I do not recognize these shares!

I'm concerned about the shares I see in Finder. There is one called "military" and one called "panther". Panther is a server running locally, which I did mount one time via SMB. I do not know what military is, however. On my friend's network, another share was shown in Finder under a different name.
My computer is the only one using a Mac in either network.
Should I be concerned? Is this something similar to auto discovery?

Yes, it is a form of auto-discovery. I think it uses Bonjour. It was possible before, but Leopard Finder brings it to the surface. I am pretty sure that if you brought that MacBook into a library or cafe that has free wireless, you'd suddenly see every share on that network, auto-discovered.
The share you are seeing may or may not know you are there, but you certainly know they are there. because they have file sharing turned on. If you have file sharing on, they may be able to see your Public folder and any other unsecured shares you have created.
If you are running an unsecured wireless network (without a network password), it could be anyone in the neighborhood.

If you have the original movie files, you'd be much better converting those, otherwise try MPEGstreamclip.

The screenshot shows the first raw file is named T1-XMG_3306.CR2 which probably corresponds to a normal raw filename of IMG_3306.CR2. It is not clear where this name came from. I guess it is possible that you’ve entered in a renaming template in LR’s Import panel that replaces the initial I or _ with T1-XM and so the files are renamed.
What I have asked for is not a screenshot of your filenames, but one of the CR2 files, itself, which you can upload to dropbox and post a link to. You should use copy/paste to get the link into a message, rather than typing it in, if at all possible.
This is because it was my understanding that these oddly-named CR2 files don’t work, and I wanted to look more closely at them to see if they were recognizable as some other type of file.
Do you have a raw file named IMG_3306.CR2 that these files correspond to?

We will need more information to be able to assist you.
These message yoy are receiving are probably just a particular type of spam. However it is also possible (unlikely) that your email account is being used to send spam, and that these are the bounce messages.
To tell the difference, you need to look at the email headers. Open the message, then go to the View menu and select Message -> All Headers.
Select the text and post it back here (remembering to obscure your own email address first).

ITunes does not recognize these back up files even though the location is the same as cloud & recently burned music that does show- help! The backup files consist of 34,000+ songs; almost all burned from my own CD collection. I do have most of the songs on an ipod classic but hesitate to try to restore from that. Can someone tell me how to get these 34,000 songs to show up in iTunes? Thanks!!

The red outline highlights the media folder and its contents, the various subfolders are only created if that kind of content is in your library. The right-hand side shows the files that should be found in the iTunes library folder; sentinel is normally hidden so may not be visible. The core of your iTunes library is the file iTunes Library.itl, you need to restore this, the other library files and the Album Artwork folder, as well as the media folder, to restore your library.

I movie will not recognize .mpg files

I have recently transferred all my PC videos to my I Mac. I am trying to make movies using I Movie but it will not recognize these files. Any thoughts?

.MPG files are containers to various encoding formats, some of which are not supported by iMovie. Just because the files are playable in QuickTime, does not mean the files are editable in iMovie.

Try disabling a/v software and turn off the Firewall on your PC.
Disable antivirus software
Turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off
Then connect the iPod to your computer. Launch iTunes. If your computer still won't recognize the iPod check out this article.

Once your iPod is functioning again, with it connected to your computer, launch iTunes. Select the iPod under Devices in the source list on the left.
Select the box next to: Open iTunes when this iPhone is connected
That way iTunes should open automatically when you connect your iPod to your computer.
And iTunes / Preferences - Devices. You can have your iPod sync automatically whenever it's connected from the Devices pane.

I just got a new Imac, and downloaded files from my old PC. Now, when I go to Finder, I have 1500 files in an area called developer. What is this, and can they be deleted? There are also 78 files listed as Other! Most of these files I do not recognize.

Did you use the Migration Assistant to help set up the new iMac using some of the files in the older PC? Some likely won't mean much, unless you have applications that can use or convert them. There's also a way to use the software Time Machine to import data files from an external or another computer, so you may have used that, too.
Hopefully someone with experience in a similar issue will reply...

Generally I would not use Facebook for sharing any photos, it compresses the photos substantially, and when you have shadows and dark colours you get visible "bands" where there should be subtle gradients, ie at sunsets and sunrises.
It sounds like you are using two methods to upload to Facebook:
1. Sharing from within Aperture, which basically syncs Facebook with your Aperture album, so any changes made at either end gets synced, hence the deletions from Albums, although the original file should still be in your library, just removed rom the album. It is like a playlist in iTunes.
2. Exporting pics and uploading to Facebook from the browser.
I am not sure how method 1 gets compressed, but I know that uploading hi-res jpegs to Facebook using method 2 results in poor quality images.
I wouldn't even bother comparing option 1 or 2, and they will both be poor images once you view them on Facebook, as opposed to viewing uploaded images on proper image sharing / hosting sites.
Your problem is not with Aperture, it is using Facebook for showing your work.
If you export pics form Aperture at high res jpegs or TIFFs your images will be fine.
If you insist to use Facebook as your way to share your work, then your workflow should be this:
1. Right click images you want to share.
2. Select Export version.
3. Export as 100% size and ensure the export settings are set at 100% quality.
4. Upload this pic into Facebook.
This will get you the best image size and resolution on Facebook.
See how you go.

HT1688 camera on 4s , i have downloaded all pics and their is still 129 pics that the lap top does not recognize? how can i download these pics?

i have just downloaded 407pics from my 4s. i turned off phone then turn on after 3-4 min. I looked at Camera to ensure that all pices were gone and their is still 129 photos and 29 videos ( no Album) . when i then plugged the Phone back in to download these pics the lap top does not recognize any pics left on the phone?

Your photos will not be touched, but your computer might recognize the photos again after that.

In the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete the account and re-enter it - sometimes that resolves this
Or IMHO the best long term solution is to set Apple Mail as the iPhoto e-mail client in the iPhoto preferences and use it - it has a number of advatages and has fewer problems

I am unable to e-mail photos, receive a statement saying that the werever does not recognize my username and or password. I have checked multiple times and these are correct.

The box comes up that says "server does not recognize username or password".
That error message usually will pop up, when there is a conflict between the "From" setting for the mail account you are sending from and the selected outgoing mail server. Probably the outgoing Mail server is receiving a user name and password it does not understand. When the mail returns unsent, do you see the "Try again" panel with the option to select a different outgoing mail server?
If you do not see this panel, change the Mail "Preferences > General" to "If Outgoing server is unavailable: Show a list of alternate servers". This way, you will know, which server Mail is trying to send from.
Have you tried to set "From" pop-up menu to one of your other email addresses? If that works, change your settings in Mail to always send from this address. You can set this option in the Mail "Preferences > Composing: Send New Messages from". I have my "Send New Messages from" set to "iCloud". That is working best for me with iPhoto.

Share button will not recognize Facebook

I'm using a late 2009 Mac mini running OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 and the share button will not recognize Facebook. I checked the System Preferences and Facebook has been activated for sharing. This happens when I'l trying to upload a large album but it does recognize facebook when I try to upload 48 pics or less. Has my machine been throttled back or is there an issue with the application?

If you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. You can now go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your correct iCloud ID and password.
If you don't have access to your old email address, you will have to contact Apple to have them reset the password so you can disable Find My iPhone and sign into your iCloud account. You can either go to https://expresslane.apple.com, select "More Products and Services", then "Apple ID", then on the next page select "Other Apple ID Topics", then "Lost or forgotten Apple ID password" and click "Continue"; or you can contact Apple Support (http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/).
