After you connect the iPhone to your Mac launch iTunes.
Select the iPhone under Devices left side of the iTunes window.
Select the Music tab from the menu.
Make your selections for the songs you want synced the click the Sync button bottom right side of the iTunes window.

  • HT4865 right now i share an icloud with my sisters phone how do i log out of hers and make my own for my own phone without deleting either of our apps etc?

right now i share an icould with my sister's phone how do i log out of hers and make my own for my phone without deleting either of our apps etc on our phone?

You don't need to worry about apps.  You can continue to share the same ID for the iTunes and App stores but in order to create a new iCloud account you will need to use a different ID (it doesn't need to be the same as your iTunes ID).
To migrate your phone to your own account,  if you have any photos in photo stream that you want to save on your phone, open your my photo stream album and save them to the camera roll by tapping Edit, then tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share and tap Save to Camera Roll.
Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  Your sister's phone will not be effected by this.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On My iPhone.  Next, set up your new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom).  Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to the new account.
Once your phone is on its own account, you can go to icloud.com on your computer, sign into your account and manually delete any of your sister's data from your account.  She can also delete any of your data from her account.

  • How to share icloud with family without sharing apple id

I want to share iCloud with my family so that we can share music but I don't want them to also be able to download my emails etc.  What can I do?

Your iTunes login doesn't have to be the same as your iCloud login. Use one Apple ID for iTunes and share it with your family, and create another for iCloud and keep it to yourself.

iCloud I do not want to share some documents in the cloud.  I f I turn off iCloud it says I will delete everything already there. How do I know what is already in the cloud

Thank you.  When I go into system preferences, then iCloud, then manage, it does not let me view what is there only says:  ex: The documents stored inside Pages take up 623.3KB and gives me the option to: Delete Documents and Data.  It does not let me see what files are there.   I think it is time for me to go back to my apple store and get more acquainted with iCloud and storage and how to manage it.  I had some issues with my mac about a month ago after downloading an updated version.  The issue was related to syncing, iCloud, iTunes, calendar and storage.  I am nervous about loosing more documents, photos, etc..from my Mac.  Thank you for the information.

  • How do I disable sharing on one of two apple tvs? I do not want to share my library and apps with my ex. Apple tvs are in separate homes

I just broke up and left my ex and we had two apple tvs in our home.  I kept one and she kept one.  How do I turn off home sharing on the apple tv that she kept?  I no longer want to share anything with her.  My apps, music, movies, etc.  Do I need to change my apple ID?

    Hey Mixtris,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you are concerned that someone may have access to some of your content using your Apple ID. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

  • We have 3 iPads 3 iPhones 3 Apple id's.  We want to use 1 calendar we can all access on each device and have each device update or sync and we all receive notifications from the one calendar. We do not want to share photos contacts, ect.  Please help

We have 3 Apple Id's, each ID using an iPad and an iPhone (3 id's, 3 iPads, 3 iPhones). We want to use one calendar on all 6 devices and have that one calendar update or sync to all devices.  We would like all 6 devices to provide notifcations from the one unique calendar as well.  We do not want to share contacts, photos, ect.  Please suggest how to achieve this, with the name of the calendar, if I am to get one from the App store, and how to set this up.  Please talk in easy terms as I am technically Challenged. Thank you.  3 iPad air 2, 2 iPhone 6 plus, 1 iPhone 4s.

    Hello there MizzouTrojan,
If I understand correctly you want all 6 devices to have access to a single calendar that each device gets notifications for and can edit. You can do that with an private iCloud shared calendar. First sign into www.icloud.com and use these steps from the following article to share a calendar:
iCloud: Share a calendar with others
    Share a calendar privately
Click the Share button to the right of the calendar name in the sidebar, then select Private Calendar.
Note:    You can also share the same calendar publicly. For instructions, see the next task, “Share a calendar publicly.”
Type the invitee’s email address in the Add Person field and press Return.
Click the pop-up menu with the invitee’s name and choose access privileges (View & Edit or View Only).
For each person you want to share the calendar with, repeat steps 2 and 3.
When you’ve invited everyone and set their privileges, click OK.
Invitation emails are sent from your iCloud email address to the participants you specified.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,

  • My wife and I both have iPads and two separate iTunes accounts, and do NOT want to share apps

My wife and I share one MacBook. We both each have an iPad and we each have our own indvidual iTunes accounts. That is we have two separate individual iPads and two separate iTunes accounts. I do not want her apps on my iPad, and she does not want my apps on her iPad.
When my wife tries to update her apps on her iPad, it shows my user ID and requests my password. It does not even give her an option to put in her own iTunes account ID and password. This happens even though she is clearly logged in on her iPad under Settings --> Store with her own iTunes account, and have the same setup on my iPad (my own user ID and password for my iTunes account). I do not have this problem on my iPad.
How do we keep our apps separate? This is very annoying!
    Thanks!

