Why do I not have "Siri" on my iPad 2 after the iOS 8.1.1 upgrade?

Thanks, That 'splains it. I was viewing a how to video of new features in IOS 8 and saw the owner had Siri. Thought it was a software addition.

  • Last night i updated my iPad2 to IOS 7.0 But i could not locate Siri on my ipad? Is siri not available for Ipad2?

Last night i updated my iPad2 to IOS 7.0 But i could not locate Siri on my ipad? Is siri not available for Ipad2?

No, it's only on iPad 3 onwards - possibly because the iPad 2 doesn't have the noise cancellation hardware within it.

  • Why I do not have Siri on my ipad2

Why I do not have Siri on my ipad2

Apple never said Siri would be on the 2. In fact, they've said since the announcement of iOS that it would not be on the 2. It's safe to say that if it's not on there now, it never will be on there.
If Siri is a make it or break it for you, then your choices are to upgrade to a newer model that has the necessary hardware to make the program run right.

  • I have lost my iPad 3 (3G). I do not use iCloud and I do not have the 'Find my iPad' app installed. What can I do to find it? Is there another way to bring up a map of where it is?

I dont know the opperating system but I only got it recently...
I also have a mac book pro also without iCloud.

Without Find My iPad having been enabled on it then there isn't any way to locate it - and that would only work if it's connected to a network and hasn't been wiped or had Find My iPad disabled on it.
If you think that it was stolen then you should report it to the police. You should also contact your carrier and change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.

  • When i set my new 4gs phone up by restoring from backup of my 4g I did not have Siri - why

I purchased a new 4gs and set it up from the backup of my 4g phone. Everything worked, but I did not have Siri. My 4g phone had the most recent IOS. Why did this happen?

You restored from a iPhone 4 which does not have SIRI so the setting was turned off on the new phone.

This is a user to user forum, and Apple does not follow these discussions. But here is what Apple says about not having Flashplayer on iDevices:

  • Why doesn't the all iPads with the ability to update not have Siri?

I'm a huge supporter of apple. Had the iPod, itouch, and the iPad. Both the iPod and the itouch I got near their release date. So, I was kid of mad that the newer ones had better features for the same price. Then I get the iPad 2nd generation. I thought because I waited I would get all the features of the newer ones with the update feature; but no. I feel limited once again. I persuaded my friends into buying the iPad airs because they liked my iPad so much better than their tablets. I even taught them how to use them only to find out that theirs are better. They have Siri. I could care less about the second processor, air drop, better mic, retina display, lighter, more durable iPad Air, but I got robbed of a feature that should come with an update.  I'm very disappointed in the company. By the way I'll never buy from apple again unless my old one gets Siri. Samsung had it with their older phones. The galaxy is beating apple in many ways.

Your old one is physically incapable of running Siri. This is akin to a person being upset that their 3 year old DVD player can't play BluRays...i mean the disc fits in the try so it should work right??????
ANd honestly, I've had Siri on my iPod and I think I've played with it twice. It has to be on the internet to be used so unless you have a 3G device she's inaccessible much of the time
You gotta have siri, buy a new device. Your iPad  2 will NEVER be able to handle the software.

  • Do not have passcode to open iPad air

I have been given a new iPad air and done the start up using the fingerprint touch, but now it will not take the print and wants a passcode which I don't believe I ever entered.

There are two different locking mechanisms:  passcode, prevents access to your data,  and activation lock, prevents use of device if stolen.
If the passcode is set & forgotten , you can reload from backup or wipe ( first typed whip ) the device.
iPhone or iPad locked from incorrect passcode.
If you enter the wrong passcode six or more times, you'll see a message that says Ipad is disabled.
See how to restore from backup.  No back up on your computer, click on the triangle before "If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer"

  • Is it true that iPhone 4s for Malaysia will not have "siri"?

Well, iphone 4s is going to hit the Malaysian markets on 16 December, but i have noticed that it doesn't have Siri. Is it True?

    tforj wrote:
Yes, but the feature should be there, if not language... or you are saying that it is ONLY avaiable in these mentioned countries?
We are just your fellow users and would have no definitive answer. However, as I understand it, Siri has been available on phones in countries like Sweden. Keep in mind that Siri's location based services only work in the U.S. right now.

  • I do not have update on my ipad

My ipad2 do not have update  in my settings to receive updates.
    How do I install updats?

Update it from iTunes on a computer as described at the bottom of this article; devices running an iOS version prior to 5.0 can't be updated straight from the device. It will be updated to the newest iOS release supported by the device’s hardware, which is iOS 7.0.4 for devices with at least 512MB of RAM.
The maximum iOS version for the third generation iPod touch and original iPad is 5.1.1.

  • I have the iPod 4 and I have iOS 6, yet I do not have Siri. Howcome?

A few days ago, I saw that iOS 6 was ready to update to my iPod. So, I decided to update my iPod's software. I got so excited because I thought I was going to have Siri, but I don't. (I have the iPod 4.) Why don't I have Siri?

Thanks, doclochte.  That bummed me out also.  I found this in the fine print at the bottom of the Siri ios 6 page (http://www.apple.com/ios/siri/).
