run Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
In Disk Utility, does the internal hard drive appear in the sidebar? If so, select Macintosh HD in the sidebar and go to the First Aid tab. Use Repair Disk. If an error is found, note if Disk Utility was able to fix it or not.
You can then quit Disk Utility and attempt to restart normally.

My MacPro 1,1 will only boot if I resert PRAM each time, and then that does not work each time. When it does boot all is fine. Any idea before I head off to genius bar.

To boot my MacPro now, I have to go thru the reset Pram. Doesn't work each time. I usually don't turn my machine off. Booting in Safe mode does not work...when it doesn't boot I get only a gray screen, no icons in the screen like bad disk etc. I have replaced the battery. My professor son tells me to setup a new drive internally and install a new system and see if the new OS works. I have 3 internal drives with all data on bays 3 and 4... Bay 1 is the system drive with apps only. I'm 70 miles from the closest Apple store and thought I would ask tonight before driving in.

Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes? If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created.

If all you did was sync your phone, and if you haven't synced again since this happened, you can restore your phone from the backup that was created at the beginning of the sync process (camera roll photos are included in the backup). If you have synced again since this happened this backup has already been overwritten and your photos are lost. Also, if you restored your phone from the backup of your iPod, rather than just synced, then your photos are lost too.
If you have an intact backup that contains these photos, do the following:
Without connecting your phone, open iTunes on your computer and go to Preferences. On the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically".
Connect your phone to your computer, right-click on the name of your phone when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar and select Restore from Backup, choose your most recent backup to restore from.
When complete, you can go back to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and re-enable automatic syncing.

type the document.
close notepad.
open LabVIEW.
Open the existing VI with all the indicators.
(are you still following?)
look at the diagram.
Who made the program?
Does the code make sense so far?
Is it a statemachine or just a bunch of crisscrossed wires?
Where do you want to add the file read?
How should the file be read (after pressing a read button, at the start of the program ,etc.)
See how far you get!

Older Macs with a single Harddrive would simply expand OS management on the drive, and I think I understand the new Fusion Drive to do just that, but how do I get this product that I spent a great deal of money on to be more than a pretty screen?

OS X manages ram and when you run out, it create swapfiles to extend your ram on the HDD (Hard Disk Drive). The OS itself, takes about 16 gig of space and that too resides on the HDD. Your 16 gig of RAM is really a temporary space that holds things from the HDD so the processor can work on them. There is no design flaw between your ram and HDD. Something else is going on and there are a lot of smart people here to help you figure out what that "something else" is.
I would do three things. First I would create a backup, backups are important. Second, I would reboot into recovery and repair my HDD. Lastly while still booted in recovery I would repair permissions.
Can you capture a screen shot of the exact error you are getting?