There's info here on setting up separate libraries and user accounts. You won't have to reload (or re-import) all the music, just copy it.
The reason I suggest separate accounts on the Mac is because if you have the two libraries under the same user account, iTunes will also open the last library that was open in that account, and you'll always have to be mindful of which library that is. If you open iTunes and find it's not your library, you'll have quit, relaunch holding the option key and select the other library.
No, you won't have to log in and out of the Mac. (If I'm understanding your question here.) Multiple accounts can be logged in at the same time. And with fast user switching, you can toggle between user accounts.
I'll admit that maintaining the two libraries gets a little tricky, because if you share all the same music, you'll have to add it to one and update the other. (That won't happen automatically.) But I think Home Sharing makes this much easier to do.
    Hope that helps!

  • I created a large Flash Pro file which includes buttons and I want to share it with others

I created a large Flash Pro file which includes buttons and I want to share it with others. It's too big for e-mail and youtube and dropbox don't support fla files. I'm new to Flash and I would appreciate a simple solution!
    Thank you!

Thank you! But based on the link you gave me it seems like I should only have to do step 1 since I am not trying to embed my file into a web page. After I uploaded the SWF file to the Google Drive it still will not play. It keeps opening in Adobe Device Central and won't play anything. Should I go ahead and do step 2?
I really just want the video available to share with others. It seems like this shouldn't be very difficult.
    Thanks!

  • I have motion on my lap top and want to share it with my i mac. Can i do this?

    Hi ,
I have motion on my laptop and want to share it with my imac... can I do this?

You can use a flash drive and move it over from the laptop to the iMac, but I'd go to the App Store on your iMac and simply redownload it. It won't cost you anything since you've already purchased it (assuming you're using the same Apple ID).
That way it creates and installs and the necessary folders and content in the right places.
Now, to share projects - it's a little bit different.
    1. You can work on the project on your laptop, transfer it to a flash drive, copy it over to your iMac, work on it, and do it all over again. Saving over the same file, or creating different versions, would be up to you - but it's the worst feeling to open a project and find out it's a previous version - and for whatever reason you won't be able to get to work on the latest version for some time.
    2. Skip the flash drive, and use AirDrop from a Finder window to wirelessly transfer the files.
    3. I've found the easiest way to do this is to create a Dropbox account (if you don't already have one) install it on both machines, and save your project to the Dropbox folder. You avoid all the hassle of the other two methods - you just need to have access to the Internet for the files to sync.
It's worth noting, when you're transferring your project - there's a .motn file, and usually a corresponding folder for the media if you decided in the preferences to have Motion copy all the assets to the folder, rather than having them all over your computer. Without them consolidated, you can have broken links, or missing media as I believe the official Motion terminology is, if you ever move a used file from the location Motion thinks it should be. Especially if you're going between two computers, it'd be best to let Motion consolidate all the media into one folder - as the file paths could end up different on the two machines.
I did not expect to write this much haha — but I hope it'll let you avoid future headaches!

Your question is almost too much a personal one, begging the question "do we (husband and wife) feel comfy sharing one account on the Mac"   maybe thats why nobody answered you.
It doesnt complicate anything, but it adds steps for switching accounts on the Mac/ purchases etc. of course
since your question is mostly personal, ..I wont answer THAT part of it, but creating a new account is easy.....messing with switching back and forth is also a personal preference 'issue' as well.   I prefer to keep things simple, but...........you and yours,  I dont know.......

looking to save email from iPhone that is on iCloud, but do not want it to keep it on the phone?

Forward it to another email address, or print it, or copy and paste it into another app, then delete it.
Your iPhone mirrors exactly what is in your iCloud email account. If you delete the email from your phone it will be deleted from the iCloud server.

With the new iCloud, I keep seeing people wondering how they are going to be able to keep sharing purchases among their family members using one Apple ID since the way iCloud works encourages you to have your own.
The problem is, people think to share purchases among their family members they have to use a single Apple ID.That is not true at all.
If you set up Home Sharing in iTunes, you can share purchases among family member computers and devices that are using different Apple IDs. Many people don't understand that although Home Sharing requires you to use a single Apple ID to connect everyone, all of your family members can continue to use their OWN Apple IDs in iTunes and in their iDevices. The Home Sharing account just links up multiple different Apple IDs for you.
Edited to Clarify: Home Sharing among family members with different Apple IDs is NOT limited to just music. You can share purchased apps, books, tv shows, movies, etc. too. Basically anything in your iTunes library. And that includes sharing iOS apps.

It would seem as though it does work with different IDs.
